Mission: Halloween
Location: Aurora and Savar's quarters
Timeline: After Current Mission

Savar and Aurora were in their cabin, relaxing and enjoying being in each other's company once again. Currently they were sitting on the couch. Savar's arm around Aurora, holding her close. Her presence was a soothing, healing factor over what he felt was a disrespectful course of action and under minded his leadership. Though he spoke not a word of it. Aurora could feel his frustration.

Aurora was de-stressing after recent events, the emotional turmoil the energy beings had put her through was now melting away as she cuddled up with Savar. “Are you alright Imzadi? I can feel your frustration.”

Savar didn't answer right away. he wanted, no he needed to remain calm. Finally, after a few seconds he answered Aurora. "I am concerned over your well-being Aurora. Not just from the mission we finished but being separated from you as well. However you are correct. I am frustrated."

Aurora nodded. “You didn’t like that we were separated, I felt that Imzadi. You don’t have to worry about me, We’re both Starfleet Officers we knew what we were signing on for. As a married couple we aren’t given any favours when it comes to who works with who.”

Savar sighed, "It is not that Aurora. I understand we are not granted favors because we are married. It is how we were separated. I was asked to pick my away team and did and then my decision was overruled because a subordinate want to change things up. It under minded my authority and leadership." He paused for a moment, then continued. "You did not even protest."

“I’m sorry Imzadi, but it wasn’t my place to protest the decision of senior officers, especially where my husband is concerned.” Aurora paused. “It would be seen as favouritism.”

"It would have been as being seen as being loyal to a senior officer who happens to be your husband." Savar countered. His voice even and under control. "Instead, it looks as you agreed with the decision." He added. "I do worry about you. Though not from your ability to do the job. I know you are extremely capable. Rather as a husband who worries about his wife. I also know you love me as much as I love you and that will never change." He gave her a look. Am I being illogical?"

“No, you’re not being illogical Imzadi” Aurora sat up giving Savar a worried look. “But you do sound as though you’re annoyed with me for not disputing the away team decision.”

"Annoyed? No Aurora, I could never be annoyed with you. As I stated I love you. I only wish you had said something from the aspect of under minding one's decisions. I am sorry I mentioned it." Savar answered then added. Most people think of Vulcans as cold, unfeeling machines. We learned to control, bury our emotions when they threatened to destroy us. To rely on logic and the purity of thought. You know the truth through the bond we share. I wish for us to meld. So, you can see my feelings firsthand."

Aurora nodded. “Of course Imzadi, you know how I feel about you. I understand how you must be feeling, but let our minds intertwine and find some comfort within.”

"Indeed, I do Aurora." Savar intoned respectfully as he placed his fingers on her cheek and temple. “My mind to your mind, my thoughts to your thoughts.” He said as the connection between their minds was made. Aurora would see that she and Savar were in a grassy meadow. Lying down on the soft ground. Content with each other's company. She would also feel Savar's unwavering love and support for her. How so very happy she made him. How proud he was that she had chosen to be his wife. That he was never annoyed or disappointed in her despite this recent misunderstanding. Aurora completed him, was his wife, best friend and lover, they could always talk and be honest with each other. and nothing would ever change that. As they lay together. His hand reached out to clasp hers. To silently demonstrate that their love was as strong as ever. He also wanted her to know that he was sorry for making her feel he was annoyed with her. What he was and would always be was proud.

Aurora felt and saw Savar’s unwavering love for her, as she let him see and feel what he meant to her. Her feelings hadn’t changed since their last mind meld, her love was as strong now as it was before. She would forever be at his side. Her feelings of guilt at not having spoken up at the briefing were there for Savar to plainly see and feel.

Savar let Aurora's love wash over him. He saw and felt her love for him. He saw her feelings of guilt and reached a hand out to turn her head. *My love do not feel guilty. Your love over shadows all else. We are forever united. I ask your forgiveness in this matter.* Then he kissed her, softly, tenderly with all the love he felt for her.

Aurora returned the kiss lovingly. *There is no need to ask for forgiveness Imzadi, but if you wish it you have it.*

He closed his eyes at Aurora's reply. To have the love of a woman especially one such as Aurora was priceless and a gift, he would be eternally grateful for.

