I do believe it is Independence Day for my Northern living crew. I hope the day was filled with family and friends.
I also happens to be the 24th anniversary of this fleet forming. Yes we've been around THAT long, there are a handful of us who have been around since those early days.
Leaving thoughts of middle age and decrepitness aside, please see the below anniversary link..there's some cool stuff going on there :)

Mission: Character Development
Posted on Mon Jan 19th, 2026 @ 1:30am by Patin
The jungle never pretended to give privacy. It offered cover, not silence, layers of sound instead of walls, a thousand living things speaking at once so no single voice could pretend it was alone. Heat pressed in gently but insistently, damp air clinging to skin, to breath, to thought. Zio sat on a fallen log darkened by age and moss, rifle broken down across her knees, the metal warm where the day had touched it. The smell of oil mixed with loam and crushed leaves, sharp and grounding, a scent that had followed her through decades of surviving. She cleaned…

Mission: Character Development
Posted on Sun Jan 18th, 2026 @ 9:30pm by Commander Jennifer Baldric & Commander Dean House
Dean lead or rather, escorted Jennifer off of the Trubolift, down the curling corridor to his quarters. Once inside, calling for the lights to come on. She knew his quarters and where things were and should know that she had free reign to every part of it. "Should we take a shower? I promise no hanky panky. I just figure you want to wash the stench of Coy off, I probably smell also."
She hesitated for a moment before nodding, not trusting herseld or her judgement at this point. Coy was 'unhinged' to put it mildly, and the straighty 180…

Mission: Character Development

The air felt wrong before the storm announced itself.
Zio noticed it the way she noticed everything else, not as a single sign, but as a stack of small betrayals. The humidity pressed heavier against her skin, turning sweat slick and insistent. The birds called too often, overlapping, correcting themselves mid-note. Even her prosthetic leg resisted a fraction longer than usual when she shifted her weight, the internal stabilizers compensating for ground that had begun to soften before the rain arrived.
It’s coming, she thought, adjusting her pace without signaling the change. And it’s watching.
She stopped at the edge…

Mission: Beholder

Captain Kaylen Rhenora strode onto the bridge at the Alpha shift handover, 0600 was never her strong suit but she had arrived a few minutes early to watch the shift change. There was something magical about the handover, a quiet coming and going, updates being given, crew nodding in understanding then taking their seats.
Rhenora took her own seat, the gamma shift officer of the watch announcing they were 6 hours from arrival at Skygowan, and that the planet had sent no further updates. Ronson appeared from nowhere with a cup of coffee and handed it to her quietly before…

The jungle smelled different after first light.
Sap warmed and thinned. Damp earth released a coppery tang where blood had soaked in earlier. Insects returned cautiously, testing the air with short, tentative clicks. Even the leaves sounded altered now, less brittle, more forgiving, as if the world had decided the night’s dangers were finished.
Zio knew better.
She moved deeper into the southern canopy, where the trees grew closer together and the light fractured into narrow, uncertain bands. Her prosthetic leg adjusted automatically to the uneven terrain, internal gyros compensating for roots and sudden drops. She felt the faint resistance…

» USS Sunfire — Acting Command Log - Bajoran Satellite Transfer
Posted on Fri Dec 5th, 2025 @ 6:38pm by Commander Jenna Ramthorne
Commander Jenna Lee Ramthorne, Bridge
Orbital track remains stable over Bajor’s northern hemisphere. Power levels nominal, comm buoy array holding lock. Current duty shift cycling cleanly.
At 1427 hours, Deep Space Nine signaled priority contact. Colonel Kira Nerys appeared on main viewer. Her report was short and to the point: the replacement control satellite had passed all station-level diagnostics and was ready for handover. Requested Sunfire to retrieve, position, and complete final activation protocols. Authorization codes transmitted and verified.
Acknowledged the order and initiated retrieval preparations.
Helm plotted a straight-line course from our current orbital anchor to DS9 at three-quarter…

Personal Log, Leo Da’Cinci — Supplemental
(Confidential. Not for official record. If ye’re readin’ this, put it back where ye found it, or I’ll throttle ye with me own spanner.)
I woke up this mornin’ to the bloody computer chirpin’ in me ear again. 0600 hours sharp, no mercy, no consideration. “Good mornin’, Lieutenant Da’Cinci,” it says, as though I’m about to spring out of bed with a smile. Ha! I roll over, mumble a curse or three, and slap the console ‘til it shuts up. Truth be told, if the ship herself didn’t need me, I’d never leave the…

Personal Log:
Entry 2
The transfer to the USS Sunfire is still pending. The ship hasn't arrived at Deep Space 9 yet, and so I am left to wait. I've been spending my time in my quarters, staring out the window at the endless parade of vessels docked at the station's ring. My gaze keeps drifting back to my own ship, the Achilles-class I brought here, a testament to my own work. Seeing it so close only makes my current assignment feel more… ordinary.
I have been officially assigned the position of Chief Strategic Operations Officer. In a time of…

Kitiuas stepped into her new quarters, much larger do to the fact it was designated for family.
Kasso looked up from the kitchen nook 'Well you look like a warmed over korgasant." said Kasso as she stirred something in the Orion firepot in front of her. Kit could smell the rich spices and sizzling food and smiled.
Kit replied, "I feel like a warmed over korasant. I need to take a shower before I nurse . Where is Astraea by the way?"
Kasso nodded to the side of the counter, there was a small Orion rocker crib. "I finally got…

Alright, here it is. Quinn's final request before I ship out. A personal log. I’ve never seen the point of one of these. My memory is, and always has been, perfect. But I obliged. As I always do with him.
I'm packing now. Or, what passes for packing. The reality modulator is humming, folding my few possessions into pocket-sized singularities. A few tools, my meditation sphere, the memories. The memories are what feel heaviest.
It's strange, but the thought of this new post on the Sunfire brings everything back to the beginning. Or, rather, the end. My end. I still…
