Mission:
Character Development
Location: Holodeck 2
Timeline: After Pary at Quarks
Savar and Aurora had enjoyed the party and crew get together at Quarks. It was good for the crew to unwind after their latest mission, as it it had been most eventful with battling the Borg and traveling with and in a space whale's mouth. Now it was time for another meeting, one he hoped would be equally enjoyable for Aurora, meeting his family specifically his parents.
They arrived at the holodeck entrance but stopped before entering as Savar turned to Aurora. "We will be at my parent's home Aurora, just be yourself and they will love you just as I love you. Are you ready to proceed?"
Aurora took a deep breath and nodded. “I think so, I’m pretty nervous, but with you at my side I’ll be fine.” She smiled warmly.
"You will do fine Aurora. However, a little something to bolster your confidence." Savar answered as he leaned forward and kissed her softly. Pulling back he nodded. "Now you are ready."
“I most certainly am” Aurora smiled and nodded. “I will do my upmost to make a good impression.”
"Aurora, simply be the person you are and everything will be fine." Savar assured her as they prepared to enter the holodeck. "Now let us go and meet my parents."
“I’m right behind you” Aurora smiled as she wheeled baby Sidak through with them, Savar’s parents had yet to meet their grandson.
Savar nodded and the couple entered the holodeck and found themselves in the garden of Savar's parent's house. it was much like Savar's home on Vulcan that Aurora had been to. Moving slowly through the various plants and flowers, the found Salik and T'Nara, sitting on a bench and enjoying a cup of Vulcan tea. "Father, Mother, forgive the intrusion. I have Aurora with me to meet you." Salik stood, he was an older version of Savar. jet black hair, piercing eyes, strong chin and a face that showed absolutely no emotion. "You are our son. No forgiveness is required." He answered as his gaze shifted to Aurora. "Aurora, you honor this house by being here. I am Salik."
Aurora gave a respectful nod to Salik. “The honour is all mine Salik. This is our son Sidak.”
Salik looked at Sidak who lay quietly in Aurora's arms. "You honor all of Vulcan with his Vulcan name. Meet she who is my wife, T'Nara." Hearing her name T'Nara moved to join Salik. "Savar my son, it is most agreeable to see you. Your presence is most welcome as is that of your wife and son." Her eyes on Aurora, "It is a welcome sight to see you and Savar bonded. You complement each other."
“We do indeed” Aurora smiled proudly as she looked at Savar. “Savar has always been the one I was meant to bond with, he haas taught me much about my Vulcan side.”
"Aurora completes me. She is not only my wife but my soul mate. I am most fortunate to have her as my wife." Savar said with pride.
"It was only logical for you and Savar to bond." Salik observed. "Come join us for tea where we can talk further. However, it is good to see how you compliment each other."
Aurora smiled proudly at Savar. “We were always meant to be, and I will always be at Savar’s side.”
"Indeed. As I will remain beside Aurora. My life is with her." Savar said. It was obvious how much the pair loved and supported each other. Savar was going to add something, when another voice called out from the shadows of the garden. "Do my eyes deceive me? My brother has come to visit us. We are indeed honored." A moment later his sister, T'Kar appeared. "So, you come to visit and who is this?"" She asked looking at Aurora.
Aurora offered a warm smile. “I’m Aurora, Savar’s wife. You must be T’Kar? Savar has told me about all of you, and how much he has wished to see you all again.”
K'Tar nodded at Aurora's statement. "Indeed, I am K'Tar It is an honor to meet you. My brother spoke of us to you? I must confess surprise. It has been so long since he has visited. I thought he had forgotten us." Her face a mask until her eyes revealed humor within them. "I see my brother made a wise choice in you being his wife.
Aurora smiled warmly. “Savar has never forgotten you, if we could we would be visiting in person, that is something I plan for us to to do in the future.” She smiled at Savar.
Savar nodded in agreement at Aurora's words. "Aurora is correct. We plan on seeing you in person in the not too distant future. I hope that pleases everyone."
Salik spoke up. "I look forward to the day my son that you and Aurora can indeed honor us by coming in person to our, your home."
Aurora smiled and nodded as she held onto Savar’s hand. “We’d like that very much, it would give you chance to spend time with Sidak and we’re also expecting another child.”
