Mission:
*CD*
Location: Gym
Timeline: TBD
Savar stood in the Sunfire's gym. He was waiting for Commander House to arrive for a sparring match in which he (Savar) would attempt to teach Commander House the Vulcan nerve pinch. he was not very optimistic on his success. Still, it was an opportunity for himself and House to become more unified as a command team. Like he and Captain Kaylen who was still on leave had become. He let his mind wander to Captain Kaylen, he was optimistic she was alright on her mission to find out who was killing members of her former resistance cell and returned to her rightful place as captain of the Sunfire.
However until such time he would command and as the humans said 'keep the seat warm' until her return. His mind snapped back to the present and his upcoming session with Commander House. He was hopeful that the session would give each of them a better understanding of the other and their respective styles.
That was particularly surprising to even get the offer to be honest. Yes, Dean and Savar had discussed it. Though he also didn't want it to be to soon since Savar was still recovering. As far as Dean knew anyway. Also Aurora would kill him if he hurt Savar. At least more than the Vulcan could handle. Coming in, in just some martial black pants, for movement, and a black tank top. Giving a glance a moment and then spotting Savar, moving over to him. "Sir."
Savar nodded by the way of reply, "Mr. House" He greeted as he looked over the other man and his outfit. Savar himself was dressed in grey sweatpants and a white t-shirt. it allowed him freedom of movement for this sparring session. "Thank you for coming for what should be an interesting and informative session."
One of the Ensigns currently on duty in Security was going through the feeds, since, that sometimes is a thing. Noticing that Savar and Dean were in the gym. It already looked like they were about to go at it. He quickly got a 'text' message out to the crew that said "Neo's about to fight Morpheus." A definite throwback to the very old, at that point movie The Matrix. Giving a link to those who wanted to watch.
Bonnie, who was monitoring the CORE, got the notification and recognized the reference, and was instantly curious to see who they were talking about. When she realized it was Commander Savar and Dean, her eyes went wide with a smile. She threw the feed up on her big-screen monitor and instantly wished she had some popcorn to mow down on.
"I'm not sure if I should say you're welcome, or thank you for agreeing to it. Are you sure you're up to this? Your wife will kill me if something were to happen, Commander." Dean gave a nod.
“Damn right I would” Aurora nodded as she appeared for her exercise session in the gym. She hadn’t been expecting to walk in on this.
Niali was furious, she had found out what the message was about and entered the gym with righteous fire. “What is going on here? Commander Savar you have only just been released from sickbay and I will return you there as unfit for duty unless you give this ridiculous….whatever this is up. And you Mr. House, you should know better.” She stood there with her hands on her hips waiting.
Dean glanced over to Aurora and then the Doctor. "We're having a friendly session."
"Indeed," Savar said as he looked first to Aurora and then Niali
"Further, while Mr. House suffers from an overabundance of confidence. I am dismayed that you Aurora seem to make so little of my ability to defend myself." He looked to Niali, "Doctor, I assure you that I am fine."
Aurora looked towards her husband. “I do not doubt your ability Imzadi. I am simply being a concerned wife.” She offered a smile.
Sandra stayed quiet as she strode into the gym. She knew what was going on and resisted a chuckle although her face gave her away. Walking over to her area of the gym, she put down her bag and pulled out her armband weights. Putting them on, she began her arm exercises. These exercises gave her the strength to maintain long hours in her fighter. It was something she had her pilots do the same, and they did too.
But the conversations and goings on by the others, now made it impossible for her to keep a straight face and she laughed at House. "House do you know that you have the innate way of making me laugh? I just can't help it. You are a very humorous individual", Sandra said mid chuckle.
Dean gave a glance over to Sandra a moment, tilting his head. "I guess that's a good thing?" There was a pause, "Why are all of you suddenly showing up? I don't recall anyone being called to join Commander Savar and I."
"Well....," began Sandra...."This is my exercise time and I had no way of knowing both of you or anyone else was here. It is an open gym, is it not? Unless you reserve it for just yourselves," she said smiling coyly at House.
"You may use the rest of the gym as you see fit, Sandra. We simply reserved a session between us. Which everyone seems to be completely interested in as if this is some cage fight." Dean gave a glance and head nod to the Doctor and Aurora.
"Well all I need really is just a corner and I will be done shortly as I have my fighters to tend to. However, thankyou House for allowing me to finish my time," Sandra said smiling sheepishly.
