Mission: Gamma Quadrant
Location: Sunfire
Timeline: After the Battle

In the quiet hours after the battle the Sunfire crew shifted gears once again, from the high tension of fighting for their lives to putting the ship back together so they could get on with their mission.

Dean was working on what he could, of course, mostly their defence systems, weapons. Betty could wait for the moment as everything else needs to be fixed first.

~ Quarters ~

Aurora had returned to Quarters with her son, with everything that had recently happened her protective motherly instincts were in overdrive. Having settled Sidak into his crib she was sitting in the rocking chair in his room watching over him. Right now her duties didn’t seem as important as they had before.

Sitting in his quarters, Avarak had finally found a moment to meditate. It felt like he hadn’t had a spare moment since he arrived on the Sunfire, so he took this opportunity to finally center himself.

Medbay

She felt fine. They told her she should be fine. Sarah had reassured her there was nothing wrong. Between the gut check by a heavily built Jem'Hadar to the subsequent hitting of the Core and then the floor, Bonnie knew she would be a bit bruised but eventually okay. In fact she was trying hard to focus on getting back out there and seeing what sort of damage she was now going to have to fix.

The attending nurse came over, ran one last check with the med scanner, nodded her approval and left. Bonnie was free to leave, and considering there were many who were worse off, she was glad to be released. Promptly she sat up, spun around and dropped her small frame to the floor. Immediately everything felt 'off' somehow. There was a slight blurriness to her vision as she made her way through the throng of people and to the door. Passing it off as mild vertigo, she left the medbay and the people therein.

Captain Kaylen was patiently waiting in sickbay for Dr Wilson to be free to look at the gash on her forehead, it had been partially healed but would need further work to avoid scarring and to reduce the inflammation.
" Bonnie - are you ok?" She asked as the computer technician passed her, still not looking 100% right.

She was already half out of the door when she heard her name. Stopping and turning around quickly, everything spun for a moment and then stopped. She was looking at the Captain, "HmmMmm, I'm fine. Sarah and the nurses said so." She pointed awkwardly to her left with both hands, "I'm going to go start Core repairs, okay?"

Something was off with Bonnie, Rhenora couldn't put her finger on it. If the medical staff had checked her over though she couldn't persue it straight away. Making a mental note to check on the young technician when she left sickbay the Captain nodded and called "Don't work too hard!" as Bonnie headed down the corridor.

Bridge

Savar was on the bridge overseeing repairs as Rhenora was in Sickbay getting looked at. The ship and crew had both performed admirably. Improvements could be made to be sure but overall he had no complainants.

Dean had spend a good amount of time on his systems. Some of the damage wasn't going to be repaired without some replacement parts. Stepping off of the lift onto the Bridge.

"Commander," nodding and stepping over to his station. Setting up diagnostic mode.

"Mr. House." Savar acknowledged the tactical officer. "What is the status of the repairs to the tactical systems?"

"Other than what the diangnostics will probably say. There are some relays that have to be replaced. Two of the emitters could use it but they will function well enough for the moment. Obviously we'll need to replace our compliment of torpedoes full at Starbase. However, for now we aren't in danger of being low." Dean read off the top of his head.

The turbo lift doors hissed open as Avarak stepped on to the bridge and noticed Lieutenant House speaking with the XO. He waited for their conversation to be over before addressing the XO.

“Commander,” Avarak addressed the XO. “Repairs to the deflector dish have been completed, I am available if I am required elsewhere.”

"Very good Mr. Avarak, see if you can assist Mr. House in repairing the tactical systems. Especially the emitters and relays." Savar answered the science chief.

There was a glance given up to Avarak as he game in. Tilting his head to the side with a bit of a nod. "I would appreciate it," repeats what he told Savar.

Main Computer Core

Bonnie entered the Core room slowly as it was a hub of activity. There was a stream of engineering officers moving in and out, constantly on the go. They were tasked with repairing the damage done to the Core. At least almost all of them were busy.

There, in the center with his feet propped up on the console, sat her C shift counterpart Jeremy Abernathy. She walked over to him, her face showing her disdain on full display. "What are you doing, why aren't you helping?"

"Hey, good to see you're finally awake. And I am Supervising if you don't mind." He was snarky which only served to piss her off more.

"Supervising? You should be helping. Get off your butt and help." She was giving orders though they were the same rank.

"You're not the boss of me. I answer to Lt. Commander Klaren only and he told me to oversee the Core repairs. I'm just doing what I've been told."

The scream within her started small and grew increasingly bigger until she could contain it no more. "aaaAaaahhhHhhhhhh!" Her fists were balled up and she was rigid in all of her tiny might. She wanted to call him so many names but knew she needed to take her grievances up the chain of command. Flipping around she stormed off towards Engineering, leaving a laughing Jeremy in her wake.

An hour or so later, Captain Kaylen returned to the bridge, having been cleared from sickbay to return to duty, she headed up to see how the repairs were going.

"Updates?" She asked the bridge in general as she settled into her command chair.

Dean lifted his head, avoiding hitting it on one of the consoles. Keeping the tool in hand. Standing up all the way. "Captain." Taking a pause. "Well it would probably be a ball of fun for all of us to start speaking in turn for the next hour. Everything should have been sent to your chair, ma'am. Short story, well, short. We've still got some issues but work is going better than expected."

"That's all I need to know Mr. House - well done," The Captain remarked, pulling up the various reports that had been sent to the small console in her chair.

Reports indicated the Main Computer Core had been hit pretty hard, as well as shield and some structural systems. But all in all, the repairs should be completed in a handful of days. For the most part, the ship and her crew had gone through hell and come out the other side with only a few bumps and bruises. The safest thing to do was commit to repairs and then head back to Bajor with the crew of the freighter.

On the Sunfire, all was as well as could be. At least, for now.
