Mission:
Planet of the Dinosaurs
Location: Sunfire
Timeline: Current
Holodeck
Bonnie heard Dean's voice break through her emotional fog. Her head lifted and she tapped her badge. "Bonnie here, go ahead Commander." She said without realizing he was asking her for a report, not the other way around.
"Are you okay? Where are you, Bon-Bon?' once Dean's head was finally on a little straighter, it was back to his 'work' tone. The concern was still there. So what, he used the pet name. No one cares. As long as things got done, and she was safe for now. "Can you..hold on."
Did he just... Did he call me just to put me on hold? she wondered to herself. It was possible the situation had grown so bad that there wasn't time to catch ones breath. Maybe there was only time to check in to see if people were still alive and kicking. If that was how bad things were, maybe the had become an evacuation protocol situation and there was no way to tell anyone. Hell, she had no idea if Patin had ever reached the bridge.
Realization hit her as she realized there was no one in the holodeck to step up and be the leader of the group. She wouldn't normally nominate herself, I mean who would follow little ole Bonnie, the girl who makes things worse wherever she goes. Defying her own logic Bonnie stood up.
"Okay... Um... Everyone listen up. Um, we all felt that explosion and there has been no resent communication with, well anyone," she said not realizing the communication channel was still open. "This means we are on our own and probably in an evacuation protocol situation. We need to make it to our closest evacuation meeting location. Um, anyone know where that might be?"
Someone pointed beyond the still-closed door frame. Which posed a problem. "Right, so uh, we take the J-tube hatch as far as the next junction and see if we can get out there." She eyed the injured, "Annnnnd we'll use any spare articles of clothing we can to make braces, slings, and splints for the injured and come back for those who can't be moved." She even removed her outer upper layer as she spoke, in a sign of willingness, and tossed it down at the feet of an injured man, her comm badge lay within the bundle of clothing. This left her in only her black undershirt, but hell it was getting hot in here anyway, or was that just her cheeks from embarrassment?
She acted all excited, "So who's with me?" Murmurs and groans were all she got in return.
Dean sort of kind of did, but she was still on the open link. He'd done that on purpose for them all to hear one other. "We're still working on everything. Are you safe and secure?"
But Bonnie couldn't hear his muffled words from within her over-shirt. Frowning, she headed for the J-tube hatch, pulled back the door and crawled in.
Outside Environment Control
Kit reached down and tapped her combadge ”Bridge, Ensign Thenis here, if possible can we have someone either go to the Auxiliary Environmental control center or other control panel and reroute the gasses from the main control and section between Jefferies tubes 15, 16.17. and 18. We are getting seriously blasted by blowouts as we fight this damn fire!” She said in a very pained tin voice.
There was the sound of a very faint explosion from somewhere on the ship, carried through the Jefferies tubes. Almost immediately followed by the sound of a tin voice of Ensign Kitius coming over a combadge "I need an immediate beam out of a serious, casualty red patient. Multiple shrapnel wounds and at least up to third degree burns. Crewmen Randall and Hussein to my position on the double.”
Dean's previous comm was still actively open with Bonnie, when he answered Thenis'. "Alright.. I got you. I can do it," said, wringing out his burnt hands a little. Closing and opening them into and from a fist a few times. Looking to Rhenora and Savar, "Sorry, going out is going to have to wait. Place to go, people to see."
Already starting for not the Turbolifts, or Jeffries tubes. Actually the emergency transporter behind the back of the Bridge wall consoles by one of the two heads. Back to the conversation between Bonnie and Thenis. "I'm beaming down to Auxiliary and getting that one to the field hospital in the Cargo Bay. You can walk me through it once I get there."
Thenis reached up with her right arm and almost vomited in her respirator from the pain, and tapped her combadge, in a tin can voice she said =^=”Can you repeat last transmission Sir. Was that directed towards me or another crewmember?”=^= the pain she was experiencing coming through her communication.
"Yeah... sorry. I'm beaming down to the Auxiliary area. You and your wounded to the Cargo Bay. If I can't figure out what I need to do to shut that junction off, then you can walk me through it from there." Dean tapped on the console, to get them help first.
