The Second Reveal

Posted on Thu Jun 1st, 2023 @ 1:53am by Lieutenant Commander Bonnie "Bon-Bon" Durnell & Remal Kajun & Commander Dean House & Lieutenant Commander Sandra "Phantom" Risa & Lieutenant Commander Thriss Kla'ren & Lieutenant T'Ka O’Drisscol & 1st Lieutenant Freya Score & Lieutenant JG Blake Leone & Ensign Syrik & Ensign Vailah & Lieutenant Thomas Haldeman & Lieutenant Alison Haldeman & Lieutenant Sarah Wilson

Mission: Repairs and Retribution
Location: Wardroom, Starbase 67, USS Sunfire
Timeline: 2 Hours Post Abduction

Actually, Dean had suggested that they all go separate ways. Linger here, linger there. Not walk with a purpose and a certain location. That way if they were being watched before getting back on the Sunfire, it'd look fine. Finally coming into the Conference Room.

Anna had stopped off at her quarters just like she normally did to waste a little time, getting something to nibble on she gave it all of five minutes before picking up a PADD and making it look as though she was going to give a report. Walking into the Conference room she moved to a seat and sat down, waiting to see what the plan was.

T'Ka had stopped by his quarters before heading to the briefing room, pulling his tunic down he stepped into the turbo lift, awaiting. He stepped out into the corridor, the briefing room was right ahead "Awfully sorry I'm late" he announced before taking a seat at the table.

Sarah waited until everyone was there before looking at Dean who was the ranking officer, and Tom who was the only one in the room with command experience.

"Soooooo what's the plan?"

"There's not a plan. We should come up with more than one. Right now we do need intel, like they are gathering but we're better at it and have more resources." Dean nodded, to T'Ka.

Sarah looked at Remal with a question in her eyes "is there some old Bajoran trick for hacking into the Cardassian's unique identifiers that their ships use?" She asked with hope in her voice.

T'Ka looked to Commander house "Well I for one will help however I can. Intel gathering and research are some of the things I'm good at so where ever you need me commander I'm at your disposal" He said with a warm smile to the other officer.

Biting his tongue internally, Remal responded to Sarah only. "I don't know about any hacking trick. I'm sure there is, but I prefer to leave computer things to people like Bonnie." He then addressed Dean, "Look, I take it for granted the Sunfire is out of commission for following one of these ships, even a decoy, but what about a shuttle, or... or a run-about? Surely there is a warp trail or something we can use to track these bastards?" His frustration was out there for everyone to see. And this sitting about wasn't helping.

"A shuttle or a runabout isn't feasible Chief." Tom said softly. "When we find the captain and the others, we need to get them from wherever they are being held and that's going to involve a fight either going in or coming out probably both. We need the firepower a starship offers. Why can't we take the Sunfire? Her repairs are mostly finished and she's got the firepower."

Sarah looked at Tom with wide eyes. "Won't we get in trouble?" She asked before thinking. "I mean I know we'll get in trouble, but can we even do that?"

"Sure we can Sarah." Tom replied to the doctor. Commander House has the codes and can assume command on an intrim basis until we recover Captain Kaylen. Commander Savar and Lieutenant Vali. We take the Sunfire and launch our own search and rescue mission."

Sarah's jaw dropped. "So we can just fly out of spacedock, without approval?" She turned to look at Thriss "Can she even fly?"

Thriss spoke up with a small grin on his face. "Oh, she'll fly doctor. She's still recovering and some repairs are to be finished but the Sunfire should be mission capable" he looked at Dean. "I can also have my engineers work double time to get the ship up and running if need be."

Remal stared at Tom, "I can't believe you would suggest a full on assault. Not only do we not know what or who it is we are dealing with, but this is a hostage situation. And that hostage happens to be near and dear to me." He then turned to Dean in a huff.

"You want an alternative, here's one. We take three teams, and we follow those freighters. The longer we wait, the further away they are getting, lest I remind you. Even if it's just recon, at least we will have a location and the knowledge of if they are alive or not." He sighed heavily and wondered why he was standing here gabbing instead of doing something, anything. He was ready to go off and find Patin. He knew she, at least, would be ready to kick some Cardassian ass.

