An Honorable Request

Captain Kaylen Rhenora left the ready room with the creature ever present behind her, leaving commander Savar in charge to effect of the course change and expedite contact with the Klingons if possible. She headed for her quarters for a much needed nap.

Savar watched from the center seat as Captain Kaylen exited the bridge with her ever present creature. captor following behind. Looking at the CONN officer he spoke, "Helm, change course to Kronos. Also begin hailing the Klingons."

Kit relieved the young ensign on duty at the science station after informing both the captain and xo of her discovery. She was troubled for sure by the information, but there were duties to be performed. She ran the usual astrometric scans and other science sweeps automatically as they changed course for Kronos, very deep in thought.

Savar maintained his outward calm as he sat in the center seat as the Sunfire sped towards Kronos. Yet he thought on the creatures "Energy Vampires" as he privately regarded them, draining the life force from other creatures to sustain themselves. He was also privately concerned for Captain Kaylen as she was constantly shadowed by one of the creatures and who had already drained some of her life force away.

Ronson emerged from the ready room feeling a little shaky after watching the creature feed off the Captain. He carried a thermos of Vulcan tea in one hand and a thermos of coffee in the other. When he was worried he defaulted back to ensuring everyone was fed and had adequate hot beverages. Approaching the XO first he offered the Vulcan tea.

Savar took the offered tea. "Thank you Mr. Mitch,..." He stopped and corrected himself. "Thank you Ronson, your thoughtfulness is most appreciated."

Aurora arrived on the bridge to an air of unease, offering Ronson a polite smile she took her seat next to Savar, giving him a curious look. "What have I missed?"

Savar met Aurora's look. "The captain offered herself to one of the creatures to feed on and it did. It siphoned off some of her life energy. We are currently enroute to Kronos hoping to talk to the Klingons about a synthetic lifeform they created." He answered and then in a lower voice he asked. "How are you Aurora?"

Aurora nodded as Savar explained the situation. "Me? I'm okay" she offered a smile. "I'll admit the experience I had on the surface with these entities has left me a little rattled, but I'm okay otherwise."

Savar looked at Aurora as she spoke. when she assured him she was alright he nodded. "I understand Aurora, I am sure your experience was quite unsettling. However, I am relieved you and the baby are both fine."

"We're perfectly, or at least as close as one can get to perfect" Aurora grinned. "I did promise Sarah I'd get some rest though, so if I'm not needed I'll return to our quarters and put my feet up for a while."

A small alarm sounded at the console where Kit was running standard scans for astrometric department. The alarm was sounding for longer than usual and Kit finally aroused out of her thoughts. She quickly silenced it and reviewed the data, she then subvocalized with the science team in astrometric to confirm the data.

"What was that?" Ronson asked as he approached Kit with the tea and coffee thermos, asking with a gesture if she wanted any.

Kit shook her head no in response to the offer of a beverage. "Commander, astrometric department has been detecting vertion particles and believe we may be witnessing a red giant getting ready to convert to a white dwarf. they are requesting we deviate for further study. They state it will only take us off course by two days and it would allow the long- and short-range sensors to better qualify the data."


Savar was about to reply to Aurora when an alarm sounded, and Kit spoke of a red star converting to a White Dwarf Star. Savar considered the request for a moment then replied. "Alter course and speed to bring us in proximity of the red giant. Inform the astrometric department they have two days. to collect the data, they need."

The news of a Dwarf Star birth instantly piqued Bonnie's curiosity and as she was just about to take a drink from Ronson, instead changing direction back to her console. The unfortunate exchange left her wearing the drink. It wasn't his fault, but hers as she withdrew her hand before finishing the exchange. Half wet, she profusely apologized to him even though she was the one amess.

Kit acknowledged Commander Savar “Aye, Sir.” and she immediately subvocalized to the astrometric department their orders from Commander Savar. She then pulled up the telemetry they were receiving. She smiled at Bonnie as she had her accident with the drink.