Thenis immediately returned a reply in the tin can voice of the respirator =^=”Belay getting me out Sir, just get crewman Kane out, she is a critical injured. I and the remainder of my team are needed to continue with the fire suppression efforts here as it appears at least one of the plasma conduits and even an EPS conduit or two have ruptured. We are tackling this thing with a severely undermanned crew. Triple tapping crewman Kane’s combadge so you can identify her. I believe one of the crewmen in my team will be able to help in instructing how to bypass the shut-off valves to the plasma conduits, EPS conduits, and gas lines.”=^=
The Captain listened on with concern, the sound of her people in pain was never easy to listen to when she wasn't in a position to directly help. Thankfully Dean was on the case. The fires were getting worse, soon the Sunfire may be uninhabitable.
Kit smiled and tapped her combadge, her tin voice sending out her message ”Commander House be advised Crewman Hussein will be with crewman Kane, who needs the evac, and will also be your point of contact for bypassing the plasma conduits, EPS conduits, and gas lines from the areas around Jefferies Tubes 15,16. 17, 18 and 19. Myself and crewman Randall are going forward to tackle this Red Dragon Devil of a fire. ”
"Okay, okay. I've got her locked. Transporting." Dean beamed Kane out and notified the Cargo Bay of the incoming, and priority. Giving focus back to Thenis, "You really should go also but since you're not going to listen." Dean shimmering out and then to the location. Tapping his comm badge, "I'm here Thenis, Hussein. Bonnie, you still with us also?"
Somewhere in a J Tube alone
Since no one agreed to her plan of action and her rank carried little weight, she had resolved to go alone. Patin did, so she could as well, right?" Normally she didn't mind the tubes but this situation was not normal. There was smoke and the ship as a whole was getting warmer. Either there was fire or the outside air was warmer than the inside air and things were regulating slowly. She pressed on, looking for a way to get somewhere safe.
Outside Environment Control
Crewman Hussein reached up hit her combadge and in a tin can metallic voice replied to the commander ”Crewman Hussein here sir, I am working my way towards the rest of the team. Is the Auxiliary Environmental Controls still functioning?”
Meanwhile, Ensign Thenis replied in her metallic respirator voice =^=”I am here also, little busy fighting this fire right now, Sir. You may want to make a ship-wide announcement to shut the Jefferies Tube hatches to lessen the smoke from the fire.”=^= Just as she finished her statement another explosion could be felt and heard in the ship. =^=”Bloody Hell, the crossover Jefferies tube leading to the Main Environmental Controls just blew out into the corridor, unsure if it has affected the Second Deck corridor. Got to go Commander, have work to do. Crewman Hussein walk his butt through in reroute and bypass plasma conduits, EPS conduits, and gas lines from the area.”=^=
Dean have his hand a bit in front of his face a little bit from the smoke. "It looks like," double checking the systems. "Primary Environmental is completely off line. Or at least looks like it. Auxiliary however, yes is still working. For now anyway. What am I looking for now, Hussein, Thenis?"
Crewman Hussein replied to Commander House in a timid, tin sounding voice =^=”Okay Sir the Panel should look like a wiring diagram with multiple colored lines with little T like points along them. If a Line is flashing Black it indicates a full rupture and will eventually lead into a yellow with red on its outside flashing light. The closest T at those junctures will need to be touched and the next T immediately below that needs to be touched. This will activate the emergency cut off clamps and seal the pipes. What we need first though are any line that appear neon green that lead into a flashing yellow and red or black area shut down first. These are the Plasma conduit lines. Same procedure. Do not worry about any of the other colors as they are various gases the ship requires. It is critical you remember the first T then the next T in line or you may and could cause another blowout of the line.”=^= Commander Dean then could hear her grunt and a faint tin voice say ”That is all the slack left in your hose Sir.”
