Personality & Traits

General Overview Core Identity

Patin is a fighter-survivor whose identity was forged in resistance and irreverence. To her, life was always about scraping by with grit, fire, and wit. She represents the idea that even the roughest, least “holy” Bajorans can be chosen by the Prophets—and can teach them a thing or two.

Personality Traits

Crass & Blunt – Tells it like it is, whether you want to hear it or not. Doesn’t soften words, often swearing, insulting, or cracking inappropriate jokes.

Loyal to the Bone – For all her abrasiveness, her loyalty to Rhenora (and by extension, Rhenora’s family) is absolute.

Resourceful & Cunning – Can jury-rig weapons or tools out of scraps. Her pocketed jacket is a walking workshop.

Irreverent to Authority – Doesn’t bow to priests, officers, or even the Prophets themselves. Calls them out when they act cryptic or high-handed.

Dark Humor – Uses humor as armor, often laughing in the face of violence, trauma, or doom.

Protective – Especially toward children and vulnerable people, though she hides her tenderness under layers of sarcasm.

Appearance & Habits

Often wears a beat-up multi-pocket jacket filled with gadgets, explosives, and spider-venom gas grenades.

Smokes cigars constantly, sometimes chews them even unlit.

Heavy drinker—loves Bajoran ale and any off-world booze that burns.

Worn hands, scarred arms, hair often tied back roughly.

Smells faintly of smoke, metal, and whatever venom her spiders produce.

Speech often peppered with slurs toward Cardassians, whom she despises with unfiltered venom.

Background

Born in the cold southern mountain ranges of Bajor. Worked in avalanche control, blasting mountain peaks to protect tourists.

During the Occupation, turned her trade into sabotage against the Cardassians—rail lines, convoys, and garrisons.

Met Rhenora during the Resistance, becoming a trusted ally and friend.

Nicknamed Remal “Meatsack” as a crude term of affection.

After the Occupation, lived on her own terms until the Brotherhood of the Pah-Wraiths marked her as Rhenora’s ally. This reunited the two friends during a violent confrontation, and from then on she stayed close.

Joined the Sunfire as a civilian, refusing to be called “crew” but becoming an indispensable companion.

Prophecy & Transformation

Received a vision from the Prophets while Patina’agi was still in the womb, warning of Rhenora’s death in childbirth. The vision offered a choice: allow it to happen, or sacrifice herself in her place.

She carried this burden silently, masking the weight with booze, smoke, and bravado.

During the final battle at the cabin:

Fought alongside Rhenora and Remal against Brin (Pah-Wraith host) and Faro.

Witnessed Ikar’agi’s (Agi’s) death and was mortally wounded herself.

Watched Rhenora die in childbirth, leaving Remal with the infant Patina’agi.

Entered the Celestial Temple, not as a supplicant but as an equal—cursing, demanding, bartering. She offered herself in exchange for Rhenora.

The Prophets accepted, allowing Rhenora to return to life. Instead of being obliterated, Patin was invited to remain among them as a new Celestial presence—forever changed, but still irreverent in her manner.

Relationships

Rhenora Kaylen – Soul-sister bond. Fought beside her in the Resistance, bled with her, died for her.

Remal Kajun – Respected him in her own crude way, calling him “Meatsack.” Trusted him to protect Rhenora when she could not.

Patina’agi Kajun – The child who bears her name. She watches over the girl from beyond, sometimes manifesting in dreams or visions.

The Prophets – Uneasy partnership. She speaks to them with blunt irreverence, questioning their riddles, sometimes making them laugh, sometimes infuriating them.

Personal History Legacy

Patin embodies the survival and defiance of Bajor’s spirit. She proves that holiness is not found in polished temples or soft-spoken prayers, but in grit, sacrifice, and love lived fiercely.
Her transition to a Celestial Being is both ironic and poetic—an unfiltered, chain-smoking, explosive-slinging demolitionist now sitting among timeless beings of light.

Her name lives on in Patina’agi Kajun, the child who carries the legacies of Patin and Ikar’agi both.
Service Record Celestial Risk Profile: Patin
Compiled for the Celestial Temple by the Prophets

Operational Identity

Patin was once mortal, a demolitions expert and Resistance fighter. She entered the Temple not in supplication, but in barter—demanding her friend’s life in exchange for her own. Her unorthodox entry set her apart: she is not a “Prophet” in the traditional sense, but a Celestial Outlier. Her presence injects individuality, bluntness, and a mortal sense of humor into the timeless order of the Temple.

Celestial Strengths

Uncompromising Will

Her refusal to submit (burning her own womb rather than be enslaved) marks her as incorruptible. No Pah-Wraith, no Gul, no cosmic force can command her spirit.

Explosive Resourcefulness

Just as she fashioned grenades from spider venom, she now reshapes Celestial energy in ways the Prophets had not considered. Her perspective brings creativity to their guidance.

Fierce Loyalty

Even beyond death, her devotion to Rhenora and Patina’agi burns bright. This loyalty manifests as sharp, focused intervention when their paths are in danger.

Disruptive Honesty

Unlike the Prophets’ cryptic speech, Patin speaks bluntly. This can jolt mortals (and even Prophets) into clarity they wouldn’t otherwise achieve.

Protective Guardian

Watches closely over children, the vulnerable, and especially those who resist oppression. Her Celestial presence favors dream-visions where she can bark warnings or encouragement in her trademark style.

Celestial Weaknesses / Risks

Irreverence to the Order

She frequently mocks the cryptic ways of the Prophets, sometimes derailing their intent. Other Prophets view her as disruptive, though she sees herself as keeping them honest.

Volatile Energy Signature

Her essence carries the same volatility as her explosives. When she manifests, her presence can destabilize visions, making them intense, fiery, or overwhelming.

Hatred of Cardassians

Even in the Temple, her bias persists. She is incapable of neutrality when their legacy or descendants are involved, coloring her interventions with personal spite.

Unpredictable Intervention

Unlike most Prophets, Patin acts more on instinct than cosmic foresight. This makes her assistance unreliable in the broader weave of time, though invaluable in immediate crises.

Attachment to Mortals

The depth of her bond with Rhenora and her family ties her spirit to linear time more strongly than most Prophets, creating vulnerability and risk of entanglement.

Command Risk Rating

High Variability – Patin’s interventions can tip the balance toward salvation or chaos. She is a celestial wild card: powerful, insightful, but disruptive to long-term order. The Prophets weigh her presence as necessary but unpredictable.
