Family Reunion

Timeline: Three weeks after leaving the Dinosaur Planet

Ensign Kitiuas Thenis was sitting in one of Starbase 67 bars enjoying the music and a fine glass of Orion Whisky when two Orion males walked up and sat next to her; one on each side. The one on her right asked her in Orion and soft whisper “Are you Kitiuas Thenis, Ensign on the USS Sunfire NCC-3935-B?” Kit instantly thought of her dancerblade strapped to her left wrist and whether she could flick it into her hand before these two acted. “Relax,” said the Orion male to her left in Orion “I am Jaittu, First Officer of the Thimmerand this is Ngekkom, our chief of security. Your cousin Tayshi D’hetr asked us to find you and bring you to her ship. She believes your life may be in danger from Cardassians; if not you directly, your superiors.” Kit paused her train of thought. Why would I be in danger from the Cardassians? she thought, then the second part of Jaittu’s statement hit home “I need to inform the Captain immediately.” she replied in Orion as she went to hit her combadge when Ngekkom spoke up in Orion “Four Cardassians have just entered the bar, dressed as merchents but carrying what appear Cardassian phase-disrupter pistols.” Kitiuas took a quick glance; Damn he is good that was when she noticed that Ngekkom had an artificial right eye and I bet that is why. In Orion Jaittu stated “Quick we need to move. We are going to draw attention to ourselves if we stay here for to long; besides your cousin is anxious to meet with you.” Kit sighed seeing no way out of the situation, short of a fight. “I need to warn my superiors.” she protested in Orion. “It is too late for that” replied Jaittu in Orion. “Whatdo you mean?” asked Kit, in Orion. In Orion Jaittu replied “It means that the Thimmer arrived to late. The Cardassians beat us here.” Kit was confused as the three made their way out of the bar. Ngekkom held her close as if she were drunk “Told you boss she was a light wait when it comes to drinking.” he said loudly in Federation standard as they passed by the Cardassian ‘merchants’. Kit played along with the act stumbling a little, she knew the ruse and was glad she was in her civvies. Once they had cleared the bar the three walked quickly to an unadorned door, Jaittu typed a code into the keypad and it slide open. They quickly entered and the door slide shut with a loud click. A small lamp was on “Welcome cousin.” replied Tayshi D’hetr, sitting in a well cushioned chair, four burly Orion males standing by it.
