Personal History Due to having three older brothers, they made sure that she learned how to defend herself through Kendo. When she wasn’t learning the ways of Kendo from her brothers, Olivia was having to learn how to tend to their injuries. No matter what her parents tried to do, Olivia’s brothers always seemed to find a way to get into one fight or another. Several of the fights tended to be about her and she had trouble at times figuring out why her brothers felt the need to get into a physical fight on her behalf. Sometimes her brothers would tell her and other times they kept the reasoning to themselves, even when their parents got onto them about so much fighting.

Many times when she was younger, Olivia felt that she got shortchanged in the height department due to all three brothers being so much taller than her. Due to her short height, Olivia learned early on how to be selective on battles she picked to handle herself and what to let her brothers handle for her.

Ice skating has always been one of the interest for Olivia and enjoying doing a bit competitive with it throughout her youth and still do a bit of ice skating in her free time. Over the years, Olivia competed in a few ice skating competitions and had a decent showing at several of the competitions.

Olivia learned from her parents early on that she had several options for when she got ready to choose a career path once she got old enough to make a decision. Her parents let her know that there was several different options to choose from through Starfleet Academy, Trill Initiate Program, and several different training programs on the Trill home world. Olivia’s parents wanted to make sure that she knew all the available options that were available to her. Her brothers were also given the same information at the time when they had to start considering their different options.

When the time came, Olivia did applications for both Starfleet Academy and the Initiate Program to be a candidate for joining with a symbiont. Olivia knew that both options would be challenging, but she knew she could handle whatever challenges she would face with whichever program she got accepted into. It took several months and sitting for some exams, but Olivia got accepted into both Starfleet Academy and the Trill Initiate program. Even though she got word about being accepted into both programs at the same time, Olivia made the decision to start with Starfleet Academy in order to gain more experience and training before going through the Initiate Program.

When she graduated from Starfleet Academy, Olivia got word that she placed on a wait list now for going through the initiate program. If she had chosen to do the program first, then she would not have had to wait, but since she went through Starfleet Academy first, Olivia would have to wait a bit longer. There were many applications that had been submitted and some of the candidates were still be processed to go through the program and see how well they would handle the rigors of harsh training physically and mentally. Olivia understood the need for having to wait to a degree, and looked forward to being able to eventually enter the program and prove herself.

Making it through the initiate program without having to ask for help was a huge accomplishment for Olivia, for it showed that she could undertake big goal that she set for herself without having to depend on her family or others for every little thing. Olivia knew that there were some out there that felt because of who her parents were or because of where her brothers had accomplished before her in either their studies or physical training, she wouldn’t be able to match what they did over time. She set the goal to prove herself one way or another that she could handle just about anything that was given to her over time, even if it took a bit longer than normal depending on what was being handled.

Voight’s Previous Hosts: Jolinar (Lingustics), Tolin (Security), Quirves (Engineering)

Olivia is the fourth host for her symbiont Voight. It is from the host Jolinar that she got the love of playing the flute and added working knowledge of different languages. Tolin had a love for Hapkido, so he constantly worked on honing his knowledge and physical technique over the years. This knowledge gives Olivia even more insight to the craft that her brothers didn’t teach her over the years when she was younger. Quirves had a love of competitive gymnastics when he was younger and even through his Academy days.

Previous Duty Stations:

USS Babylon: Medical Officer: served as a junior medical officer. Spent some time on a Klingon ship during an exchange program to learn a bit more about the medical practices on a Klingon ship. At the end of her time on the Klingon ship, Olivia was gifted a Klingon dagger.

During the time that Olivia spent over on a Klingon ship during the exchange program, she sustained a few injuries while there. Several of the injuries were obtained while going through the training that the normal officers of the ship were scheduled to handle. Some days, Olivia felt that she was being singled out on some of the training and having to endure a bit more than the other officers, yet she pushed through the pain to show she wasn’t a weak officer.

Trill Initiate Program: Olivia spent the better part of a year going through both the physical and mental challenges of the program to be considered a candidate for joining with a symbiont. It was not an easy task, but well worth the fight. Some of the physical challenges were a bit easier than others over the course of time, but Olivia pushed her way through completing each and every one of them. She fought to get high marks on each of the tests that was put in front of her. When she finally completed everything, Olivia got lucky to a degree on being selected as soon as she did without having to go on another wait list to be joined with one of the symbionts. The host for her symbiont had been badly injured and in order to save the symbiont, the host had been placed in temporary statis and brought back to the Trill home world. Olivia was visiting with family for a couple of days when she got the word to report to the caves of Mak’ala where the few symbionts that were not currently joined and being cared for by a select few care takers. The joining process took a while, due to Voight’s previous host back out of the temporary statis and then giving her a little time to chat with Quirves before Voight was removed and then placed into her own abdominal pouch. It was an odd feeling right after the placement and it took a bit of time for Olivia to get used to not only having all the extra memories but also get used to the thoughts of her symbiont. She had to learn out to separate her thoughts and memories from those of her symbiont.

Two months after the joining, Olivia got her new orders to report to a different ship. Olivia had thought she might get the chance to return to the Babylon, but knew that there might be the chance of not returning and that was why she had packed all of her belongings that she had with her onboard the ship when she got the chance to finally go through the initiate program.
