Mission:
For Bajor!
Location: DS9
Security Office
Meanwhile, Baldric and Dean headed to the security office, requesting access to the station's extensive security camera network.
"Lt Fernando, Commanders Baldric and House from the Sunfire. Kira has requested we assist in the...system failures the station has been experiencing lately."
Fernando looked a little miffed but took a few moments to drop some files onto a PADD and hand it over. "Take a look, I've already reviewed everything, no one on any of the cameras when things go nuts. No traces of explosives or detonations. Just a tired old computer system that keeps crashing," He shrugged.
"We have a team looking into the computer issues. Do you have a list of people who have access to the computer systems that have been affected, or records of any unauthorised access codes being used?" Baldric pressed, noting that the security chief seemed almost belligerent in his wanting to help them.
Computer Core
The lift stopped in the lower sections of the station, just outside the computer Core doors. Bonnie stepped off, stepped up to the doors, expecting them to open automatically. They did not. She then reached over to press the control panel and realized her hand still had caramel goo on it. Shaking off the shame, she pressed the panel, only to be denied entry. "Huh... that's weird." She stated aloud.
Kitiuas smiled, “May I?” she inquired and walked over to the panel, in a graceful move reminiscent of a ballerina, she spun around and kicked the panel hard. The doors slide open. “By the way, that outfit looks fabulous on you. Keep it. It definitely accentuates your figure.” Kit said with a smile, she was telling the truth and also knew it would cause Bonnie a slight bit of discomfort. Kit’s intentions though, were to get the young Lieutenant Commander to “own” her sexuality; she attributed this to her newfound “motherly” side, Orion females taught other females the meaning and usage of their femininity.
Blushing, Bonnie fumbled her words. "Um, oh... thanks. I wasn't planning on working today. But..." She half smiled, "...here I am." She posed, which showed off all of her curves, caramel splotches, and all. She dropped her arms and entered the Computer Core central hub. The low lit lights came up five levels as they approached the center console. "I wonder why we were locked out in the first place?" She asked absently.
Security Office
Meanwhile, in the security office, an alarm sounded. "Unauthorized access to the computer core detected. Level 6 section 34 alpha," the computer intoned, causing Baldric to pause in her persuasion of getting Fernado to help them.
"Can you bring up that camera?" She almost demanded rather than asked. Time was of the essence, considering she had just ordered Bonnie and Kit to investigate there.
"I can track it from here and then join you there if you want to go ahead of me, Jen," Dean said.
"It could be our own people, or it might not be. Keep working on the camera feed I'll go do some recon" Jen gave him a winked and left the security office, disappearing into the throng of people on the promenade.
Dean moved over to one of the consoles and logged into it. First thing he did was run it back 30 minutes before access, instead of 30 seconds. Running it at a higher speed so it wouldn't take that long to watch through.
Computer Core
Kit stepped in after Bonnie, “Most likely someone doesn’t want us to figure out that they are responsible for the mishaps on DS9.” Kit looked about and saw an interface module. She walked over to it and began studying it. “How’s your Cardassian?” asked Kit as she looked at the scrawl on the interface screen, unable to get it to switch over to Federation Standard. "You know my sister and I can help you find some clothes to help bring out your feminine side; never hurts to attract others to you." Kit said teasingly.
Bonnie was half absent as her mind tried to recall how to switch the Cardassian interface into Starfleet standard. Her hands were active as she replied, "You don't think the caramel would attract others?" She giggled before adding, "Besides the flies of course." Her hands landed on the conversion with an audible tone.
"There, try to see if you can access them again." She stood and moved closer to the interface module, where she instantly picked up Kit's various scents. "I appreciate the offer, I do. I really never think about attracting others. In fact because of my, um... nature, I tend to run people off. I would be down for playing dress up dolly, as long as you and your sister are okay with furniture getting broken." Bonnie smiled awkwardly.
Kit laughed as her hands flew across the interface. "Commander, I am now the mother of a newborn who happens to be exhibiting her father's side of the family's mental potential earlier than normal. Oh, did I forget to mention the Orion Syndicate and the bounty on me? I believe Kasso and I are immune to mishaps; perhaps we can help with your mishaps." Kit frowned at something on the screen in front of her. "Take a look at this, will you? Someone has introduced a triple-layer code stream into the computer core."
This was Bonnie's expertise as she slid in front of the interface, her eyes widened with excitement. Her skin practically tingled at the thought of cracking someone else's code. Her fingers danced, "This is good. It's reactive, as though they programmed it to protect itself. The algorithm changes like it's trying to cover its own tracks." She commented.
