I do believe it is Independence Day for my Northern living crew. I hope the day was filled with family and friends.

I also happens to be the 24th anniversary of this fleet forming. Yes we've been around THAT long, there are a handful of us who have been around since those early days.

Sickbay

In Sickbay Aurora was resting, she was reading one of her books with a drink and some nibbles to hand if she fancied them. She was grateful to be feeling more like herself again, she was hoping for some peace for a while after their mission was done.

By the end of the shift things were looking decidedly more promising from all angles. One the ship Dr Tarsis had developed a working antidote and was now conducting more trials to ensure its effectiveness. Once complete he planned on turning into a vaccine to prevent those not infected on the planet from the pathogen. He awaited the medical ship with baited breath, wanting a second opinion on several key compounds before mass replicating the antidote for the population on the planet below them.

Medical Lab

Dr Tarsis worked tirelessly for hours to save Dr Wilson, with only the Captain and Savar to assist. They couldn't risk any further exposure to the rest of the crew.

After a few moments, then a few minutes without any critical alarms blaring, the good doctor dared to breathe. "I think she'll be ok. It will be a while until she's out of the woods though."

Meanwhile Dean and Aurora were still behind the quarantine field, infected but naturally immune.

Captain Kaylen Rhenora left the ready room with the shuttles all on their way back and a plan to resume relocating the Masimal uninfected to clean zones in the morning. The shuttle crews had done an amazing job in scanning and picking up the locals, dropping them in a large camp that the engineers had set up, supplemented by medical and logistical staff. It seemed as though things were finally starting to go their way.

Each shimmering point of light reminded her of the vastness of the universe, yet the familiar hum of the ship's engines, usually a source of comfort, now felt unsettlingly distant. A soft chime from her PADD interrupted her thoughts—a notification indicating that her transport to the nearest starbase was ready.

Commander's log, situation report. The Sunfire was systematically attacked by an unknown, un-seen assailant. We are still searching the ship for a complete list of our missing crewmembers. They were able to pull us out of warp and transport over under some sort of personal cloaking system.

Speculation at this point is not helpful, but the only species I've met with that sort of cloaking tech is the Jem' Hadar. It churns my stomach to know how efficiently they were able to enter, take our people and leave. What's worse is that we do not yet know why, only guesses.…
