Mission: Planet of the Dinosaurs
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current

Captain Kaylen Rhenora had moved to the command chair, heeding the EMH's advice and not walking. She knew it would take time for the message regarding the meeting to get around the ship, and the medical teams were also working their way through the crew and treating the worst of the injuries. During this time she attempted to get the panel next to her chair working and pull up relevant data.

"I can try I suppose." Dean gave a look at his hands a moment, and sighed. Giving a shot at the comm systems. Having to do it the same way Savar was. Using the personal comm badges instead to get the message out. Also trying to send it in text through tricorders also.

A staticky combadge communications came through to the bridge speakers =^= Bridge, Ensign Thenis, it would appear a major fire is occurring somewhere near the Diplomatic Corps and Commodore’s offices. Will attempt to locate and direct fire suppressant teams. =^=

Diplomatic Office and Commodore’s Office region

Kit grimaced a little just my luck, major incident and I get stuck with a very Senior officer next to me she thought. She soon found the emergency medical panel and pulled the manual release, opening the panel. She reached in and grabbed two emergency lamps, handing one to the Commodore “Here sir, one emergency lamp.” She then reached in and grabbed another one for herself, as she did it seemed to her that the smoke was getting thicker in the corridor, “Sir, is it my imagination or is the smoke seem to be getting worse?” she inquired as she turned to pull the manual release to enter the Diplomatic Corps Offices.

She pumped the manual release until the doors were fully open and shined her light into the offices, “Hello, how is everyone in here?” she asked, knowing the answer, as she stepped in, the smoke most definitely getting thicker. She looked at the Commodore as she quickly hit her combadge =^= Bridge, Ensign Thenis, it would appear a major fire is occurring somewhere near the Diplomatic Corps and Commodore’s offices. Will attempt to locate and direct fire suppressant teams. =^= Gods I hope that got through she thought. “Commodore, you will excuse me as I try and locate where this fire is.” With that she began moving back down the corridor.

S'tenosis nodded her approval and then watched the young woman walk away. Meanwhile she began shining her own light around the room and then out into the hallway. She had no intention of being useless in times like these despite her limited experience in such affairs. In fact, much of her field experience had been attained only because of her time serving with Captain Kaylen. Such as it was, that was saying a lot.

Kit made her way cautiously down the corridor, as she did the smoke slowly got thicker and thicker. She was already on her hands and knees crawling slowly forward when she reached a group of injured crewmembers coughing and hacking, much like herself. “How many of you are there?” she inquired.

Chief Warrant Officer 2nd Class Nigel-Timmons replied “A total of twelve Sir, two have critical injuries and the rest of us are just minor injuries. The main concern Sir is that Jefferies tube 17, were the environmental controls are is completely engulfed in flames, so is the corridor leading to Jefferies tube 17. We are the only crewmembers to escape before the whole area was engulfed.”

Ensign Thenis swore “By the Thousand Gods. Okay here is what we need to do,” she stated as she began to cough “you two crewmen get the two critical injured down the corridor to the Diplomatic suites, inform both Commodore S’tenosis, if the Commodore is still there, and or the next highest ranking individual in there what is happening with Jefferies Tube 17, the environmental controls and the corridor. Tell them that we need all available able bodied personnel to help converge on this sector to get the fire under control.”

She again began coughing, “Meanwhile the Chief and I will take the remaining six personnel and begin attacking the fire.” Looked about and shined her lamp along the wall. “There, Chief you take three of the crewmen and open up the access point to Jefferies tube 15, open the emergency fire suppressant access panel, don your gear and make your way to the fire, hit it with every it of fire suppressant in the hose.”

She again coughed, “Meanwhile I will take you three,” she pointed at them “and we will access Jefferies tube 16 and do the same thing.” With that she hit her combadge one last time =^= Bridge, this is Ensign Thenis, this may be my last report for a while. Major fire has engulfed Jefferies tube 17, environmental controls and the corridor outside it.

Sending one team of four into Jefferies tube 15, and I am taking Jefferies tube 16 with three other crewmen to begin attacking the fire. Be advised I have been told that Environmental Control has been lost with heavy casualties. =^= Gisjacheh fire I hope this works and we get help, and I pray by the Thousand Gods we survive this.