T'Nara looked between Aurora and Savar. "Another child? You did not mention your wife was pregnant and you were expecting another child."
"Apologies mother. I wished it to be a surprise." Savar replied .
K'Tar decided to chime in. " Are we mind readers my brother? You don't come for visits and you don't tell your family anything important. Did you not think this was important?"
“I’m sorry!” Aurora offered Savar an apologetic gaze. “I didn’t realise you wanted it to be a surprise Imzadi.”
"K'Tar, you are rash in both your actions and speech. Apologize to Aurora now. She did nothing wrong to ask forgiveness. You on the other hand have much to be ashamed of." Savar said firmly. He turned to Aurora. "Aurora, do not apologize there is no reason for it. You did nothing wrong my love. I should have told you, I wished it to be a surprise."
Aurora nodded. “I do not wish for there to be any arguments over my mistake. Savar wanted to surprise you, please don’t punish him for that.”
Savar spoke, "I will not have my sister infer that you did something wrong when you did not Aurora." Savar replied stubbornly. "She may apologize."
Aurora couldn’t help but feel guilty, she was almost glad when Sidak decided to start crying. “I think he’s hungry, I should go and get him fed.” She turned to Savar’s family. “It has been nice meeting all of you, I look forward to meeting you face to face next time.” With that she gathered up Sidak and quickly headed out of the holodeck.
"You should be ashamed K'Tar and I will tell you so when I see you in person." He looked to his parents, "Mother, Father. we will see you in person soon. For now, my wife needs me." Savar answered and without another word turned and followed Aurora out of the holodeck. Once outside, he called to her. "Aurora, my love wait for me."
Aurora paused turning to look at her husband. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to cause an argument between you and your family.”
Savar put his hands gently on Aurora's shoulders. "Aurora, my beloved. You are the most important person in my life and you have nothing to apologize for. Do not trouble yourself over this. You have nothing to apologize or feel bad over." He finished by kissing her softly.
Aurora returned his kiss, but couldn’t help but feel she’d caused the argument. “I was the one who brought up the subject Savar, It was my fault.”
Savar shook his head. "No Aurora, it is not. I failed to mention it. I am to blame. The responsibility is mine to accept. Now, do not think on this anymore. You are not to blame."
Aurora nodded and offered a smile. “If you say so. Let’s go home.”
Savar offered Aurora a smile, "When we arrive back home, I will prepare us little snack of your favorite food in addition we will spend the rest of the evening watching whichever vid you wish."
Aurora smiled warmly. “That sounds wonderful to me Imzadi. I’m a lucky woman to have you.”
Savar shook his head from side to side. "No Aurora. I am the lucky one. For you saw beneath what some see as a cold, emotionless exterior and to what lies beneath and to the love and passion that i have for you."
“People see what they expect to see in you Imzadi, I only see the wonderful, loving man who holds not just my heart but my soul.” Aurora smiled warmly.
Savar moved to her, his hand gently caressed Aurora's cheek. "Aurora, you are my best friend, confidant, lover and wife. You captured my heart when we first met, and you continued to hold it and I could not ask or desire anything more wonderous than that." As he finished, he bent down and kissed his wife softly on her lips.
Aurora returned Savar’s kiss, they had a relationship that she was eternally grateful for and nothing would ever come between them.
"Is there anything particular you would like for a snack Aurora?" Savar asked, ready to fix whatever Aurora wanted.
“I fancy...” Aurora paused. “Something Vulcan, maybe a salad or something along those lines. I’ve been fancying more in the way of Vulcan cuisine lately.”
"I am pleased you are fancying more Vulcan cuisine Aurora. How would you feel about a seafood salad, with Vulcan shrimp and mollusks along with the more traditional salad ingredients." Savar inquired.
“I could give it a try” Aurora nodded in agreement. “Better late than never.”
"Aurora, if you not wish this just say so. I will be glad to prepare whatever it is you wish to have." Savar added willing to do anything to see Aurora happy.
“No, we’ll have what you suggested” Aurora smiled. “It sounds delicious.”
"As you wish Aurora." Savar replied as he came back over to her and leaning forward, softly kissed her. It was his way of showing his love to this remarkable woman who was also his wife.
