The nebula

Mission: Sunfire Station Keeping Starbase 247
Location: USS Eagle - Bridge

The Eagle had been at warp speed for a few hours, for now, heading for the dark matter nebula. The nebula had been growing in size and was becoming dangerous.

"Arriving at location dropping out of warp." The helm called out.

Jodon was talking to a crewman about personal reports when the status was called. Turning back around to face the main viewscreen he commanded. "Begin scans helm ahead 1 quarter impulse power."

"Aye, sir." Called out the bridge crew.

A few minutes later the Human Female manning the Science station said."Sir, I'm reading alloys in the heart of it...A ship?"

"What do you mean?" Jodon pondered.

"Helm control offline! We're being pulled into the nebula." Called the helm.

"Red Alert. Can you try flying manual?" Jodon asked.

The helm tapped away at the console. "No sir." Replied the helm officer.

Then the Ops officer called out. "Sir radiation increasing."

"Inform Sickbay. Engineering report." Jodon commanded. This was starting to worry him he had only commanded a Starbase, not a Starship.

"It's that dang Nebula it's taking power from us and damaging our systems." Some in Main Engineering said.

"What if it's attached to the hull? Science Polarize the hull. Helm standby for full reverse." Jodon commanded.

The person manning the Science said." Doing that now...It's work, sir!"

"Good." Said Jodon. "Helm full reverse set course for the Starbase maximum speed."

The helm said. "Helm control returning... Carrying out orders."

"Good work people," Jodon announced taking a sigh of relief on the bridge. "Take us to the edge of scanning rage we'll sit and scan and then file back to Captain Reese."
