Mission:
*CD*
Location: Dinosaur Planet--Camp
Timeline: After Camp part 4.
Savar had seen Aurora with Sidak going to see Rhenora. he wondered briefly for what reason and then quickly dismissed the thought. Aurora would tell him if she wanted him to know. He however was concerned about her well-being, particularly her headaches.
He had finished his meeting with the security personnel and had checked on Alison and Amanda and now he waited for Aurora by their tent.
“Hey, is everything alright?” Aurora offered a smile as she walked across to Savar. She could feel his concern through their bond. “I was just seeing if there was anything I could do to help, everyone else is helping so I should be too.”
Savar gave Aurora a curt nod. "Yes. Fine." he replied as he looked at her. "Do you not think taking care of Sidak qualifies as helping Aurora? You are tending to his needs and what of your own? Are you looking after yourself?"
“I...I’m concentrating on Sidak, he needs more than I do. My headache is a little better now, but I think there’s more to it than the bug bites. This place just...” She looked around. “It has an aura about it that I don’t like the feel of, Hell we’re in the Jurassic or Cretaceous periods of Earth’s history!”
Savar looked around the camp. "I fear you may be right Aurora. It is more than bug bites. It could be some unknown agent in the air that is affecting the crew." Savar commented. "I believe the Jurassic period Aurora based on the dinosaurs I have seen."
“Guess some people are finding this whole thing fascinating, I’ll admit I’m curious about the dinosaurs, but this isn’t a period in time that man was meant to share. We’re just lunch on legs for the carnivores! It worries me what affect this place might have on Sidak, not that it seems to be bothering him.”
"I am grateful for that Aurora. I confess I am finding it harder to keep my emotional self-control. I believe the term you are looking for is happy meals on legs Aurora but you are correct in your statement." Savar answered his wife.
“Come with me” She motioned back to their tent, leading the way she went inside gently placing Sidak down beside her on a warm and cosy sleeping bag, motioning for Savar to sit. “Let me...” She gently placed her fingers on his temples. “My mind to your mind... my thoughts to your thoughts.”
Savar did as Aurora asked . He was still as she began the meld. to see what was going on in his mind to cause the loss of self control.
Aurora was surprised by the unusual amount of emotional imagery going on inside Savar’s mind, his was usually an oasis of calm but at present his mind was awash with emotion the likes of which she’d only felt during his Pon’farr. She took a calming breath as the sheer force of emotion, and burning passion she was feeling was threatening to push her into her own Pon’farr cycle, which wasn’t that far away.
Savar was aware of Aurora in his mind and it shamed him for her to see him in this state, losing emotional control. He confronted her in the landscape of his mind. "Aurora, you should not be here." He stated raggedly.
Aurora shook her head. “You’re wrong Imzadi, I should be here! I’m your wife, if you are struggling then I should be helping you. You would be helping me, I’m here to help you.”
"I could not ask for a better, more loving and concerned wife." Savar answered his voice rough. I do not know if can help me Aurora. I am...concerned about losing control. I find myself very short tempered."
“I understand Imzadi. Hold onto this connection we share, I will try and help keep you stable.” She guided his mind to the sense she shared with the child she had growing within her. “Feel what I feel Imzadi, hold onto it.”
He caressed her cheek, with the other hand he rested it on Aurora's stomach. He could feel their child inside her. "I feel our child Aurora." He closed his eyes and stood in silence for a few seconds. When he opened them, he looked at Aurora, "I needed this."
Aurora nodded. “I’ll be here for anything you need Imzadi.” She smiled as she looked into Savar’s eyes.
Savar met her gaze, "And I am here for you Aurora. "Today, tomorrows and all the days still to come."
“I know” Aurora smiled. “Another week and we’ll have reached the first milestone in my pregnancy, 4 weeks! I just hope we’re not still stuck here once morning sickness kicks in.”
Savar nodded as a smile appeared on his face. "That is indeed a milestone Aurora. You are well into your first trimester. I also hope we are gone from here before that occurs." His hand slipped to her waist, Aurora's figure was still quite attractive, no sign of being pregnant. "You are my soulmate for all time." As he kissed her softly.
Aurora returned Savar’s kiss as she gently slipped her mind from his, hopefully she had helped enough for now. “As you are mine Imzadi. I will be needing your help in a few weeks time, my own Pon’farr cycle will soon be due, though I’m not sure how being pregnant will affect that.”
"Your meld has helped me Aurora. I have regained emotional control. I do not know how long it will last but I thank you. I am not sure how you being pregnant will affect your Pon'farr cycle. It may be slight as you are with child."
“We can but hope” Aurora nodded. “I’ll speak with Sarah nearer the time.”
"Indeed. In the words of the poet Alexander Pope, hope springs eternal. I will assist you in any way I can. I can only hope that your Pon'farr is not severe and poses no risk to you or the baby," Savar stated evenly.
“I’m hoping that too” Aurora smiled. “You’ll be the first to know if not. For now if you need my help again just say so.”
"I should hope so Aurora." Savar attempted to joke. " I assure you, that I will inform you promptly of any change in my emotional control or lack of." Savar intoned somberly.
“Don’t be embarrassed, or upset Imzadi” Aurora smiled offering comfort. “As long as we’re together everything will be fine.”
