Character Development
Location: Aurora's and Savar's Quarters
Timeline: After Aurora's release from Sickbay
Following Aurora's release from Sickbay, Savar had prepared a nice light meal for her as he did not know how she would tolerate a regular meal and he had no desire to see Aurora back in Sickbay. he prepared some mint tea for her and Vulcan tea for himself. He also prepared a meal of some greens and veggies sprinkled with some chicken.
He walked into the living room where Aurora was resting on the couch and handed her, her glass of tea. "Mint tea Aurora." Then added, "I have prepared a light dinner for you if you feel up to it." His concern for her evident.
Aurora nodded. “That would be lovely, thank you Imzadi.” She offered a smile.
"You are welcome Aurora." Savar paused a beat and then continued. "It is good to have you home with us. I missed you and was deeply troubled by your illness." His voice full of emotion and feeling for her.
“I know” Aurora offered a caring smile. “I could feel your concern, and I knew I had to hold on. I was stupid, I should have initiated quarantine fields when the emergency alert sounded. Instead I just sat there thinking I’d be safe in the lab.”
Savar shook his head, My love and concern for you is constant. You are my wife and soulmate. Our lives are intertwined both physically as well as our thoughts through the bond we share. "No, you were not stupid Aurora and self recriminations do no good. Learn from it and the experience."
Aurora nodded. “I know you’re right, and I’m glad to have your unwavering love and support Imzadi. Your love and strength is what kept me going, that and our children.”
"You are most kind my love. Your love and support of me is always a beacon of comfort for me. For even in the darkest times it shines through with a brightness that dashes all darkness."
Aurora smiled. “You know we could give each other compliments all day. I promised the day I married you that I would always be by your side, and that is where I will be.”
"I see nothing wrong in complimenting my wife the one I love with every breath i take. However if you would rather me to cease giving you compliments than I shall." Savar replied clearly jesting with Aurora.
Aurora grinned. “Have I ever told you I love your sense of humour?” She moved to get up. “I should eat that dinner you’ve made for me, I don’t want it to go to waste.”
"He nodded as he followed her back to the kitchen. "Yes, I believe you have. However please feel free to indulge in saying it again. If you feel up to it, there is also dessert."
Aurora grinned as she paused to turn around and stop Savar in his tracks with a kiss. “I do love you!” Then she turned and carried on to get her food.
"And I you. Very much." Savar replied as Aurora kissed him. He followed her into the kitchen. It was good to have her back. For their quarters were now a home once again with Aurora back where she belonged.
“Something smells delicious” Aurora gave Savar a curious look, it smelled familiar yet with a difference somehow.
Savar nodded at her look, " I added some of your favorite herbs to the meal. I do hope that I have gotten the flavor correct and you do find the taste to your liking."
“Let’s see shall we?” Aurora grinned as she picked up a fork and sampled some of the food. “Mmm…” she nodded. “Now that…is wonderful.”
"I am pleased you find the flavor to your liking." Savar answered as he picked up a fork and took a bite. After a moment he looked at Aurora and nodded, "I concur. Most satisfactory." As he enjoyed the meal and Aurora's company.
“I noticed your look on the bridge earlier” Aurora smiled. “I love the way you look out for me, I know on duty we’re supposed to be professionals rather than a married couple, but I love being able to feel and see your love and concern for me.”
Savar was quiet for a moment then he replied. "You are my wife. My soulmate we share a bond and so much more. I will always love and be concerned for you. Of that you can be assured. It is constant, never diminishing or wavering."
“I know” Aurora nodded. “It’s your strength and love that kept me going through the fight against that infection. That, and N’Vea. I wasn’t willing to leave either of you.” She looked towards their daughter’s nursery, where she was currently sleeping.
"You honor me, my wife." Savar bowed his head in respect and gratitude at Aurora's words. "Yet you do not recognize your own strength as it was that, that also helped you survive your recent ordeal. You are far stronger than you give yourself credit for." He followed her gaze to N'Vea's nursery. " N'Vea needs her mother and I need my wife."
“I’m not going anywhere Imzadi, I’ll be right here at your side for the rest of my days.” Aurora paused to enjoy more of her food, Savar was an excellent cook.
"It pleases me a great deal to hear you say that. I too am not going anywhere and you will be stuck with me for many years to come." He bantered back. A side many did not know he had as it was reserved for Aurora.
Aurora grinned they could compliment each other forever more, right now she was just happy to be back home with her family.
"Let us enjoy each other's company, this meal and the rest of the day." Savar stated as he took another bite of his meal.
Aurora nodded. “Agreed Imzadi, I’d like that very much.”
