Location: Captain's Quarters

Captain Kaylen Rhenora walked to her quarters, the corridors slightly darkened to indicate Gamma shift. It was late, and those that were not on duty were resting or enjoying their downtime. Remal was currently reading, Patina already asleep in her cot. She was growing so fast and it pulled at rhe Captain's heart to realise just how much of her daughter's days she was missing. Remal was doing a splendid job, balancing his work and raising their child. She however felt the balance weighing heavily in favour of the ship, with only late nights and early mornings spent with her family. She needed to change that, and soon.

Sinking into an armchair she rested her head back and closed her eyes for a few moments, opening them again when the smell of warm soup wafted underneath her nostrils. Bless Remal.

She accepted the soup with a tired smile, sipping it with a practiced pace that ensured effeciency but maintained decorum. When was the last time she ate?

A cup of steaming herbal tea appeared beside her as she picked up the padd and reviewed the team's preliminary findings. They would arrive at Skygowan in 10 hours, and she needed a plan lest the situation be graver than she originally realised. If the Beholder was failing and the Vezda released, they would rival the Pah Wraith in the evil unleashed on the universe. Hopefully they would have time to formulate a plan. Hopefully.
