Why do the stars wear tutus?

Posted on Fri Dec 1st, 2023 @ 2:04am by Captain Rhenora Kaylen

Mission: Halloween
Location: Sunfire - Engineering

At first it felt like a violation, the entity forced its way inside her mind, ferreting around through her memory, stealing whatever it liked and leaving only hurt in its wake. It was horrible, she knew some of what the creature was taking but not all. If she didn't act quickly though, the Sunfire would be under it's control, her command codes used against her.

The fear compounded when it displayed grotesque images of her crew, friends and family being eaten alive, screaming for her help as she lay powerless to even lift a finger. She screamed inside her own mind, tormented, traumatised.

And then came the best feeling that she thought she had ever experienced. It was better than the best sex, better than alcohol, and better than the best psychoactive mushrooms she had tried on Bajor during the resistance. Dopamine was a powerful neurotransmitter, and could override any sensibility and make one feel as though nothing else in the world mattered. Right now her body was flooded with it, deliciously sliding through her veins and leaving nothing but the most quivering happiness in its wake.

It was addictive, seductively so, and Rhenora could understand why her crew wouldn't, or even couldn't resist it. Imagine the best feeling in the galaxy, then amplify it, and drench your body and mind in it. These entities were intelligent, luring, seductive and cunning in the execution in their plan. She'd already had a random phaser pointed at her head by someone under the entity's control, the person willing to do anything to maintain that high the being was providing. More and more people were succumbing, falling to the entity's control.

She resisted, despite the alluring call of sex, drugs and whatever the hell else she wanted and wherever she wanted to put it. Cracking open an eyelid, her body still reeling from the combined effect of the stun, the entity in her brain and the dopamine flooding her system. She swore the warp core was doing a dance, and the stars were wearing tutu's and shagging across the sky. The whole thing was incredibly erotic and the non-analytical side of her brain really wanted to have more of whatever it was the galaxy was on. The logical portion however, now threatened to be put it a dark box in the back of her brain by the partying side, rallied the cause of getting her ship back.

The entity could feel her rebel, and through another series of horrible images into her frontal cortex, scenes of her nearest and dearest being digested and eaten for their energy whilst still alive. What the creature didn't account for though, was the instant counteraction such images would have on her dopamine levels. Rational, albeit shaky she climbed to her knees, hauling herself up on the console and using it to support her weight.

Then, she had an idea. It was wild, and it was hairbrained and wouldn't probably kill them all in the process. Better to die instantly than be fed upon whilst still alive.

" See how you like the flavour of this" She whispered, rerouting emergency power away from life support and towards the ship's thrusters.
