| Personal History | Thriss was born in 2345 on Andoria. For most of his childhood, he spent taking apart old consoles, and other technology that was no use to others. When he was just 15, him an his family moved to Earth. A few years later, he attended Alaska State University for a few months, because he missed Andoria. However, he decided he'd rather be a Starfleet Officer, so he applied to Starfleet Academy, which he applied to in the Engineering and Command Divisions. When he finished the academy, he graduated at the rank of Ensign. For two years he served on the USS Lincoln as a Yeoman, and an Engineering Officer. In 2369, he served for another two years on the USS Varley, a Galaxy Class. In 2371, he was promoted to Assistant Chief Engineer of the Varley. He served on the Varley for two more years, and was promoted to Acting Chief Engineer, as his Chief Engineer, was severely injured. After this incident, Thriss was recommended for promotion, and became full Chief Engineer, in 2374. He served there for three more years until late 2378, when he transferred to the USS Liberty, as Chief Engineer. After a few intense missions under Captain Kaylen's command, the crew of the USS Liberty and the crew of the USS Sunfire switched hulls, resulting in Thriss becoming the CEO of the Akira class ship. After transferring it was discovered in the ship's computer that there were plans for the Sunfire to have a transwarp drive. Thriss and his department with the help of a few others built the drive. However it was damaged when the Sunfire crash landed on a dinosaur-esc planet. However with the help of a small group of crew that remained on the ship, he managed to get the ship space worthy again. Once the crew returned to port, he and the rest of the engineering department and crew set out to repair the Sunfire. During the Sunfire's repairs, the Captain, First Officer, and Counselor were all abducted by Cardassians. After the repairs were completed, the Sunfire's Second Officer assumed command. Eventually after finding where they were being held, with the help of the entire department including Lieutenant Bonnie Durnell, they were able to get the transwarp drive working, although it had to be used untested to get to their final location of the planet Kunar. After they rescued their crew, the Sunfire returned to Federation space and the engineering department conducted repairs once more, although there was far less to do this time around. Shortly before the Sunfire went on her next mission, Thriss was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. To be continued... |