Meanwhile, Jennifer was on the bridge, the Sunfire powering towards the distress call. She saw the message and pulled up the feed in the small display embedded in the armrest. It would be interesting to watch.
Having already had his stint doing his circuit training, Finchley walked out of the changing room and saw a number of the Senior Staff gathered together. Curious as to what was happening, he walked over to where Sandra was and asked "Was there a call for us to meet here for something?"
"Not that I'm aware of, Finchley. Commander Savar were just going to work on a few things." Dean gave a little look, considering how everyone was showing up regardless.
"Funny how things do happen unexpectedly, and when you least expect them," Sandra said, smiling warmly at Dean.
"Except for the fact that, this has turned into some kind of something. It's not like we're going to do a death match. Yet, now, Sandra. It's a main event." Dean pointed up to the monitors that Bonnie had switched over to show the gym.
"In that case" Finchley replied to Sandra "I'll leave this to you and anyone who's looking on this as some kind of spectacle, sounds very much like they're not wanting it to be so I'll respect that if no-one else will" and he turned and left the gym.
“You will be pleased to know that I however am not leaving.” Said Niali who took herself over to a bench seat, sat down and crossed her legs.
From her room, monitoring the CORE, Bonnie threw a bit of popcorn at the screen. "Boo! Bring on the fight already!" She hollered playfully. "I've got a fiver on the Vulcan! Show Pretty-boy who's boss... like literally!" She yelled. They were friends and while she knew Dean could probably hold his own in a fight, her Papa had told her to never underestimate a Vulcan.
Dean gave a little glance to Finchley. No one had said he or anyone had to leave, nor that he couldn't take next. If that's what they were going to do. It was just already discussed between 'Neo' fighting 'Morpheus' first. Dean was ready, all they had to do was get on the mat and make sure to state terms.
Savar watched as Kerr left the gym. He looked over to House. What was meant to be a private sparring session had grown into what the crew saw as a public fight between himself and House.
Niali had had enough, she stood. “Everyone apart from Commander Savar and Commander House leave the gym now, and if I discover that anyone has little enough to do than to be watching, and you know who you are. Then when I find you I will GIVE you something else to do.” She sat down and looked at her PaDD.
Dean gave a glance over to Niali a moment, raising an eyebrow curiously. "I don't have a problem with them there, unless you do, Commander." His gaze returning to Savar.
"No problem whatsoever. Commander." Savar replied his voice even. As far as he was concerned this was a private session between him and House.
“Well I do Commanders, and what I say goes or I will return you to the sick list Commander Savar.”
Finchley, who had been on his way out of the gym so as to leave the two Senior Officers to carry on their off duty wishes, suddenly turned and headed back when he heard what, and how, the CMO had said.
Walking right up and standing in front of Niali he said "Stand to Lieutenant and that's an order! This is an off duty setting, don't you DARE speak to Senior Officers like that, you have no right nor jurisdiction to do so, am I perfectly clear!!! If these two officers wish to carry on doing what they're doing they 'will', if others wish to stay and watch, so long as they, and he gestured to Savar and Dean, don't mind, then they will stay. Don't overreach yourself, or your authority, one more word from you and I'll remove you from here myself...am I perfectly clear on this? Don't test my patience or my resolve, you're attitude towards Senior Officers and how you speake to them since arriving onboard has been rude and disrepectful from the off and I won't stand for it any longer. You will at ALL times show respect to their rank and standing on this ship, if it doesn't improve to to show this then I personally will be contacting to Starfleet Medical to report this, again, am I 'perfectly' clear?"
He looked Niali straight in the eye, daring her to argue back, it would be the catalyst he would take to send in the report about her woeful attitude.
Niali drew herself up to her full height she was not about to be railroaded Commander Kerr I may be just a Lieutenant but I am Chief Medical Officer aboard this ship, and If I say Commander Savar is not yet fit enough to be here then he is not fit to be here. Commander Saver you will accompany me to sickbay now. Commander Kerr you may report me to whom you think fit. Commander Saver?” She waited for him to follow her.
Finchley looked at Niali and replied "If the Commander feels he is fit enought to do this, then he's fit to do this, this is your last chance Lieutenant, stand down or take the consequences" he tapped his badge and said "Security to the gym."
