Crash landing

Posted on Wed Oct 5th, 2022 @ 11:55pm by Lieutenant Commander Aurora Vali

Mission: Planet of the Dinosaurs
Location: Counsellor’s Office

Aurora awoke, opening her eyes hoping to find that the whole nightmare crash had been nothing but a bad dream.

She remembered finishing off her daily report when the red alert had sounded. She was about to head out of her office, but the view from the window had caught her attention first. A million things running through her head before all hell had broken loose, her massive fear of losing Sidak making her race out to find him and protect him.

She’d made it to the ship’s nursery just as the ship had hit the deck. She and everyone there were tossed around like chew toys in a puppy’s mouth, last she remembered was her head connecting with the wall.

Slowly getting up from the debris pile of chairs, desks, books and toys Aurora dabbed the blood from by her eye as she searched for her son, amazed to find Sidak and most of the other children safely huddled together in a group protected by the nursery staff and a couple of other parents.

“We err... we have to get out of here!” She gently lifted Sidak, right now the importance was to follow crash procedures. Get the living, and wounded off the ship, then return for any other survivors. She just hoped Savar was alright, she couldn’t feel him her head wound affecting her senses. She just had to hope he was alive. “Emergency procedures! Clear the ship!”

She paused her head was thumping, and still bleeding but she didn’t have time to stop and worry about it now. She needed to help get her son, and the other children to safety, they could pick up emergency supplies and rations on the way.

All she could do was hope Savar would know what she’d do, that she’d find Sidak and get him to safety. She had to have faith that she’d see her beloved husband again.
