Mission:
For Bajor!
Location: DS9
Startled, Bonnie dropped the spanner in her hand right on her toes as her arms shot into the air. All Baldric would hear is, "Don't shoot... damnit, owe, damnit... unarmed." As she struggled to not get shot through the pain in her foot.
Kit had slowly lowered herself into a crouching position, prepared to strike out like a Daros IV morakos. Then she saw Bonnie drop a spanner on her foot as her hands shot up into the air, followed by Bonnies ouch. Kit took advantage and struck out in a leap and was next to Commander Baldric like a Daros IV morakos; the aptly named ‘shadow-killer’, her right hand about to strike out with the needle and sleep poison stopping a mere inch from Commander Baldric’s neck. She stopped upon realizing who she was about to strike and put to sleep.
Kit lowered her hand and flicked off the dancerknife off, the low vibrating hum silenced. Her right hand she pulled back. "You know commander it isn't nice to scare the crap out of people, especially when holding a weapon."
"Bonnie? Kit?" Baldric stepped forward and let her eyes adjust more to the gloomy interior. "Dean and I had an alert about a control panel being overridden or destroyed. We thought it may have been the saboteurs" she explained, lowering her weapon.
"Dean, can you confirm this was the location of the security override, or was there another one? I've just bumped into Bon and Kit"
Heart now firmly back in her chest, Bonnie picked up her spanner and turned the last powerboard key. She then replaced the ISO core module and the panel. "There, the trap should be disabled. We can try to access the code stream again without issue, I think." There was always a level of trepidation to her voice.
"So tell me, ladies, did you bust the security panel?" Baldric asked again, slinging the phaser rifle around onto her back and crossing her arms. She looked at Kit, the needle, and raised an eyebrow.
Bonnie wasn't about to sell out Kit, "You told us to come down, to find out what was going on. We found a, um, a layered code in the system and a charged trap lying in waiting. It was, to coin a phrase, electrifying." Bonnie smiled as she kept her backside out of the Commander's view. She didn't lie, but she also didn't give more than she had to.
Kit merely smiled as she ran her finger over the ring on her hand closing the needle back into its base. She then flicked her wrist and the dancer knife returned to the hidden sheath on her wrist. "You have much to learn about Orion women commander. I can assure you that the items you saw are legal for me to have, a cultural heritage thing." She then smiled sweetly, "Only I am not allowed to use the poisons often preferred by Orion's, mine is just an extremely potent sleep drug."
DS9 Security Office
Dean was a little late on the up keep from the video feed, so he'd not seen what was currently going on. Until now, switching it over, and over comms, "Yes, it was in that location. Why does Kit have a needle in your general direction? Hi Bonnie-kin. You dropped that spanner on your foot didn't you."
Bonnie sort of waved low, in the direction she thought might be the camera feed, before realizing she was being silly and focus on the work at hand.
"So we can confirm that the security alert was from you two, unless there is another panel that was busted nearby. Let me go check that." Baldric turned and headed back out the door, scanning to see if any other panels had been damaged. She found one two doors up. "Deano, run a scan on the door at my location, it appears to have been tampered with."
Knowing there was a security camera focusing on them Kit gave a smile and wave.
Jen examined the locking mechanism next door, finding it had also been tampered with and was currently unlocked. "Curiosity and the cat" she whispered as she raised her weapon and prepared to enter the room.
It took a minute but Dean got back to them, "Don't go in there, Jen. I just got who did this...it's......it's Rosa Coy...What in the hell. I'm coming down there."
"Too late," Baldric whispered as the doors slid closed behind her, sealing the room into darkness. She flicked on the narrow beam of her rifle's target light and began to scan the room.
Ensign Kitiuas dropped low on instinct; years of being hunted and wanted by a radical branch of the Orion Syndicate had honed her sense. She again flicked her wrist and the dancer knife slid into her hand. She kept her index finger near the power activator, not wanting to expose herself with its faint, eerie blue glow. Next, she pulled out a small throwing dagger, pushing a small button on the hilt which would release the same potent sleep drug as her ring. She slowly crab-walked to her right, near the wall, prepared to defend herself.
Eyebrows scrunched up in thought, Bonnie turned to the computer, "That can't be right. Commander Coy was supposed to be instructing cadets on flight training today. How could she be there and here at the same time?" When Dean didn't answer she tapped her badge. "Computer, location of Commander Rosa Coy?"
"Commander Coy is not currently aboard the Station or the starship USS Sunfire." But then there was this sort of glitching noise in her voice. "Commander Coy is aboard Space Station Terok Nor." A cryptic response which had Bonnie scratching at her head.
"Who is this Commander Coy?" Baldric asked still sweeping the room with the light from her rifle, her stance ready to take on anything. She couldn't remember the name from the last batch of personnel transfers.
Having been one who liked to peruse personnel files in her spare time, Bonnie was a little too eager to answer the question. "Oh! She is a Star Flight Instructor, recently promoted too. Just came on board the Sunfire to, um, train a new group of cadets. Six of them, I think. I don't remember much but I know she's a joined Trill. It doesn't make sense she would be on the station, in the computer core, that is."
Dean had to go back to the ship because he'd left the shield there. Stomping on it to flip it up into the air and grab it. Heading back to the station, slapping the shield onto his back. "I think communications got a little touchy. I'm back on the station, Jen. Heading that way."
"Fabulous, we'll be here" Baldric saw a movement out of the corner of her eye and took aim with her rifle, sending a stun beam in that direction. "Surrender, we have you surrounded!" She ordered.
A voice from the darkness, to Baldric's right, spoke, "Hardly. So predictable. Fire first, take names later." The woman's voice echoed in the tight room. She was close enough to grab the rifle, possibly close enough to attack.
