Come Together and Get the Hell Outta Dodge 2

Posted on Tue Oct 24th, 2023 @ 9:08pm by Lieutenant Sarah Wilson & Senior Chief Petty Officer Ronson Mitchell & Commander Dean House & Lieutenant Commander Thriss Kla'ren & Ensign Kitiuas Thenis & Lieutenant Thomas Haldeman & Lieutenant Commander Bonnie "Bon-Bon" Durnell & Lieutenant Alison Haldeman

Mission: Repairs and Retribution
Location: Kunar Space
Timeline: End Wrap-up

"My Lady there was a warp signature in the vicinity of where we suspected the Federation ship to be." reported the tactical officer. "Very well, inform the Vaillun to activate the surprise we left with the Vasrak. Have the Vaillum and the Tokol make all due haste to Orion space, and make sure the warp trail can be followed. Helm we are to set course for Federation space, ensure our warp trail is scattered, need to get my cousin back to the Federation. Tell that old salt dog, Siguyt, we are leaving, and he is free to do as he pleases." Tayshi ordered. "As you command my Lady." With that, the crew of the Thimmerand initiated the orders given. and shortly the ship was gone from the the system.

Kla'ren's voice came over the comm. "This is Lieutenant Kla'ren. I think that we can still use the transwarp drive to get us home. However, the fail-safe has been damaged during our trip to Kunar. With the fail-safe device damaged and possibly the drive too, we run a higher risk of overloading the injectors even more so than before. But I think that we can do it."

Dean was still standing from earlier, replying back, "Well how long would it take you and Bonnie to use the Borg transwarp conduit system that Lore's rogue Borg used? The Enterprise-D figured it out also after going through the transwarp rift."

Alison gave House a curious look, she was curious whether they’d be able to use a transwarp conduit safely.

"I suppose if Enterprise D did it then so can we. But it's a matter of figuring it out and deciding how our own drive plays into it. It's gonna take some time to figure it out, but I still recommend using our normal transwarp drive if we want to get the hell out of dodge fast. Not to mention, it also depends on where the closest conduit is located" the Chief Engineer reported honestly.

"Technically it sounded like a question, but it wasn't. Get Bonnie's sweet ass from where ever she is, should be Sickbay. Get her up here and work with Alison on it and get us out of here." Dean motioned a hand out also signifying, do it. Also completely straight-faced at the 'sweet ass' part.

SICKBAY

Having made herself small and unseen, Bonnie stood within the Medical bay waiting patiently for her turn to be scanned and released. She watched as Savar and Aurora were looked over, scanned, and injected with various painkillers and medications. She then turned and watched Patin, as she watched over her friends, Remal and the Captain. They cared for one another in ways Bonnie could only hope to find one day.

Dr Wilson looked up at the newcomer and headed over now that the majority of her patients were now all stable.

"Hey Bonnie" Sarah soothed as she headed over, armed with a tricorder and a caring smile.

Bonnie raised one hand before just as quickly returning it to her state of folded arms. "Hey Doctor, what's the good word?" She asked simply. She kept stealing glances at the Bajoran trio in the corner in between watching the doctor run her scans. Her focus was in short supply, as it were.

Sarah scanned her with a tricorder and nodded at the results. "You seem in pretty good shape, no obvious injuries or anything, vitals are all good. Adrenaline is still up a bit but that's to be expected, you're good to go"

The doors parted and in entered an out-of-breath Chief Petty Officer with a friendly yet familiar face. He looked like he had run down several flights of stairs in order to deliver a verbal message despite wearing a commbadge like everyone else in their right mind.

Ronson looked around for Bonnie and spied her being checked by the doc. "Scuse Doc, Lt Durnell is needed on the bridge urgently." He said, before catching Sarah's glare. "If she's ok of course" He stammered quickly at the end.

Bonnie looked at the Doctor, her face flush with embarrassment. She gritted her teeth, "Sorry doctor, looks like I'm needed on the bridge. That is, you know, if... if you're done?" She doubled back on her words as she was prone to do.

