Location: USS Sunfire, Quarters
Timeline: End of last mission

With the victims of the bombing helped, and the clean up operation underway Aurora headed back aboard ship to put her feet up and rest. She hadn’t had much time to eat so replicating a healthy platter of food was going to be her first thought, before thanking Sidak’s babysitter for her time and letting her go home.

Sitting at the table she was grateful Sidak was asleep, she needed the time to eat and relax.

Savar came from his office, "Aurora, I did not hear you come in. Is everything alright? Can I get you something to drink or eat?"

“Please on both counts Imzadi, it’s been a long day and I’m famished!” Aurora offered Savar a warm smile.

"Certainly Aurora. I was going to fix myself a salad. Now this is even more enjoyable. Have you anything in particular in mind to eat?"

“Actually a Vulcan salad sounds lovely.” Aurora smiled warmly.

Savar nodded, "A Vulcan salad it is and would you prefer tea or a fruit drink? He inquired.

“Erm...a fruit drink please” Aurora smiled warmly. “I hope everything is going alright for Rhenora, it seems odd being aboard ship when she’s preparing for her baby’s birth. I promised her I’d be there if anything happened.”

"Two fruit drinks and two Vulcan salads." Savar replied back to Aurora then continued. "Aurora, she will have Remal with her. She knows you have a duty to the ship. I would like to be there with her as she is my friend as well." He finished simply.

Aurora smiled. “At least we now know that Rhenora will be back onboard before we leave, that definitely puts my mind at rest.”

"Knowing you are at ease, puts me at ease my wife." Savar replied as he poured two glasses of fruit drink before he returned to preparing their salads.

Aurora sipped her juice enjoying the refreshing flavour. “Can I help with anything?”

Savar turned to face her, "Your company is always welcome Aurora, "You may take the glasses to the table please."

Aurora nodded and took the glasses, placing them out on the table. “I almost forgot the cutlery!” She grinned as she picked up some cutlery and placed it out as well.

"Yes indeed." Savar replied, "I do not wish us to eat with our fingers. most unbecoming." He commented as he worked on their salads. "Would you like some croutons and little cherries with your salad Aurora?"

“Please” Aurora smiled and nodded. “Is everything alright? You seem a little different somehow?”

Savar paused his making of the salads and looked to Aurora. "Everything is fine Aurora." He replied perhaps a bit more curtly than he intended. "Different? In what way my wife?"

Aurora shrugged her shoulders. “Maybe it’s just me, but you seem more...Vulcan, if that makes sense?” She paused. “You normally don’t act so...emotionless around me.” She shook her head. “I’m sorry it’s probably just me imagining it.”

Savar shook his head, "No, it is I who must apologise Aurora. I have been preoccupied with Commander Baldric's arrival on the Sunfire. What does it mean? Does Command not feel I am capable of being acting captain while Rhenora is out on maternity leave?"

Aurora offered an understanding gaze. “I don’t think it’s got anything to do with your capabilities Imzadi, I think it’s Rhenora’s Command that’s under threat, Commander Baldric is looking to take over.”

Aurora's statement caused Savar to pause. "An interesting theory Aurora. Commander Baldric does seem rather eager to be in command."

“Exactly” Aurora nodded. “I’m waiting to see her come unstuck! As bad as that sounds coming from me.” She offered a wry smile.

Savar moved to Aurora, forgetting about the salads for a moment. His hand reached out to hers. "It does not sound bad Aurora, if one understands the context. You are loyal to Rhenora as I am and as is the crew. Commander Baldric is new and wishes to establish a position of dominance."

Aurora nodded as she held onto Savar’s hand. “I’m just glad Commander Ramthorne is aboard, I like her.” She smiled. “In my opinion you should be commanding the ship right now, you’re First Officer of this ship, not anyone else. The position of Captain in Rhenora’s absence should be yours.”

A rare smile graced Savar's face. "Aurora." He paused for a moment before continuing, "I do not know Commander Ramthorne very well however I am glad you like her. However on a more personal note. I can always count on your love and support. It fills me and makes me whole. I am proud and honored to have such a woman as you for my wife. I pledge my eternal love and support for you."

“As I do for you, as I did at our wedding Imzadi” Aurora smiled as she leant closer giving Savar a loving kiss. “No matter what I’m always here for you.”

"Thank you, my wife, my love. I apologise again for the unwanted concern I caused you." Savar replied as he gave her hand a gentle squeeze.

“You don’t need to apologise Imzadi, you are right to have concerns.” Aurora offered a comforting smile. “I’d be worried if you didn’t.”

"You are so understanding Aurora. However I do need to apologise. My behavior towards you was wrong and uncalled for. You have always been supportive of me." Savar replied.

“In that case apology accepted” Aurora smiled warmly. “There all over and done with Imzadi. Now how’s about we get back to that salad?”

Savar gave Aurora's hand another gentle squeeze. "An excellent idea Aurora and one I fully agree with."

Aurora smiled. “Let’s cuddle up on the sofa after, just like we always used to. We never seem to get enough hours in the day especially when we’ve got to concentrate on work as well.”

Savar paused in his preparation of the salads and looked over to Aurora. "I believe that to be a most logical idea Aurora as well as an extremely gratifying one. It is a habit we need to revisit." His eyes twinkling as he spoke.

“It is indeed” Aurora smiled. “For now your company, and that of Sidak, is all I need.”

"You and Sidak are my world Aurora. I am complete with you and Sidak with me. What more could anyone want? Than to be with their loved ones." Savar asked.

“I am content Imzadi” Aurora smiled warmly.

"Not only am I content Aurora my love, but I am also fulfilled." Savar replied smiling at Aurora.