*I wished you were down there with me Imzadi* Aurora sighed. *The experience was...horrible! The images those entities made me see, and the emotions, but Sarah took care of me.*

* I wish I was there with you my precious love. I am sorry you had to endure what you did. I am grateful to Sarah in helping you.*

* Let’s put this all behind us Savar, but we do need to be prepared to be seperated on future away team duty.* Aurora offered a warm mental hug. * If it’s a problem then we need to speak with Rhenora.*

*I agree Aurora. Let us put this behind us. I do not mind an occasional separation Aurora as long as Rhenora is the one doing it. But not every away team duty.* Savar replied mentally which was followed up with a kiss and a hug. There was more he could say but he did not want to rehash the issue or somehow provoke a real argument.

*You're holding back Savar, is there more you need to say?* Aurora’s astral figure in their shared mindscape gave Savar a knowing look.

*No Aurora. there is nothing more I wish to say. I feel I have said enough, and I do not wish to belabor the issue. Thank you for listening to me and giving me your honest opinion. *

Withdrawing from their mind meld Aurora gave her husband a smile. “You’re sure Imzadi? You know how I feel, would you like me to pass on your concerns to Rhenora? Admittingly she’s on reduced duties until her baby is born, which means you will be spending more time running the ship.”

"I do know how you feel, and I am very fortunate to have your love and support Aurora. You will always have mine. As to passing my concerns on to Rhenora. I am not sure she needs the added stress. I will hold a decision on this in abeyance."

Aurora nodded. “Fair enough, I know it’ll mean longer hours for you. I’ll do my best to try and accommodate that here at home. I’ll have a nice meal waiting for you when you get home from longer shifts.”

"As you said, it will mean longer hours and I will rely on your insights in regard to crew morale as well as their general mental state. So, you need to rest whenever you can and not task yourself."

Aurora nodded. “Understood Sir” she grinned. “Honestly though I’ll be careful, that I promise you.”

"See that you are Aurora. As your superior but more as your husband, I do not wish you to be injured because you have pushed yourself too hard." Savar replied, a slight smile on his face.

“As Chief Counsellor all I need to do is sit in my office and talk to people, less stress than being on the bridge during a crisis” Aurora grinned. “Not that I want to miss out on bridge duty. Actually I was thinking of taking my bridge officer’s test, It would mean you’d have an extra pair of hands to take command if no one else was able.”

" You have to deal with other people's stress as well as your own. That is no easy task." Savar replied and continued. "I think that is an excellent idea, Aurora. I am all for it. You have my support. An extra pair of hand and eyes in a crisis can be crucial." Savar replied.

Aurora nodded. “The Bridge Officers test is stressful in itself, I’m not sure whether or not to wait until after we have our baby. There’s no mad rush. It would give me time to study.”

"Whatever your decision is Aurora. I will support you fully. I will say, it might be best to take the test after the baby arrives. So, you can study and be on the bridge for a few shifts so you can observe first-hand what goes on." Savar replied.

“Agreed” Aurora nodded. “Less stress that way too.” She smiled warmly.

"You see. You already have the makings of a bridge officer. You agreed with your superior." Savar replied. His voice showing no sign he was teasing but Aurora would see the twinkle in his eyes.

Aurora grinned. “I love the way your eyes twinkle when you’re joking with me!” She practically grinned from ear to ear.

Aurora had such a beautiful smile. Savar reflected as he spoke to her. "You know me so well Aurora. You are the only person I do joke with to the extent I do."

“That’s because no one knows, or sees the real you Imzadi” Aurora gently touched Savar’s cheek. “I see the real you, and I don’t care if you do have to be the A-Typical Vulcan when in public, I know what’s deep inside. Besides I wouldn’t change you for the universe.”

Savar closed his eyes at Aurora's gentle, loving touch. "I am for you Aurora, always and completely. I do not wish to reveal myself to others. Rhenora knows more than any, but you know my soul and I would not have any other way.'

Aurora nodded. “Then that is the way it shall stay my love” She smiled warmly. “Let’s enjoy what time we have together, it may prove more fleeting soon as you take over from Rhenora.”

Savar smiled at the woman he loved more than all else. "As long as we have each other nothing else matters Aurora. I have all I need with you by my side."

“Good” Aurora smiled warmly. “Because I’m never going to leave you. I am forever at your side.”

Savar leaned over and kissed Aurora. It was full and deep held the love he had for this remarkable woman. "Nor I you, my love. I am afraid you are stuck with me."

Aurora returned Savar’s kiss. “Good because you’re stuck with me too.”