Bridge

Back on the bridge Rhenora listened to the broken com call with concern. Major fires had broken out on the ship and those that weren't wounded were doing their best to suppress them. With the hull damaged and broken at least there was fresh air getting in, life support definitely wasn't working. More reports came in via her terminal and staff as they appeared. Engineering was heavily damaged, sickbay was overwhelmed, science was severely damaged, and it wasn't worth talking about the engines. Soon she would have a better picture.

Aurora had returned from Sickbay to give Rhenora an update, walking over to her CO and friend she offered a warm smile. “Sickbay is practically heaving Captain, we’ve got people on beds, floors, and anywhere else we can get them. It’s not all bad news, some are superficial injuries.”

"I'm thankful to hear that" Rhenora breathed a sigh of relief, utterly thankful for the miracle work the medical team were doing. "You and the medical team are doing an amazing job. The crew and I thank you"

Aurora pulled her tricorder out of the medkit she was carrying, running a quick scan of Rhenora. “How are you feeling? Are you in any pain?”

" A little" Rhenora admitted as her legs ached uncomfortably " But ration the supplies until we know help is on the way. I can tolerate the discomfort" She turned and looked at Dean, hoping the distress signal was getting through. She turned to the officers standing around the bridge.

"Alright Team, we need to know what we have so we can work out what we need. Break into teams and ascertain the basics. How much food and water we have, how many medical supplies we have left, and what we need to do to secure the ship against any... potential predators" Her voice drifted off as the sound of a large creature roaring could be heard nearby.

Savar picked his way through the debris that littered the bridge to reach the tactical station and touched a button on the console to activate the view screen. For several moments nothing happened. It was just a dark, blank screen, then with pop the screen came alive, and it was first filled with static but after several seconds undefinable images the picture stabilized and became viewable. When something large and dark came into view. An enormous mouth filled with rows of six-inch-long teeth.

"I daresay we have been discovered," Savar said to Rhenora and the others.

Shortly after Duo had gotten the main viewer online for Savar, his console "let out the magic smoke" as they said and went out. He sighed but was impressed that it had lasted as long as it did. With out it, and seeing that another working console was not available he knew that his usefulness on the Bridge had come to an end. He stepped up from his station and walked over to the Captain.

"Captain, permission to leave the Bridge. Due to damage of the internal sensors, I need to manually verify our supplies and begin organizing my teams for the proper dispersion of materials. That thing looks scary," he gave the beast on the screen a nod "but more of he crew will die from exposure or simple dehydration if we don't start getting supplies organized and where they are needed most."

"Permission granted, take a team with you, no-one is go anywhere alone." The Captain stated as she looked at the viewscreen and the prehistoric creature . If there were large ones, there were bound to be small ones. "Take a phaser with you, I'll see if we can get the damage control teams to start securing the hull breaches and keep the nasties out."

“Captain..” Aurora looked at Rhenora as she prepared a small dose of painkiller. “I know it’s not usual practice but I’d like to request permission to bring Sidak up to the Ready Room?” She pressed the hypo to Rhenora’s neck. “I want to be sure Sidak is where I know he’ll be safe.”

" It's not like I can use it at the moment anyway, grab all the children and a carer if one is available and they can be safe in there, although I haven't been in there since we crashed, I hope its more or less intact" Her words trailed off a little as she thought about what may lay on the other side of the doors to her private office. It may not be there at all.

Again another static combadge communication came over the speakers of the bridge. =^= Bridge, this is Ensign Thenis, this may be my last report for a while. =^=

Aurora looked towards Savar then back at Rhenora. “As much as I hate to suggest it, maybe we should scout the area outside and find somewhere we can set up a safe camp? Caves would be easier to defend away from predators.”

Savar met Aurora's glance and replied to her and Rhenora. "Aurora makes a good point Captain. Though our first priority should be to shore up any hull breeches before any small predators decide to come to investigate. Once done an away team can scout the surrounding area suitable place for a camp."