“Commander I will not stand down, Commander Savar is not medically trained, has had a substantial brain insult, if I had known he was going to do this then I would not have released him from Sickbay. He advised me he would be on the Bridge or rest didn’t you not Commander Savar?”
"Commander savar feels he's fit and able to carry out this request from Commander House otherwise he wouldn't have taken this on" Finchley replied "If he didn't believe it to be as such, he wouldn't have said yes. Your crass Napoleon complex attitude towards your superiors has gone on long enough and now stops here!"
He watched as two Security officers entered the gym and came over to where everyone was standing. Looking towards Miali he added "Last chance before you're escorte out of here Lieutenant, stop with the attitude, or leave."
Savar had heard and seen enough. he looked at Kerr and the CMO. "Enough Mr. Kerr." He looked at the security officers, "You may leave, your serices are not needed." As the officers left, he turned back to Kerr and Niali. "Mr. Kerr, while I admire your dedication you have overstepped your authority. Dr. Niali, is the Chief Medical Officer and well within her authority to stop this if she feels there is a danger to me. While I feel I am fine. She is the medical expert not you or me." He turned to the CMO, "I did go to the bridge Doctor and then came here. However I have no wish to be confined to Sickbay after just leaving it so I will refrain from the sparring match with Mr. House."
Finchley smirked at Savar "As you wish Commander."
Turning to the CMO, he said "When we're next back on duty Lieutenant, I will have a word with you about your attitude, be sure of it."
“Commander Kerr, I have been nothing but polite and respectful since I arrived on board. What I do not like is finding there is a running book on the outcome of” she indicated the gym “this sparring session. That is certainly not professional and I shall be making a report to the Captain when she returns. Ships officers should know better. I will also be making my own recommendation to Starfleet. I do have respect for your rank but you do not seem to have any respect for my profession sir.” She turned and walked out of the gym.
"Say nothing else Commander Kerr." Savar warned the officer. "Let this go. and you will not say anything to the Doctor when you are both back on duty. A word of advice as well, Stay clear of Sickbay for the immediate future."
Again, Finchley just smirked at Savar answering "By your leave Commander."
Savar resisted a sharp reply instead he simply said "Mr. Kerr, that will be enough.''
Finchley simply looked at Savar and waited to see what would happen in the gym next.
Sandra just stood there with a dumb look on her face. The exchange between the two officers did not leave room for any words or thoughts. Thinking to herself ,'Ok what the hell just happened?'
Commander Baldric continued to follow the altercation from the bridge, shaking her head sadly. What had appeared to start off as a friendly competition that had the potential to bring the crew together had ended up with several layers of altercation bordering on insubordination. She quietly made so notes on those involved for future reference.
"That is enough! Everyone stop where you are!" Uh oh..Dean was using his command voice. That couldn't been good. "This has gotten completely out of hand." Point to Finchley, "You were out of line." Looks to Niali, "As were you." Also signaling for Security to stand down. "You cleared Commander Savar for duty and how his free time off duty is his business. We also talked about this before hand. I understand your concerns, but both of you pulling weight, or trying to. Is unbecoming of you both. If we wish to have a learning session or a spar, that's up to us."
Dean glanced to Savar, "I'm sorry sir, I have no problem with the bets. The crew needs something to focus on to start with. I didn't expect it but we should let it go. Everyone else that wants to use the gym while this goes on is welcome to. If that is not understood, and you don't care to listen. Considering I am the Executive Officer for now, you can file a complaint with me. Either back down, be civil, or go to your quarters until your duty shift. Is. That. Clear."
Niali turned to Commander House, her tone low and respectful but firm. “I cleared Commander Saver for bridge duty only, not for sparring in the gym and he knows this. If my medical knowledge and care is being questioned then I can no longer continue as your CMO aboard this ship.” She turned away as she did not want anyone to see that she was now becoming emotional. It seemed that her medical knowledge was not respected neither was her person.
Finchley looked towards Dean and replied "Of course Commander."
At that point, his COMM badge chirruped and Karadis voice came through "Commander Kerr, it's Karadis, we have another message from Admiral Jorkins in Serenity One, you'll want to see this, they've found proof Sir."
Tapping his badge he replied "Thank you Karadis, I'll be there momentarily, Kerr out", and closed the link.
Turning back to Savar and Dean he said "Please excuse me Sirs", turned and left the gym.
