Patch up time

Mission:
Lost in Space
Location: Sickbay
Dr Sarah Wilson was once again trying to bring some kind of order to the chaos the Sunfire had found themselves in once again. The ship had taken a beating and therefore the healing wards of sickbay were overflowing with injuries of all kinds. Anyone with medical training had been recalled and we're doing what they could to triage and treat.
Aurora arrived in Sickbay to offer what help she could, her senses were foggy thanks to the bump she’d taken to her head earlier but she was going to do what she could anyway. “Where do you need me Sarah?”
"Anywhere you can fit with a tricorder and a medkit" Sarah quipped as she moved quickly from patient to patient, wiping the blood from her hands on her medical coat before running her hands through the sterilising unit. Whilst there hadn't been any fatalities yet, there had been some close calls that had tested Sarah's skills in rudimentary frontier medicine.
“Okay that I can do” Aurora smiled, then picked up a tricorder and a medkit. “I’ll clear what I can for you.” With that she headed over to those who appeared to have minor injuries, which would ease up the load on Sarah.
"You're a gem Aurora" Sarah said emphatically as she continued to work.
An hour later a crewman with a bleeding head Injury was carried into sickbay.
"We just found him in his quarters" the engineer announced as he looked for a vacant biobed.
“Right over here!” Aurora motioned them to the biobed she was stood closest to. “You can use this bed.”
Sarah watched on with a practiced eye, easily dividing her attention between her own patient whilst keeping tabs on the rest of the room. They were slowly winning the ride.
"Cranial swelling or superficial laceration? Or of course both?" She called towards Aurora.
Aurora ran a scan reading off the results. “Possible cranial fracture, some swelling is already present.” She looked towards Sarah. “What do you need me to do?”
"10cc of crenaline and 15cc of inoprovaline. That will deal with the swelling and pain. Use a bone knitter to deal with the fracture then a dermal regenerator for the laceration" Sarah called rapidfire instructions. "You ok?" She added as she finished with her own patient and moved on to the next.
Aurora quickly picked up the crenaline hypo. “10cc crenaline going in now...” she gave it a moment then picked up the inoprovaline. “Now adding 15cc of inaprovaline.” She paused before starting on the bone fracture. “I definitely couldn’t do this every day!” She gave Sarah a brief smile.
"You kinda get used to it" Sarah replied with a smile. "You're doing an amazing job" she we're currently elbow deep in an abdominal cavity trying to suture a vein that was bleeding heavily. "How's the cranial pressure going?"
Aurora looked up at the readings. “Pressure is...dropping!” She gave a big smile. “I’ve almost finished with the bone knitter, it’s coming together nicely.”
"See, I'll make a doctor out of you yet?" Sarah quipped, finally finding the bleeder and sealing it off before carefully closing the large open wound. "You sure you don't want to switch fields?"
“No, thank you!” Aurora smiled as she finished off with the bone knitter and started on the dermal regenerator. “I don’t mind helping out, but I’m much happier being a Counsellor.”
"Damn, I was hoping to coerce you over to the dark side" Sarah smirked as she finally stepped back from the patient she was just working on. For a few moments there was calm, and the CMO dared to breathe. "You good Aurora?"
“Yeah I think so” Aurora smiled and nodded. “Patient readouts are stable for now.”
"Fantastic" the lull in activity continued. Cautiously Sarah looked around to see that most patients were now stable and resting comfortably. They had won the tide.
"Thank you for your help, take a break before you need to start dealing with the psychological fallout of being lost in space"
Aurora nodded. “I will, thanks Sarah.” Aurora handed over to a nearby nurse who was now free and headed for her office to put her feet up. Sarah was right she’d soon be inundated with worried crew.
