Mission: Masimal

Medical Lab

Dr Tarsis worked tirelessly for hours to save Dr Wilson, with only the Captain and Savar to assist. They couldn't risk any further exposure to the rest of the crew.

After a few moments, then a few minutes without any critical alarms blaring, the good doctor dared to breathe. "I think she'll be ok. It will be a while until she's out of the woods though."

Meanwhile Dean and Aurora were still behind the quarantine field, infected but naturally immune.
"Alright you two, let's get back to our antidote. I have a working trial serum and need a volunteer." Tarsis approached them both wearily.

“I think you know the answer to that one Doctor” Aurora offered a brief smile as she and Dean exchanged glances.

Savar along with Rhenora helped Tarsis as he worked to save Dr. Wilson. It was a long, drawn out struggled but the doctor's skill and preservice turned the tide as he announced that he thought Sarah would be okay. Savar looked through the quarantine field at Aurora. *Continue to be strong Aurora. I am here for you.* He sent through their bond. To Tarsis he asked, "Is there anything I can assist you with Doctor?"

"Help me monitor them as I administer the antidote" Tarsis explained as he beamed two hypos into the quarantine field. "I want you both to take one dose each." The Doctor explained.

Aurora nodded. “Understood” she looked towards Savar as she picked up her hypospray, passing the other to Dean. “Here goes nothing…” she moved to a biobed to lie down just incase anything should happen, then administered the hypo and waited, it didn’t take long before her body and the antidote were at war with another. Which would win remained to be seen.

Savar's eyes were locked and focused on Aurora has she administered the antidote to herself as she lay on the biobed. Now the hardest part began, the waiting.

"Your turn Mr. House." He intoned calmly.

Dean glanced at the hypo a moment. Reaching up to press it to his neck. Also moving over to help monitor Aurora should something happen, he could be their hands. "Alright then."

Tarsis displayed Aurora's vital signs on a nearby screen watching them fluctuate as the antidote did battle with the pathogen her body was already fighting. Made from her own blood sample it should be readily accepted by her system. Should.

"How are you feeling Aurora?" He asked.

“Like I’m fighting a battle with myself” Aurora offered the best smile she could muster. “I swear, I want some time off after this!”

"You are doing fine Aurora. Continue to stay strong. As for some time off, I believe that can be arranged." Savar replied calmly as he continued to watch Aurora's biosigns.

Aurora offered a smile, she needed to be strong she had their children waiting for her safe return. “I’m not giving up Imzadi, I’ll win this.”

"There is no doubt in my mind that you will prevail Aurora. You are a most determined woman when the situation demands it such as this." Savar replied evenly but there was a glint in eyes. He knew Aurora would prevail in this battle.

Tarsis watched their bitalsigns closely but refrained from intervening. Within an hour the pathogen had nearly been eliminated.

Shuttlebay

Baldric waited for Stevens to speak as the rest of the shuttles took off and began the days work.

A short time later shuttle Alpha caught up with the rest of the squad as they descended into the atmosphere, heading for the farmlands where they left off the day before then the nearest city after that. Baldric expected a smooth day as the previous had been for the most part. There was always the potential for things to turn to pot though.

Bridge

Bonnie wasn't needed on the shuttles, not today anyway. She also wasn't medically trained aside from the standard field wrap, hypo injection for a boo-boo. She was also avoiding sickbay after hearing how Dean had placed himself in harms way, again. He was always doing that, as was the nature of his job. That did not help her feel any better about the situation.

Instead, the was assisting with the coordination for shuttles currently flying recovery efforts. Sort of like air traffic control once did for ground to air traffic on Earth, before computers took over. With the heavy atmospheric congestion of organic particles, having eyes in the sky seems prudent.

Ronson worked from one of the rear workstations, feeding information through to the various departments as required. "Next target, zero point 5 kilometres south west of your location" he commented to one of the shuttles. "Smallish farms, number of occupants unknown."

He turned during a lull and addressed Bonnie, "Do you think we might actually pull this off? I mean the medical ship is due to arrive tomorrow" he sounded almost hopeful.

She continued to plug away at her console while she answered, "I don't know, but knowing this crew, probably. I've never known them to give up or give in and allow someone else to step in. We're tenacious like that. I bet when that medical ship arrives, all they will have left to do is administer the cure and put the pieces back together."

She then activated her communications, "Acknowledged Beta, Gamma is fully loaded, sending you coordinates for the next location." She punched in the coordinates and sent them to the shuttle group. "What about you Ronnie?" Then she turned to him embarrassed, "Sorry, I should have asked first, do you mind, um, If I knick-name you? Sometimes I just do that."

"Sure, I can work with Ronnie" Ronson smiled, happy to go along with the easy banter. "But you're right, we have a knack for pulling the miracles out from unusual orifices" he snorted. "This may again be one of those times"

Long-Range Shuttle Kasson

Kit sat up a little straighter; she had been trying to go over the latest mission profile that the Sunfire was on, and had dozed off, Astraea having changed her sleep cycle to awake when mother tries to sleep mode. Bless her sister, Kasso, she tried her best to help but was still learning the ropes about babies.

“Ma’am, we are in the Masimal system. Would you like to contact the Sunfire or should I?” inquired the young Warrant Officer in charge of the long-range shuttle.

“I’ll do it.” Kit replied, and she moved to the front of the shuttle into the copilot seat.

“U.S.S. Sunfire this is the long-range shuttle Kasson entering system with medical supplies and personnel change out. Please advise for vector approach.” Kit stated in a calm manner, which she was not feeling.

Back on the bridge Ronson's ears pricked up. He knew that voice, it sounded very familiar.

"Kasson, you are cleared for approach to shuttle bay 1, we weren't expecting any support until tomorrow" he replied .