"Damage Starfleet property and cover your tracks, sounds like a pretty good reason to me." Baldric tried to train her weapon on the voice. She took a step closer and tried to see the owner of this voice. Despite them saying this was a Starfleet Commander, she certainly wasn't acting like one.
"Well... half right. This is Terok Nor." She stepped into the light just to Baldric's left. As the phaser rifle swung around, she stopped it before the woman could properly aim it at her. "Not today, thank you." She said as her elbow came down on Baldric's face hard, before falling to the deck with a hard thud.
The dark-haired woman then turned to the darkness where her companion was still hiding, "Are you going to help move her body or not?"
Kit took a chance and flicked the throwing dagger toward the dark haired woman, she had made the fatal mistake of stepping into the light when she made her attack. As she did, Kit was already in motion, going into a somersault away from her throw.
The dark-haired woman turned just as the knife entered her visual spectrum, the light shimmering off the blade just enough. As she turned the knife struck her in the arm and she retreated into the shadows, bleeding. "Damn-it. Another one got in. I thought you were watching the door." She said in a hushed tone in the direction where she thought her partner was still in hiding.
Kit chuckled and began to count down, in about twenty seconds someone would be taking a very long nap as the potent sleep drug took effect. She then slowly crabbed-walked away from the computer core and towards the outer wall. She twisted the ring on her right hand; preparing to engage the other individual in the shadows.
The Nausicaan in the shadows slowly pulled out his tegolar sword. There was an Orion in the area and he knew the battle could turn lethal anytime now. He also knew his partner would be out of action shortly, having seen the throwing dagger strike his partner and knowing the Orion’s predilection for poisons. He tried to locate the sound of the Orion’s dancerknife, but couldn’t detect it.
Baldric groaned from the floor, semi-conscious and a large gash on her forehead that seeped blood over one eye, blinding her in that side. She could hear voices, voices she didn't recognize.
The dark-haired Trill woman frowned as she hurriedly tried to repair her arm before any toxin could seep in. "Don't just stand there, take her out before they figure out what we've done." She huffed, and sunk to the floor in the corner of the darkness.
The doors weren't exactly quiet, nor to loud either to cover his entrance. Dean spotted Jennifer first. Rushing to her side and checking to make sure she was alive. Hitting her comm badge for an emergency transport to sickbay. Standing up and scanning the room, not just visually, once or if Jennifer was beamed out. Grabbing the shield off of his back, "You don't want to make me chase you out."
The dark-haired Trill cursed under her breath, even as she began to feel her head blur, "If I ever get my hands on that little green witch I'm gonna turn the booth up to 11." She grabbed at her arm, tried to shift, but the more she moved the more her eyes darkened until her head hit the floor with a heavy thud.
The Nausicaan, familiar with shadow games, stayed in the shadows, shifting to a low silent creep. He moved further back in, staying away from the glow of the local power relays where their 'modifications' had already been activated. In a matter of moments they would go off, one after each other, exploding, creating havoc throughout the station. It would be an honorable sacrifice indeed.
"You just gave yourself away. I can hear you, you're not our Coy and you're also not going to win." Dean focused on listening instead of looking. "There's two of you as well." Unfortunately, he couldn't throw and bounce this shield like in that one set of movies, but he could still aim and throw it. In the lew of clarity he threw it at the power relays, which also opened himself up for attack.
The transport beam was deflected by the shielding of the room, leaving Baldric still on the floor. She watched what was going on with her one good eye. She gasped as Dean left himself vulnerable and saw the Nausicaan take aim. The power relays exploded, covering them all in a shower of sparks but somewhat less than had been intended.
Meanwhile, left alone in the main Core, Bonnie had just finished wiping the 'virus' code from the system. It was rudimentary at best, just enough to cause disruption in the stations defenses. Left alone, she was able to focus on the task at hand. Once the last remnants of the code were wiped, Bonnie stepped back and wondered where everyone had gone off too.
She walked out of the main core, looked up and down the corridor, turned right to where she heard sounds. At the next door she pressed the broken control to open the doors. They opened, then a glowing sword clanked against metal right next to where she was standing. "Nope." She said simply, as she pressed the close button, turned and walked back the way she came.
Kit lunged low in an attempt to strike the Nausicann with her ring while at the same time activating her dancerknife. A small hum began, followed with a barely visible blue-white glow. The Nausicaan swung down with his blade just as Kit neared him. Kit blocked the sword with her daancerknife; there was a loud shrieking sound as the vibrating knife sliced into the sword. Just then, the power relays began to explode, sparks flying from the dancerknife and sword had sparks from the power relays added to it. Kit reached out to grab the Nausicann, but he had been around and fought Orion’s. Instead, he dodged to the side, next to his companion, and slapped a device on his belt; both dissolved in a sparkling green light.
"Where did?..." Baldric's words were cut off by a bigger explosion, the EPS conduits within the walls overloading and sending debris inwards towards the small group. The consoles within the room were obliterated, offering only meagre shelter against the onslaught of molten twisting metal. Alarms blared, and the fire suppression system activated.
OPS
In Operations, every circuit and console lit up, alarms blaring. Kira walked out of the Overseer's office with a commanding strut, "Talk to me, chief."
"The central Computer Core power relay center has just experienced a catastrophic explosion. The system has switched over to the backup relays and battery power. I'm showing signs of system failures all over the station. I don't know what just hit that room, but you can bet your ass it wasn't good?"
"Was anyone in there when it blew?"
The chief’s attempt at a bioscan flickered across the monitors. “Three life-signs. One critical. The other two… I can’t lock on.” As if on cue, Operations plunged into darkness, the room breathing red as emergency lights snapped on.
“Get a medical team down there yesterday,” Kira barked. “And find me answers. I want to know who hit us, how they did it—and why we didn’t see it coming.”
