Breath of the Dragon

After the young Ensign had departed to fight fires, S'thenosis found herself assisting in the relief effort. Several crew members had approached her for aid and she had done her best to assist. The medical field was not her forte but she was there and she had read enough medical texts in her lifetime to know right from wrong. Serving mostly as a director, she had helped a number of patients get to the med bay.

After an hour or so, she stepped out into the hall where the quiet was welcoming. Her head was low, her hair becoming disheveled, she sighed. A month of research, days of planning, investigation, all of it gone now. Everything lay strewn about her chamber like the cage of a captured simian.

She could feel the heat of frustration burning at her chest, the redness beginning to show. It was real, a light in the dim hallway. Her ancestors would tell tales of being able to breathe fire, a childish fantasy story. Science had long since proven that her race may have held the power once but somewhere along the genetic split it was lost to time. She felt like breathing fire now, if it were possible.

But not even a scream escaped her maw. She was too tightly wrapped in her own sense of composure to allow such a thing It's escape. Instead, she straightened up, flattened out her dress front and made off in the direction of her quarters. There she would change clothes and prepare for the next item on the Captains agenda to derail her plans. With no word about what would happen next, all she could do was wait.

Minutes later she entered the guest quarters she had been assigned, with some effort. Her door had been blown outward just enough for it not to open. She managed to pull and tug just enough to squeeze through the gap only to find a disaster within.

Her quarters faced the bridge side from one of the upper pylons. So as she peered out, she was also looking down slightly because of how the shop had come to rest at an angle. Her view of the outside was one of lush jungle terrain, mixed with open rolling fields.

Her Dragoness eyes spotted movement in the tree line below and she vaguely wondered if people were disembarking from the Sunfire.

Moving around her room she quickly located her simple collection of clothing, nothing appropriate for a jungle climate of course, so she resolved to 'make do' with what she had brought. Lifting her case up, she quickly realized why she had a porter carry on her things. A redress and rethink was in order.

Forty minutes later she emerged from her bed area in a uniform-esque power suit complete with travel trousers, a belt and a multilayered series of upper garments capped with a chiffon style scarf. Her hair had been repositioned and tamed so that it flowed down onto her shoulder but was tightly compacted so to keep it from being damaged.

She gave one look into the mirror for her own self approval before placing a white head-cage upon her cone shaped head, to further control her flyaways. It was practical yet simple at the same time. She considered it perfect for the occasion. She then slung a travel bag with what she felt were necessities, books mainly, over her shoulder and made for the shuttle deck where a signal had suggested a meeting was about to take place.
