Mission: The Beginning of the End
Location: In transit to DS9

After her meeting with Admiral Clarkson, Commander Jennifer Baldric strode purposefully to her temporary quarters. Finally it seemed that fortune was favouring the bold. She was getting her command, albeit at this stage only temporary. If she had her way the temporary would become permanent and she would retain command of the Sunfire.

It took her all of five minutes to pack her duffle and check out of her room, heading back to Command to organise a transport. There were plenty of ships coming and going from Earth, and she would take whatever one was heading towards Bajor or DS9 first.

To her luck, the USS Cobargo was heading towards the Gamma quadrant for a routine survey mission, the deep space science vessel would have plenty of room for an extra passenger.

Beaming aboard with her transfer documents, the young Ensign raised her eyebrows as she checked the commander into the ships passenger list. “The Sunfire eh, I thought Kaylen would be buried with that ship” he quipped quietly so only Jen could hear. “You're gonna need balls of steel”

“So I hear” Baldric replied dryly as she was shown to her first quarters. They were standard as far as the smaller deep space vessels went. Bedroom, small living area and ensuite. Baldric threw her bag on the bed, it wouldn't get unpacked until she got on board the Sunfire. She needed to use every second of her time to get to know her enemy, to understand how she thought, how she made decisions, and most importantly, how to undermine her authority. To cast doubt in the eyes of the Sunfire crew, that would be Baldric's ticket to the chair.

Heading to the replicator Jen ordered a strong black expresso, and a ham and cheese croissant. It would keep her going for a number of hours and allow her to get her head into the game. Settling into the comfortable chair at the workstation, she got to work. “Computer, show me everything on file for Kaylen Rhenora. Starfleet dossier, Bajoran archives, the works.”
