Returning Kit's smile, Bonnie simply nodded her appreciation. She had personally enjoyed working with Kit over the course of the previous two days and would have gladly worked with her some more. But her place was Engineering, fixing things and she very well knew it. "Let's go Commander, we've got our work cut out for us if we expect to get this bird in the air again any time soon." She walked up and touched him on the shoulder. She would praise his work on the warp core later, while standing in front of the Captain.

"I agree with you there. Hopefully in the next few days" the engineer said rather optimistically.

Some time later they entered the belly of the ship, where the core hummed a bit out of tune from what it normally sounded. It seemed to be resonating against the rocks below the ship like it was crying to be free, to soar once more. Trapped in a state of rubble, buried in the earth below, Bonnie could feel the ship hurting. "She's injured and crying to be free again. Can you feel that?" She asked Thriss rhetorically.

"Yeah. She sure is" he looked at Bonnie. "We'll get her out of here. I may be an optimist, but I can feel it."

Not expecting him to respond, she went to the nearest cabinet and pulled out two sets of tools and a spare set of 10mm sockets, just in case. "Alright, lights are only at 20% which will make this interesting. The homing beacon is online, I think we need to get a communications satellite into the air so we can talk with the ground team without issues. What do you think?"

The Chief responded once more. "Sounds like a plan. We may have some portable lamps still working in one of the drawer's in one of the back consoles near the entrance to here. If those don't work we can probably use our tricorders for light. That should help with the light issue. Ideally, at least."

"Alright, I'll get us some lights, if you want to prep the satellite for launch." She said adding to his optimism. They were Engineers and they knew their jobs. Together they passed the time mostly in silence, only communicating about the work at hand.

It took a solid hour to load a satelite into the lateral launch tube and another half an hour to figure out why it wouldn't release from the locking clamps before finally under its own power, the thing blasted out of the Sunfire and into space. Bonnie checked the systems, "telemetry good, satelite on course and signal is stable. Anytime you're ready Lieutenant, I'm sure the Captain would love to hear your voice." She said giving an awkward thumbs up.

"After a few days on this rock, I'm sure she would like to hear some good news" Thriss chuckled lightly.

The Andorian turned and tapped his communicator. "Lieutenant Kla'ren to Captain Kaylen, please respond"

Back at the camp Rhenora lifted her head from the medical scanner at the sound of her communicator coming to life. The crystal clear voice of Lt Kla'ren rang through the medical tent.

"Thriss', I take it you've had some outstanding progress given the fact you sound as though you are next to me" she replied.

"Yes ma'am. In terms of main systems, we jump started the warp core. After that we launched a communications satellite into the air. A lot more has been done by the others" he looked at Bonnie. "I'd also like to point out that Lieutenant Durnell is the one who gave us the idea to jump the core and launch the satellite. She has been a massive help in our efforts here. As has everyone else. I just wanted to give credit where credit is due."

" I will make sure to place a commendation in her record, as with everyone." The Captain replied, a sigh of relief in her voice "I know it's a little early, but do you have any idea as to if we can get airborne again?" There was a moment of pause as she debated adding 'in case no-one finds us'.

"Uh, Captian," Bonnie piped up, "Since we have power, and communication, and a, uh, plan..." she hesitated mostly because she hated asking for anything from anyone. "Um, could we have a rotation of personnel return to the ship? I mean, we are still doing okay, though I know some of us are getting tired, but the fires are almost out and a full crew of engineers could really help..." She was rambling again.

"As soon as we get on top of the current medical crisis I will get some fresh people to you. At the moment those of you on the ship are the only ones not getting sick" the Captain explained sagely "but I think we're close to a solution"

This had been the firstBonnie had heard of a medical situation in the camp, and while disappointed, she understood the reasoning for the crew separation now. "Understood Captain." She said confidently before adding. "Oh and Captain, there is evidence building which may suggest a saboteur might have been the cause of the initial explosion which led to our crash. Until the main computer I won't be able to get an ID, but if they survived, they might be with you in the camp or still hiding on the ship for all we know. Just, um, thought you should know."

There was a pause as the Captain filed this particular piece of information away in her mind for later musing, it only added to the complications they were currently dealing with. "Thank you Bonnie, when I can speak with you in person we will discuss what you have found"

"Yes ma'am." She replied simply before closing the channel. She and Thriss still had much to accomplish before their day was over.

Ronson arrived on the bridge and let out a low whistle at the sheer volume of work in front of him. Thankfully most of the bulkheads were intact, apart from the one who had pinned the Captain. There was a lot of miscellaneous debris though, parts of panels, parts of the ceiling and walls, thankfully no parts of the crew, although there was some dried concealed blood on some of the consoles. He would get to the Ready Room later, cleaning our the bridge was of utmost priority.

Picking up the first handful of debris he started to move it to one side so it could be recycled and remade into something. With the broom, a vacuum hose and a small brush it took him hours to make a dent in the mess, but what a dent it was.

The entire forward section of the bridge was now clear and accessibly and he was working his way back to the Captain's chair. It was back braking work but he could see the difference it had made. At least the crew would come back to something that was in a functional and clear space to work in. The way Bonnie was talking it wouldn't be too long before they could get the crew back, saving them from the ever present hazard of dino dinner. With a renewed determination he set back to his task.
