Not exactly as planned

Posted on Thu Oct 6th, 2022 @ 9:42am by Captain Rhenora Kaylen & Lieutenant Sarah Wilson & Commander Savar cha'Salik hei-Surak Talek-sen-deen & Lieutenant Commander Aurora Vali & Lieutenant JG T’Neela

Mission: *CD*
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Prior to current mission

The doors to Sickbay opened to reveal a wet, shivering and minorly injured Aurora, Savar, and a soaking wet Rhenora. Grateful to be out of the holodeck, she didn’t plan on using one again anytime soon.

"Doctors. I need assistance." Savar called out as he entered Sickbay with Aurora and Rhenora both who were soaking wet and chilled to the bone.

One of the nurses appeared with two warming blankets, they were ones used especially for victims of the cold, whatever way it was encountered. “Here you go Commander.” She handed one to Savar to wrap around Aurora, whilst she wrapped the other around Rhenora.

“Let’s get you both warmed up while you’re waiting.” She motioned to two nearby biobeds, “Take a seat I’ll be right back.” Heading away She soon returned with a portable heater, which she placed where they could both feel it. “The Doctor will be with you both shortly.”

Aurora sat on the biobed grateful for the blanket, and warmth of the small heater. “What I’d give to be at home wrapped up in my cosy nightwear, and furry blanket!”

"Patience Aurora. When we return to our quarters. I will fix you a hot teddy (He means toddy) that should warm you sufficiently." Savar answered even as he rubbed her hands

Dr Wilson appeared a few moments later, picking up tricorder on approach and giving Savar a glance that said 'what happened here?'. She scanned both of them, an easy task considering the close proximity of the biobed.

"Well whatever it was you two got up to, apart from some cuts and abrasions which I will deal with shortly, your body temperatures are a little low, but otherwise you're both fine. Or will be in an hour" she amended quickly as she continued to scan them.

"It was a malfunctioning holodeck program doctor." Savar said simply as he dripped on the Sickbay floor.

" Just a malfunctioning holodeck program" Wilson replied as she finished taking her scans and replicated them both a warm drink. Whilst they drank to raise their body temperature she grabbed a dermal regenerator and repaired their superficial injuries, making sure the warming blankets were in place.

"Yes Doctor." Savar answered, "Apparently it was one of a tropical resort and it malfunctioned and created a hurricane trapping the Captain and Aurora and causing both their injuries and drenched state as well as their lower body temperature."

“We were enjoying a nice relax on the beach before it all went pear shaped!” Aurora snuggled up in her blanket. “That’s my last trip to the holodeck for a little while.”

"Sounds like it would have been perfect, you know except for the hurricane and all." Sarah quipped as she finished up healing the bumps and bruises. "You're free to go, take a warm bath, some warm liquids and you're both off duty until tomorrow.”

Aurora nodded. “Thank you Sarah.” She slid down off the biobed and took hold of Savar’s arm. “Let’s go home, I’m looking forward to changing into something soft and snuggly.”

Savar patted her arm. "A most excellent idea Aurora." He said before looking back at Rhenora. "You should also go to your quarters captain, have some hot coffee."

“How’s about we walk together?” Aurora smiled as she looked towards Savar. “We can see Rhenora home, then head home ourselves.”

"Certainly Aurora. That is most agreeable." Savar answered. "That will be a most enjoyable walk."

Rhenora nodded her accent, wrapping the warm blanket around herself, partially for her own modesty and partially because she was still cold. A warm bath and a hot drink would do wonders for them all.