"I'm done, physically you're good, make sure you check in with the counselor though if you still feel on edge after a day or so" Sarah added as Bonnie and Ronson headed for the doors.

As they hurried back to the turbolift, Bonnie noted aloud, "You know you could have just messaged me Ronnie. You didn't have to run all the way here. Besides, what mess has our Pretty Boy gotten into that he needs my help with this time?" The lift arrived and they stepped inside.

"I wanted to make sure you were really ok" Ronson said with a smile as the lift started it's ascent. "As for the Boss, I think he just wants to get the hell out of here"

"I'm fine, really." She provided him with her normal half smile. "And so do I Ronnie. I felt the ship jump to warp, what more could he possibly want us to do?" She asked, more rhetorically than directed at Ronson.

BRIDGE

The lift doors opened and Bonnie proceeded around the bridge until she was face to face with Dean, or slightly to the side a bit. "You, um, summoned me, my lord." She added with a smarmy glare.

"Yes, I did, fair maiden. Firstly, are you okay?" Dean waited for that answer before anything else.

From the Ops console, Tom listened to the banter between House and Bonnie and wondered what if anything he needed to do.

"Status?" stated Tayshi.

"We are currently in the warp trail of the Sunfire which should dilute their signature. All systems are showing good." replied her First Officer.

"Good, maintain until we are back in Federation space." stated Tayshi. She looked over at her cousin "I have made a very large sum of gold-pressed latinum, got some well-deserved justice and allowed an old friend to get some revenge also. When you return to your ship, please relay my thanks to your captain and crew; plus, these five bars of gold-pressed latinum."

"Ahh Sir, I don't want to break up your moment, but we should haul ass out of here before the Orion's device goes boom" Ronson cleared his throat.

After having been asked the same basic question three times within the last ten minutes or so, Bonnie was outwardly showing some frustration with the question itself. "I'm fine." She answered before hearing Ronson's comment and immediately began wondering if he needed a lesson in understanding how 'faster then light' travel worked. They were already at warp and no explosion, apart from a red matter implosion into subspace would effect them in any way.

"Now, what is it you needed, Captain?" She asked Dean with a tongue spin on the last word, well aware anyone else could have probably done what he was about to ask of her. They were all very talented and from her limited perspective, she did not have anything to offer more than they.

"I could have come over and hugged you and made a big deal about it." Dean nodded to Ronson and back to Bonnie, "So, yeah about my little idea."

She pondered his request for a moment, "Sure, I mean if we use a tachyon matrix through the main deflector utilizing an alternating bandwidth between the bands, aaaandd we can find a conduit within this region. It's possible, but..." She paused as she looked around the room and then back at Dean. "...we haven't mapped the conduits. Meaning we could end up anywhere between here and, and, oblivion." She finished, pulling herself back a bit. She had been using her hands animatedly again.

"That was pretty much the idea, though from what I read, this way doesn't use the conduits. We just have to get the exit coordinates right. Right?" Deans head tilted.

She shook her head no slowly, then looked over at Tom and Allison, "Using the long-range sensors, scan ahead for a signal along the tertiary end of the subspace spectrum. If you see anything, at all," she said with skepticism in her voice. "That should get us an opening or a relay or something we can use." Then she looked back at Dean, "Might just be faster to continue at high warp." She knew it was the riskier route but at this point, they were at least on their way.

Scoffs a little bit, "How about, test it working so next time we've got it ready to use. Consider it a project for later to completely incorporate into the ship." Dean gave his pretty boy grin. "Continue on course, thar matey. Be booty in them thar...places of not here in the Trade Company waters." Musing a little, "Ale for everyone!"

Ronson looked around with a raised eyebrow, covering a smirk. "Tally ho then" he checked the sensors "no sign of pursuit Sir, eta to the nearest Starbase is 5 days. Finally it seemed the crisis was over.