"Chief, I know what the Captain means to you and I am not suggesting a full scale assault. I am suggesting we have enough firepower to pull off a rescue once we find out where the captain and the others have been taken." Tom replied.

"And what I am proposing is finding where they were taken to. Our goals are one in the same. The approach on the other hand..." He trailed off with another huffing sigh.

Tom nodded, "Chief, we'll get the Captain and the others back." He tried to reassure the Chief but he knew how the man felt. If something happened to Alison. He'd move heaven to get her back.

He understood, at least on the surface. His mind tried to find a patient place for which he could find solace. He knew the Prophets had a bigger plan, though those thoughts meant nothing at this pivotal moment in time. The idea of her being tortured and injured again as their people had so many times before, made him angry inside. His jaw clenched at the thoughts rolling around inside his head. Tik tok.

"So you're saying we pick a warp trail and go fetch?" Sarah asked inquisitively "or is there a way we can narrow these 3 ships down?" She rose and headed towards the newly replaced large computer panel on the wall. She brought up a schematic of the station and the three Cardassian ships. Pressing a few controls she managed to get the flight plan of one of them. "Looks like this one was heading back towards Earth with a shedload of Kunar and self sealing stem bolts. The other two haven't filed plans yet"

"Looks are always deceiving when it comes to Carddies." Remal said shaking his head. He knew Sarah was helping and he was grateful for her.

At that moment there was a heavy thud at the door followed by a woman's voice, "Ow." When the door parted, Bonnie stood there rubbing her nose briefly before freezing as she realized the conference room was loaded with serious looking people and they had all turned to look at her. "Um, did I miss something?" She asked. She had gone looking for Dean to let him know the news report she had heard on the station, but it was evident he already knew by the look on his face.

Sarah winced as Bonnie stood at the doors. The poor girl was the most accident prone person in the universe. There was no blood and therefore no break. "The Captain, Commander Savar and Lt Vali have been kidnapped, and we're gonna find them and rescue them" she explained simply.

"Well... alrighty then." Bonnie returned as she peered around the room at the sheer number of people who had already been in the know before her. Typical really.

T'ka had been paying attention through out "Well I believe we aren't left with much choice in essence isn't the Sunfire in the hands of her crew if her captain is otherwise engaged?" he said with a slight smile "Plus isn't awfully Vulcan to play by the rules? Life Is about risk.. sometimes we have to risk it to get things back and I'm all for blowing out of space dock, flying straight for the captains coordinates"

Sarah looked at this newcomer with wide eyes. She had no idea who he was but at this point in time she didn't care if he wanted the same outcome as them. She stuck out her hand "Dr Sarah Wilson, ACMO" she introduced herself. "The Captain mentioned we'd be getting a new CMO soon."

Bonnie stepped inside and allowed the doors to close. They were already talking about the abduction. There was a diagram of the three ships on the viewer and the new comer was already talking about hunting down the Captain. "So... so, do you know which of the three ships we should follow? I mean, I did some preliminary research when I heard the news." She moved over to the viewer and plugged in some details.

The viewer changed to show the three freighters. "Of the three ships, only one had warp 5 capability. The other two were warp 4 at best. This means they would take approximately 6.35 hours before reaching the edge of Cardassian space if they traveled straight there." She turned and looked at the group. "By simply tracing the trajectory I determined only two of them were even close to that direction. Unfortunately they were sent to opposite ends of Cardassian space. One has to clearly be a decoy."

She punched in the trajectories on the viewer and triangulated possible destinations within the flight path of both ships. Bonnie pointed at the one, "This one doesn't travel near any known inhabited planetoids within the arc of it's known trajectory. While this one," She pointed at the other and had the viewer focus in. "This one has half a dozen known locations, all within Cardassian space." She eyed the group and gave a half smile realizing they may have already known what she had just told them and now regretted her over share. They only one she expected to be grateful was Remal, but looking over the eyes in the room noticed, he was gone, having slipped out quietly.