Bridge
While House was off doing whatever it was, he could, Savar turned to Maxwell, knowing Rhenora would hear and could chime in if there was anything she wished to add. "Mr. Maxwell, you and I will go to the armory, and we will each equip ourselves with both a phaser and a phaser rifle. We will give Mr. Patin and Commander House reasonable time to join us. If they do not, we will proceed to scout the area as we need to know what is out there."
"Mr. Patin?" Patin stared Savar down for a moment before pulling up her shirt and exposing both bobbles, "these look like man boobs to you?" She glanced down and then back up. "Go on, feel em' if you want. They're real or else I'm forever drunk." She half smiled but her eyes never left his.
Savar didn't blink or bat an eye as he met her gaze. "Mister, is the accepted term when referring to a crewmember. However, I will refrain from addressing you as such and simply address you as Patin. As for your chest, most ordinary. Are you ready to accompany myself and Mr. Maxwell?"
"Who you calling ordinary? I'll have you know these are Patin original, two of a kind." She lowered her shirt and saw there was no change in Savars facial expression so she looked at Rhenora, "No humor on this guy, not even a crack." Then in resignation, as she saw her friend stifle a laugh, "Yeah, I guess I am as ready as they come. But just for the record, you know I'm a civil right? No Hazzard pay if I should, you know..." She mocked having her throat slit open.
"I am not calling you ordinary Patin. I said your chest, while original, was ordinary. Yes, I am aware you are civil...." He waited a beat, two before he continued, "at least the captain says you are most of the time." Savar replied with a joke of his own.
"Oof." Patin said, only slightly deflated. She gestured with her thumb while addressing Rhenora, "Was that a joke? Is he always like this?" The question of course was rhetorical. "Alright Commander, ready when you are." The hazzard pay question was still burning in her mind in a bubble of why am I putting my life on the line for these people. She slung a bag over her shoulder she seemed to have pulled from thin air. "Got everything I need right here, well, almost." The alcohol within had been properly chilled.
" First port of call is to find supplies" Rhenora confirmed as the team looked ready to depart, although she was interrupted by a call from Ops.
"I still can't get hold of Engineering, life support systems are offline, the level of carbon monoxide and toxic fumes from the fires are rising rapidly" The officer announced.
"Well that changes things, your priority is to find us a safe spot to house the crew until we can get these fires under control. Looks like the Sunfire won't be the safe harbour I had hoped" She admitted sagely.
"Very good Patin. I am ready as well. Do you have a weapon?" Savar asked. "We will follow the captain's orders and look for a suitable camp for the crew, one that offers shelter along with a water source."
The officers nodded and followed the XO off the bridge towards the shuttle bays.
=^=Bridge Ensign Thenis here. We are at a standstill with the fire. We have the majority of it out but must combat the plasma fires and gas fires from the broken lines.” here she looked around the pitch dark corridor ”This section of the ship is a complete lose, I have estimated at least seven possible deaths of crewmen in the corridor, estimated by the charred black piles I see, no telling how many at their duty stations. We could really use these lines being either cut or shut off. Also would love it if my crew could be relieved as we are all extremely dehydrated. Ensign Thenis out.=^= ”
Diplomatic quarters
Blake wiped sweat off her forehead as she checked on the injured. Thank goodness that no one was seriously hurt. It took a little bit, after hearing the call from the Bridge, to actually get free from the Diplomatic suite. Part of her office. Blake found one of the turbolifts that were actually still working. Riding it up, though worried. She stepped off, the state of the Bridge gave her pause a moment at the state of it. "Um....I.." taking a breath, "Lieutenant JG Blake Leone reporting in. The injured in the diplomatic offices have been tended. No one is lethally injured. Where am I needed next? I cannot do more here", she said. Blake went quiet, wondering how the other departments were doing.
"Head to Engineering, I'll send medical and some help. We haven't heard much and the damage to that section was severe" The Captain replied, nodding towards several crewman including Ronson to start making their way down there to assist. "Any able bodied crewman not already tasked are to head to the lower decks and begin damage and casualty protocols" she tapped her combadge to close the communication, frustrated she couldn't go and assist herself.
