Captain Kaylen Rhenora had called a staff meeting, adding in Aurora and Dean by video link from their isolation room. There had been disturbing developments from the surface, with the ships CMO being taken over so it seemed by the pathogen.

As the officers filed in she waited patiently and sipped from the Luke warm coffee, a testament to how the day had been progressing.

Aurora was sitting waiting for the meeting to start, her instinct to scratch her skin was making her fidget but at least she wasn’t raging or looking for anyone else to infect, which was a good thing.


Rhenora turned to the ship's ranking medical officer, Dr Tarsis. "Your prognosis Doctor?"

"We're making good progress in an antidote against this pathogen. Both Aurora and Dean are successfully fighting the infection on their own with minimal support. Which may give us a leg up in a defence against it " Tarsis explained.

"I hope you're right Doctor, it appears Dr Wilson had been infected, but the pathogen is showing signs of sentience, as well as a connection to another species that wad harming the shuttle." Captain Kaylen began, casting her eyes around d the room. "We need options, and alternatives if this fails"

"Captain, the shuttle is docking" the bridge announced through the comm.

"The clock is ticking. Security and Marines, work together to make sure we have no further beam ins. Ops and tactical, keep us at yellow alert and move us away from the planet. "
