Returning home

Posted on Sat Dec 14th, 2024 @ 10:50am by Captain Rhenora Kaylen & Commander Jennifer Baldric

Mission: Ramant
Location: Sunfire

The Sunfire was sue to ship out that afternoon. Having completed repairs they had yet to receive orders but would stay in proximity of DS9 until Command established their new mission. Commamder Jennifer Baldric had returned from leave a day early, signing off on all the repairs and checking some of the work herself before heading to the Ready Room to work on the personnel transfers.
Every time they docked people moved on and new faces appeared. Those new faces had to be approved, assigned quarters, added to rosters, given a ship overview, assigned to a team and department.

Grabbing a coffee on the way she settled behind the desk and opened the computer, flicking through the list of personnel for anything that grabbed her eyes. Kla'ren was departing, hopefully only temporarily, and his replacement was due any moment. The other name of note was the ship's former Captain was transferring to the role of mission advisor. The same role that Baldric herself had taken on originally when she came on board.

"The shoe is indeed on the other foot" she mused to herself as she assigned cabin's, teams and rosters to those coming aboard. She was surprised to see Rhenora back so soon. She'd heard the highlights of their time on Bajor and considering everything that had happened, the fact the woman wanted to work was a miracle. Maybe she was running and avoiding something or someone, throwing herself into work to keep from facing it. She send a note to Aurora, the ship's counsellor to keep an eye on Kaylen, and ensure that her experience didn't hinder her mental health.

"Interesting times" Jennifer continued as she sent out the rosters to all staff. They were due to arrive over the next few hours, then had an hour to be on duty before they shipped out. Not the orthodox way to recall a crew to duty but Baldric wanted them to have the most leave time possible before returning. They all knew their jobs and with the vast majority of the crew being existing personnel, there would be no issues.

Time was ticking, and she had lots to do.
