Mission: Repairs and Retribution
Location: Wardroom, Starbase 67, USS Sunfire
Timeline: 2 Hours Post Abduction

The station Commander paced the room, having read all the relevant data and tried to keep a level head. This kind of thing wasn't unheard of, but for it to happen to senior Starfleet officers, on this Starbase, was a breach of security that would need to be addressed.

Taking a seat he addressed the assembled Sunfire officers before him.

"It appears, your Captain, first officer and chief counsellor were kidnapped by Cardassians having been found 'guilty' during a Cardassians trial they didn't even attend. I don't have the exact details of that trial, only the verdict that was logged in the Cardassian legal database. Hell, the Federation wasn't even informed of it." His voice was grim

Having been focused on getting the Sunfire in proper condition, Thriss had been distracted by other things, so until he had been notified for the roll call, he hadn't really noticed the Captain to be gone. As a senior officer though, this matter took precedence and other engineers could focus on repairs. They knew their jobs. So did he. His job right now was to help find and rescue the Captain. He leaned back in his chair.

"This is a given question, but do we have any idea where they have been taken or their current location is now?" the Andorian asked.

"Not yet, there were three Cardassian freighters docked legally at the time of the abductions, and they headed in three different directions a short time later. They could be on any of them" the security chief answered.

Tom listened to what little information the security forces of the station had gathered still little was better than none. "Excuse me chief. Could the three freighters not be tracked to see what their actual destinations are? I know the Cardassians would never lie about their destinations." He said sarcastically "But best to be sure."

The security chief looked troubled "There is a delicate line we must walk between asking for locations and accusing them of abducting Starfleet officers" He said before conferring with the stations commanding officer. " We will ask for their flight plans and documentation"

Alison had sat listening to those present, she waited for a moment before speaking. “Being pregnant myself my concern is the treatment that the Cardassians will be putting our crewmates through, they won’t care that they’ve got two pregnant women in their grasp.”

He had been pacing, growing ever more frustrated with the questions and the lack of movement. Every breath, every moment was a moment Rhen and the others were further from the safety and security of the Federation, if one could utter that after an abduction right under their very watch. Remal eyed the security chief, "Delicate line," he scoffed.

"There is no delicate line with Cardassians. Even after they lay down and surrendered their planet to the Dominion they still plotted and schemed behind their backs. Once a snake head always a snake head." His words were filled with a level of hate and mistrust, but also a certain aire of racism many of the Federation types had rarely ever heard.

"A delicate line if we don't want to start another war with accusations we have no facts to support. Facts come first" the station Commander said firmly, understanding the undercurrent of emotion that was coursing through the room. "We will find your people, hopefully without an interstellar incident. We have requested flight plans and are currently attempting to track each of the three vessels."

Remal crossed his arms in frustration. Flight plans and tracking were all well and good for some, but he was insistent on doing more with or with out Federation Security. He was not enlisted, nor was Patin, and he was certain once she knew what had happened together they could get the ball rolling much faster. The meeting wasn't even over but he was done and so moved for the door.

"Where are you going?" The security chief asked, hood accusations in his eyes. He didn't know this man from a bar of soap, only that he was Captain Kaylen's husband. History had taught him emotional people often did careless things. "We are working on tracking the ships, I will let you know as soon as we have something. Trust the process."

"Process? You talk of process. I intend to go and find my wife. While you cowards sit around and talk, she could be dying. No thank you." He shook his head in disgust. "I've seen how the Federation process works and I am not okay with it." He had at least stopped moving towards the door.

Dean had been in the back the whole time, leaning against the wall with his arms across his chest. Just listening to everyone going back and forth. The reactions of each of them, taking it all in. He'd already had a plan of his own running through his head, but not here.

The Starbase Commander tried again. "I implore all of you, just sit tight for the time being. We'll let you know when we have more information" And with that he rose and left the room, followed by his security chief.

And.. okay, good, the guy was gone. Dean looked up to see who was left and those of the ship there.

Sarah waited a few moments before looking at the closed doors warily. "Something tells me you aren't going to just wait for them to tell us what's going on..." She started, eyeballing Dean.

Remal stared down Dean impatiently. His jaw clenched while in his head he reverberated the words. 'Trust the process.' Gah, what rubbish. "Well, you've got about five seconds to fess up before I charter a ship myself." He admitted out loud.

Dean finally pushed off the wall, dropping his arms. "Of course we're not going to just wait, who do you take me for? We need to talk about it else where though. You know...prying ears."

Blake remained silent for the time being. There had to be something that could be done. As the Captain, XO and Chief Counselor were in the hands of people who thought them guilty of a crime at a trial they weren't even at, there was injustice there. "Well", she murmured to herself. "Our people weren't at the trial about them. If that's the case, even in their legal database, there should be a chance of talking to their honor. No honorable person would let people be charged as guilty if the people in question weren't there, much less have been informed about it".

"We're talking about Cardassians." Tom pointed out. "In their justice system, sentences are already decided before the trial." He looked at Dean, "Let's get back to the ship. no prying ears there." He suggested.

"Agreed" Sarah rose from her chair and headed out of the room, following the rest of the team. They made tracks back to the Sunfire where the briefing room had just finished being repaired and was mostly operational - baring the fact there was no table and chairs yet. Odd, but acceptable.

"Alright, what's the plan?" She asked as soon as they were all inside.
