The Mrs and Breaking Bad
Posted on Tue Sep 5th, 2023 @ 5:17am by Captain Rhenora Kaylen & Commander Jenna Ramthorne & Remal Kajun
Mission:
Repairs and Retribution
Location: Kunar Compound
Timeline: Current-ish
Day three was approaching early afternoon. She had already had her session with the Vulcan and now it was time to deal with the Bajorans. Remal was recovering slowly from his ordeal in the box, and was a sight she knew Rhenora would hate. They almost made this too easy. Rhenora would break because her husband would break. And if he didn't, there were other ways of making the former Captain suffer.
The Mrs. was counting on a rescue attempt to come any day, any moment. She was counting on forcing Rhenora to watch as her crew began to suffer for their Captains actions. The compound was well fortified, protected by a anti-beam shield which stretched for several kilometers. Between the harsh environment, the wildlife, and the guard towers, she was over confident in her security. Her justice was sweet.
The Mrs. signaled for the Bajorans to be brought forth for another round of punishment.
Rhenora was asleep when the forcefield was lowered and the gate thrown open. She'd given up on staying awake when her body surrounded to the crude bunk the instant she had rested upon it.
"Come" was the simple word by way of instruction that the guard uttered almost apologetically as he approached his charge. He had watched her all day, determination and stubbornness the epitome of the Bajoran people, but this one more than most.
They walked in silence, her feet making almost no sound compared to his heavy boots. He knocked twice on the ornate doors and waited for admittance.
His night was spent in a state of delirium. The water Aurora had managed to provide was just enough to keep him sane. As they dragged his body, all six of them, the dirt irritated his wounds and exacerbated his pain. They pulled him into the shower and drenched his aching skin with cold water and then delousing agent. By the time he was forced to the floor he was on fire physically.
Rhenora stepped forward as the doors opened, revealing the same expansive room she had experienced the night before. Remal was already there, looking decidedly worse for wear. She cast him a concerned glance and hoped he could feel her her compassion and her underlying dear for his welfare. If any concern was expressed in more than her eyes though, it would be exploited.
The Mrs entered after, dressed all in black right down to her gloves. "Ah, my two favorite Bajoran pests. Pardon my tardiness, I was have a nice meal and a bottle of homebrew Kunar. It was good enough that I didn't want to get up from the table. You know how it is when you've cooked a large meal and you just want to savour every, last, morsel, right?" She spoke as she walked, stopping at the end of her sentence to face the standing Rhenora.
"Oh, I don't mean now of course. Or anytime in the near future for that matter." She teased. "Or ever again really. Although, I did receive word your precious Sunfire was spotted just outside of Cardassian space recently. Right about the same time they picked up your dear husband and dispatched his traveling companion." She smiled. "So, perhaps you still have a small chance, you know, assuming they can get past the checkpoints, and the orbital platforms and of course survive the surface beyond the transport barrier." She held up two finger almost touching one another. "Small chance."
"Ah, but where are my manners, welcome back to my home. You were dearly missed." She stepped back and looked at the state of Remal. "Tsk, tsk, tsk, It looks like our mouthy man has had a rough night. The local wildlife does have a nasty little sting. Scorpinauts don't normally travel in groups so when they do gather together they can be quite, territorial." She pressed her boot against Remal's face and pressed.
He whimpered from the pain, as his nerve endings flared up from the simple contact. "I've always wondered if the sting is worse, or if the hallucinations the venom causes are the real pain. Either way, nasty little creatures." She turned and eyed Rhenora for her reaction.
Rhenora tried her best to not betray the emotion she was bottling up inside. Her mind screamed obscenities but her expression, though taunt, conveyed little by way of a particular emotion. She bit the back of her lip, a technique she'd used during the occupation to distract her attention elsewhere.
"You will rot in the fire caves" Rhenora hissed under her breath when she could take no more. There would be retribution for her words she knew, but there had to be a reason they'd been kept alive this far. She was gambling on that to buy the Sunfire time to get them out of this hell. The woman had let slip that the ship was nearby, they would have a plan.
"OH, ha ha ha ha ha. Funny you should mention the caves. I've been there and seen them for myself. Was an anniversary gift from my husband, if I recall correctly." She got up close to Rhenora's face. "I was not impressed. Kunar has a series of firefalls in the Southern Province of Masser'at. At night the flames flow like backward water up the side of the mountains."
Her face showed reminiscence before becoming stern, granite like cold, and she released a backhand across Rhenora's face. "Shame you'll never get the chance to witness such a place."
Remal, through his blurred vision could see the hurt his wife was going through, and he was growing angry. The Mrs somehow sensed his turmoil as she turned and pointed at the guards, "It's time for their medicine." She said with a smile. They would be given shots of what the docs called a truth serum, though truthfully it would put them in a lot of pain first.
The Bajoran attempted to keep her expression neutral, although the fatigue and hunger were making it difficult. Her body craved rest and her mind was sluggish. Not ideal when attempting to formulate an escape plan. She looked at Remal and noted he was in worse condition that herself. They would have to regain some strength first.
"And what 'medicine' would that be? I doubt you have our health and best interest at heart" Rhenora scoffed, adding a distinct hint of 'tone' to her words.
"Oh, your health is for most on my mind, or rather, the lack thereof. You see, my guards believe your energy and fighting spirit would serve us well at meeting the Governor's quota. I believe otherwise. Until your spirit is broken, you will only serve to disrupt our operations."
A guard behind Rhenora injected a crude hypo into her neck and then stepped back into the shadows. "Now, I'm not much of a chef myself, but I have been know to be a bit creative in the kitchen. This little brew was initially created as a humane way of, extracting information. Too humane for my tastes. So I tweaked the recipe a bit by adding a little spice to the mix. To share when you begin to feel as though your nerve endings become enflamed."
Almost instantly the cocktail of goodness knows what set about interacting with her nervous system. It started with tingles, tingles in places she didn't even know existed. The tingles progressed to a burning sensation, from the tip of her hair to the toes on her feet it felt as though her body was on fire. And the sadist considered this humane? Unable to bear her own weight she sank to her knees, trying to focus on her breathing to avoid making any sound.
"Good, good. As that begins to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside you'll find it difficult to concentrate on being able to lie." She pressed her crop under Rhenora's chin, "And all you have to do to make the pain stop, is to tell me you enjoyed killing Gul Maccet. Tell me you had planned to kill him and you enjoyed every minute of it and the pain, will end."
" I.. didn't...kill...him" Rhenora breathed through gritted teeth as her body continued to feel as though it were burning from the inside out.
"They were not your hands, my dear, but they were your desires and the actions were your responsibility to bear. You taunted him. You threatened him and you struck him down. And you enjoyed it, didn't you? Taking your revenge out on him for years of pain inflicted upon your people felt good didn't it?"
"I didn't plan it" Rhenora spat in between her nerve endings being on fire and the ragged breathing she was attempting to control the pain with. "He kidnapped my crew...blackmailed us" the words were barely audible between clenched teeth. Even her eyelashes felt as though they were on fire. She prayed for the end to come quickly.
"And yet here we are. He is dead. You went on the lamb and now you will own up to the punishment you so rightfully deserve." Another half an hour passed with the Mrs hammering questions at Rhenora and Remal off and on. By the time the half an hour was up the pair of head strong Bajorans have given nothing up. Spent of their energy, the poison serum having run its course.
"Shame, I suppose this means we will have to have another session tomorrow." The Mrs gloated as she squeezed Rhenora's limp face muscles. "Guards. Have these two cleaned up, fed and placed in a cell neighboring one another. I am certain their proximity towards one another will be their undoing."