" I agree - we can stay here but if there's any intelligence in those creatures they'll figure out that we need supplies and pick us off as we leave. I don't plan on becoming dinosaur dinner" The joke was lame, but had the desired effect of cracking at least half a smile on a few faces. "Let's do what we can to shore up the leaks and keep the ship in one piece, then we need to find a defendable position."

"Captain." Savar spoke again, "May I also recommend that we arm as many of the crew that we can. Also, that no one goes anywhere alone, go at least in pairs and that again at least one of the pair is armed."

As he spoke a large bird like creature began pecking angrily at the small transparent dome on the roof of the bridge which had broken in the crash. "I agree, and advise caution, we know nothing about this place. I wonder if Bonnie can find anything in the ships computer database about it, my terminal is only giving me very limited information "Rhenora mused as she looked around the destroyed bridge. "going back to your earlier point, seal the breaches and keep the critters out, then we'll get some teams searching for supplies"

"A most logical statement and plan of action Captain." Savar agreed. "Any information Bonnie can obtain would prove to most beneficial in our continued survival in this environment."

Dean looked up at the dome, with it being cracked, hopefully it will hold. Surely what that was, and the one on the viewscreen aren't strong enough to get through. Surely not. Looking back down a moment in thought. "Hmm...does anyone else remember their history of Earth classes? Because if I'm not mistaken, both of those look like reptiles. Kind of like Dinosaurs."

Shaking his head a bit, "On the supply plans. Remember how big this ship is. We should have a good amount of them. Also even if the ship's replicators are down, we do have ways to power some of them. There are also the replicators on the shuttles, transporters as well. If they or a couple aren't damaged or to badly damaged then we have those and can use them as ways to scout while keeping off of the ground. Save for having to watch out for those flying things. I'm sure we can easily outrun and out maneuver them."

Dean sent out a call again for the requested officers to get to the Bridge as soon as they can, if they can. If not reply and check in some how.

"The shuttles are going to come in handy, and I think we will need them. We've got a big crew, and no idea when and if help is on the way." The Captain admitted sagely. The roaring continued, adding and eerie feel to the conversation. "Let's see what we have, and how much we have, so we can find out what we need."

In a metallic and tin voice Thenis said "Bridge, please be advised two of my team have found a hull breach of approximately three meter by five meter on deck three in the Jefferies tube region of 15, 16, and 17. They state local wildlife showing an interest but being held back by smoke from the fire. I have advised them to cautiously approach and seal all junctures that lead to the breach.”

"Understood Ensign, please keep us apprise of your progress on sealing the hull breech and your safety as well." Savar replied.

Aurora looked towards Rhenora. “I’m going to go and organize getting the children up here. Though I guess I’d best check the Ready room first.”

She headed across pausing outside the Ready Room door for a moment, as the door slid partially open before jamming She was relieved to see the room wasn’t too bad. “The room looks good, just needs a tidy!” Aurora smiled, at least there was some good news.

" If only we had time for a tidy." The Captain mused as reported slowly filtered in from the crew. The Cargo bays not completely destroyed in the crash were being used as medical bays, meaning their supplies would be very limited. No word from Engineering yet which mean the damage down there must be worse than she first thought. Sickbay were dealing with the worst of the injuries and slowly winning the battle. Outside more creatures started to gather.

"Savar, organize an away team to scout the local area"

"At once Captain. I believe the initial away team should be small. Mr. Maxwell, myself and perhaps two others. Do you have any recommendations, Captain? Also, how far would you have us scout from the ship?" Savar inquired.

"Far enough to find some suitable edible foodstuffs, and perhaps a place to set up camp if the Sunfire becomes uninhabitable. Perhaps take Mr House, and perhaps Patin, if anyone knows anything about survival, it's Patin" The Captain advised as she tried to get comfortable. " I fear we've got enough supplies for a few days, but we'll need to supplement those fairly soon."

Something was missing. Had to be...what the hell was it. Then it dawned on Dean what it was. Bonnie's voice, be it helpful or pissy, or throwing out this that or another. Even if it was razzing him. Tapping his comm badge. "Bonnie. Come in. Report."
