Mission: Paranoia Nebula
Location: Conference Room
Timeline: Current

Dean gave a glance as Savar walked onto the Bridge. A little surprised to be honest. He may be Vulcan but can't heal near as fast as he could. However, regardless of their differences outside of the job, he was happy to see him up and around. "Captain. Good to see you back." Stepping up from the Executive Officer seat. Leaning to tap the comm button for those not on the Bridge.

"All Senior Officers to the Conference Room in five minutes." Of course those on the Bridge didn't need the call but the rest did, as they weren't there. Turning to walk around and head for it. Motioning a hand out once the doors opened. "Sir."

"Thank you Mr. House, it is good to be back and congratulations on your promotion." Savar replied honestly. As he looked about the bridge. He nodded as House motioned with his hand. "Yes, coming Commander." He acknowledged and turned on his heel to follow House to the Conference Room to get a strategic update on their current situation.

"Thank you Commander and I'm glad you are feeling better." Dean turned once Savar stepped into the room. The rest would certainly follow once they got there. "There's been quite a bit going on while you were under the weather. I'll leave it however to the Acting Captain to start the briefing once everyone is here, sir."

Savar nodded, "Your concern is most appreciated Mr. House." He paused for a moment before continuing. " Very well. I will leave it to Commander Baldric to bring me up to speed on our current situation. How are we from a tactical perspective?"

"Of course. As for that perspective. We are in a bit of an unknown situation. The ship is fine. However, we've gotten unknown readings from a nebula as well as a Ferengi Vessels distress call. They are not returning any attempts to contact them."

"I see. I am relieved to hear the ship is fine. I will leave it to Commander Baldric to further elaborate on the situation and onthe Ferengi vessel as well," Savar replied stoically as he sat at the head of the table and waited for the others to arrive.

Finchley motioned to Karadis to take over his position at Strategic Ops then made his way into the Conference room. Entering, he made his way up the room and seeing the two Senoir Officers said by way of acknowledgement to them both "Sirs."

Taking a seat at the table he turned to Savar and said "It's good to see you up and around Commander, I trust you're feeling better?"

Savar nodded, "I am. Thank you Mr. Kerr for your concern. In addition thank you, Mr. House and Commander Baldric for maintaining the ship on an even keel during my absence."

"You're welcome Sir, I was very concerned when you became ill after your return, I wasn't sure if it was anything to do with your meeting with the Grand Chancellor and his delegates. I passed over some information that we'd found in the audio recordings taken of the meeting to our CMO" Finchley replied.

"Thank you Mr. Kerr, I will make sure the CMO listens to the audio recordings as soon as possible. Your thoroughness is greatly appreciated in this matter." Savar replied.

Commander Baldric had been in the Ready Room finalising a few things when the page came through, picking up a pile of padd she took one last took at the space that was briefly her office and headed out to the conference room. She nodded to the assembled officers and found a spare seat, distributing the piles of padds with the latest information regarding the distress calls to those present.

Savar didn't look at the PaDD instead he asked Jennifer, "What are we dealing with Commander?"

" A situation with a lot of unknowns. Two ferengi ships sent out distress beacons emanating from this region of space. There's an unknown spacial anomaly in that region that appears to be somewhat transient. We haven't been able to glean too much more information than that. Command have assigned us to investigate when we are able" Balric rose and pulled up a starchart of the nearby region and indicated the spacial anomaly and the origin of the distress call.

"I see. Thank you Commander." Savar replied as he looked around at the assembled officers. "Do you or do any of you have any ideas or theories on what the anomaly could possibly be?"

Niali tumbled into the room dropping several PaDD’s on the floor. “Sorry I am late everyone, surgery called.”

Jennifer nodded as the CMO took her seat and resumed the presentation. "Astrometrics have been tracking the anomaly, it looks to be on a slow trajectory towards here - a dense stellar nursery. We don't know where it's been though as there aren't many ships in this region" Baldric continued.

"Has a probe been launched to determine anything more in regard to the anomaly's makeup and could it be interfering with the distress call from the Ferengi ships?" Savar inquired.

Dean pipped up this time, "Not as of yet because we're just coming into this situation. Also the call we did get, they weren't particularly forth coming with the information. Which is not really that surprising. The nebula however what we do have. It's a Class 42, the best simularity would be a Mutara, just without the usual effects. No, visual, shields. It's weird."

"Could you be more exact in how the nebula is weird Mr. House?" Savar asked his XO and waited for a reply.

Stands up and moves over to the viewer at the wall and keys in a few things and brings up a comparison. "A typical Mutara nebula, while all are mostly..the same, have varied gasses in them. Which screws with ships systems in one way or another."

Dean changed the image, "These and they are only long range scans, so we can't be certain. However, are completely off. It's...moving. I'd call that a little weird, sir." The image comparison actually did show that the new nebula was moving. Almost like if you were looking at Voyagers Warp Core, how the flow moved around.

Savar peered at the image of the nebula and uttered one word. "Fascinating."

Thriss, who had been silent since he entered the room, piped up. "Any idea of the effect it would have on our systems? Let alone the transwarp drive if we end up needing to use it?"

“This may already have been discussed but are we planning to help, or at least offer to help the Ferengi vessels? Asked Niali.

"Now that we know that Commander Savar is up and about again the plan is to aid the Ferengi in whatever manner we can. Risa, set a course for the distress beacons, maximum safe speed" Baldric knew she was toeing the line but kept going. " As soon as we're closer every sensor array needs to be at maximum efficiency so we know what we're dealing with."

Niali looked at Commander Savar, “I will ensure sickbay is ready for any Ferengi casualties.”

Sandy piped up at this point having heard everything, "I suggest in sending out a half dozen fighters to check out ahead of us. They could be an advance warning if something was not on the up an up," she said. "Roger that on setting course for distress beacons, maximum safe speed," she added.

"If there's no further questions?" Jennifer looked around the room to see if indeed there were further queries as to their next mission. Seeing that there was none the meeting was dismissed.