"Wait, there is something else here too." She started to poke when suddenly the console released an electrical discharge that should have killed her; instead, it knocked her back off her feet onto the cold metal deck plating, onto her rear. Stunned, she waited for Kit's hand to help her stand, her dress limiting her leg movement. As she was pulled up, there was a clear definitive, audible riiiiiiiiipppp.
Kit laughed as she helped Bonnie up. “Seems the computer core is ‘grumpy’ and not happy you are messing around inside it. You’re lucky it failed to fry you.”
"Not funny," there was a clear breeze and what came out next was under her breath through her teeth, "One does not wear undergarments with a dress like this." It was clear the caramel on her dress was also on the backside and when she landed on the floor, it stuck. Now her fanny was hanging out for all to see.
Kit looked at the ripped dress and laughed again, “Why do you hide your figure Commander; I have a feeling there is one or to individuals that would love to see what I am seeing. Now hold still while I do a quick repair and restore some of your bruised ego and dignity.” Kit, with one hand slipped a finger along Bonnie’s back, scooping up the caramel on her back, while the other hand swiftly brought out a small sewing kit. She licked the caramel of her fingers and began stitching up the rip.
“I must now insist, Commander, you pay a visit to Kasso and myself. We have much to teach you about being a female, especially as a human female. You do realize, Commander, you could have your pick of either sex and have them eating out of your hand. Okay, there all fixed up. Now we need to have a look at the computer core and see why it is so cantankerous.” Kit was displaying the remarkable abilities of Orion Females to concentrate on sexuality and other topics at the same time.
Bonnie quickly checked Kit's work, "Thank you. I hope that holds at least until, well, we're done here. And I'm thinking the reason I wasn't fried is because I'm wearing my rubber-soled flats." She pointed at her shoes and rolled her eyes. "Never was one to wear heels if I didn't have to, mostly a safety thing."
She then contemplated Kit's offering but tucked away the offer for later. "Pretty certain it was a booby trap. Placed there to stop us from messing with the code. If we're going to poke around, I'm going to need a tool kit. Um... not a Kit, kit, oh you know what I mean." She said, getting flustered.
Giggling some more, Kit walked over to one of the wall panels and tapped it, a panel opened and she reached in to pull out the requested tool kit. "Tada, Kit produces a kit for the mighty Commander. I still do not know why you get so flustered, especially around me." She said as she handed Bonnie the kit.
Bonnie took the kit from Kit and contemplated as she set to work on the systems control box. She thought about telling Kit that she could smell her scent and that it was pleasant. Or that over the many times they had been saddled to work together, she had been incredibly close. She thought about Kit's fierce attitude and determination, a trait she often lacked. Finally the image of the Orion wear next to nothing, sweaty from putting out fires, flashed in her mind.
As she blushed, she could only respond with, "It's not just you, I get flustered around a lot of people. And you don't have to call me Commander, Bonnie works..." Way to own it, Bonnie. She thought to herself before placing her focus on the control box.
Meanwhile, Commander Baldric made her way to the computer core, sidearm in its holster on her hip but accessible in an instant. For the most part she had been ignored but as she drew closer to the core, there were less people, more technicians and the like. The bright red of her command uniform stuck out amongst a sea of yellow and beige.
"Problem...ah...Commander?" One of the technicians asked as she advanced on the door in question, weapon now in her hand.
"Just responding to an unauthorized access alarm," Baldric replied curtly, earning a scoff from the Engineer. "You must be new here, those things go off all the time. Literally. Always caused by the Cardassian/Federation data link fritzing and blowing everyone's codes every day of the week."
The doors parted to the Computer Core Control room, breaking the silence that was between Kit and Bonnie. Like when the electric discharge hit her, Bonnie jumped at the sudden noise.
The doors slid open and a phaser rifle appeared first around the door frame, Baldric was silhouetted against the harsh lighting from outside.
Kit smiled to herself, "You know, they say a person gets flustered around those she respects and likes the most. I therefore, am flattered. I still believe you should visit Kasso and myself; we can help build your confidence around others. Commander... sorry Bonnie, you are highly respected by the crew. I admire your spunk and ingenuity." Kit was at another control panel applying a retrograde algorithm into the system in the hopes it would confuse the malware code; giving them time to figure out how to get rid of it.
Just then, the computer room doors opened, and a figure with a phaser rifle appeared. Without a conscious thought, she had flicked her dancerknife into her left hand and twisted a ring on her right middle finger, with a small tap a needle with a potent sleep poison on it appeared.
Baldric struggled to see in the dimly lit computer core, seeing only two figures working at a console. "Hands where I can see them!" She barked, not bothering to introduce herself. Her weapon powered up, and her finger was near the trigger.
