Mission:
*CD*
Location: DS9/Argaliam freighter/freighter destiny
Timeline: Current.
After the shopkeepers had gone, Joran and Tolan both made sure that no-one was left on the Promenade. With everything being clear, they returned to the schoolroom. Taking Kira’s COMM badge, Joran hid it in an air vent.
The two of them then re-sealed the bulkhead, and wiping it down so no prints were left, exited the schoolroom.
[Argaliam freighter, hold compartment]
The two security guards dropped Kira unceremoniously on the floor of the hold. One of the looked around and saw some old strapping on the floor. Retrieving a few lengths, he walked over to Kira and used his foot to turn her over onto her front. Kneeling down, he took her arms, placed them behind her back and tied them tightly. Taking the other piece of strapping he tied her ankles then lastly used one over her mouth.
Standing up again, his disdain for the Bajoran Officer was palpable as he kicked her and said “You’re going nowhere, I hope you’re going to be uncomfortable, you’ve got a long journey ahead!”
The impact roused Kira from her unconscious state, the head injury from the rifle to the back of her head causing everything to wax and wane in a sickening fashion. She groaned slightly, the sound muffled from the bindings designed to keep her quiet.
Minutes later, Joran and Tolan got onboard, got clearance for the freighter to move out and headed towards the wormhole. Tolan headed down to the hold, and when he arrived, walked over to Kira.
“I’m going to enjoy handing you over and watching you get questioned!”
Kira could do nothing but try to make sense of what happened. Her mind cleared slowly, ever so slowly, the blood dripping from her dark red hair slowing. She feigned unconsciousness again, listening carefully to her environment. She was on a ship, hands and feet bound, there were two.. or three of them. She would wait until an opportunity presented itself to gain more information.
[3 hours later, after passing through the wormhole]
The Argaliam freighter slowed and came to a halt. The guards onboard walked over to Kira and one jabbed her in the side with his foot "Time to move...Sir" he chided.
Kira glared at him but kept quiet, her time would come but fighting them now as only going to get herself beaten.
The other one untied her legs, and both of them grabbed under her arms and pulled Kira upright. Half pulling, half dragging her, they made their way up to the bridge. Brining her to a halt, they waited on the ships pilot to speak.
Joran turned in his seat, looked sneeringly at Kira and said "Well, isn't this just peachy Captain, not so much in charge now are you?"
If her gaze could peirce skin, Jordan would have been a dead man. Still quiet and patient she had been in worse situations. She would get out of this one.
Standing up and walking over to her, he very roughly removed the gag and said "You spent so long hunting down those you saw as war criminals and having them prosecuted, let's see how you find the boot being on the other foot, eh?"
Silence would anger them more and so she said nothing, biding her time.
"You're going to be tried for war crimes against the Cardassian people. Don't worry though, we'll question you first, only, our methods aren't as genteel as your own, we'll get the truth out of you... eventually" he answered.
She allowed them to rant, gaining information from what he was saying and what he wasn't saying. Body language was key, the way his eyes flittered around the room. Was his bravado merely a front or did he actually think he could pull this off?
"You'll be found guilty of course" Joran said, "and when you are, it'll be a slow agonising death, I personally will see to that" he added, "you see, many of my comrades died at the hands of you and your war mongering cohorts, and you'll pay with your life."
"You kill me, Starfleet will not rest until you are captured. Do you want to draw Bajor back into war?" Her tone was icy, but spoke a volume of truth. "Let the resistance go, the time to rebuild our culture is now, not piss off our only ally and engage the Federation"
"Oh but Captain, in the eyes of your beloved fellow officers, crew and...dare I say it, the shopkeepers of the Prominade, you'll still be very much alive" Joran replied, using a grandiose gesture towards the entrance to the bridge.
"That's right Kira, because I...that is...pretending to be you will be there looking as if all's as it should be" a voice said.
The sound of someone entering the bridge could be heard, and the person who had spoke stood right in front of the real Captain.
"I'm a carbon copy of you, right down to drinking that disgusting raktajino filth" she said.
Kira looked at the copy of herself, almost identical in every way. It wasn't perfect enough to be a clone, but the imposter had her physique and her voice, easily enough achieved if one really wanted to. The question was what was to gain by all of this?
The new arrival gently placed her hand on Kira's cheek and said "I'm looking forward to ruining your reputation and life you know. Oh, it won't be all disaster, well, not to begin with anyway. Small changes at first, some false reports, a few 'inventive' missions for certain key personnel..."
"That's enough!" Joran said, slapping down the false Kira's hand from the real Kira's cheek "she doesn't need to know, she just needs to realise her time's nearly over."
"The rendezvous ship's an hour away" Tolan said "enough time for us to begin."
Joran nodded to one of the guards behind the real Kira. They moved forward and knelt down, tying her ankles together again.
The false Kira smiled as she said "Well, I'll leave you to the men here, have fun won't you" and then strutted off.
Once the guard was done, Joran moved forward and said "Oh, fun will be had...well, from our end at least."
He nodded to the second guard. They moved forward and held up a long length of rope. Swing it, he threw it up and over a beam above where he was standing and caught the open end as it came back down. Walking back a few paces, he secured on end to a pipe then came forward to the other open end. Working quickly, he made a crude noose and and placed it over Kira's head and pulled it tight when it was around her neck. Not enough to choke her though, but tight enough that it grabbed her skin.
Joran smirked as he said "Let the fun begin. Tell me who was in the Shakaar resistance cell with you when you attacked the Gallitep resettlement site. Let me demonstrate what's going to happen if you refuse to talk" and he nodded to the second guard behind Kira.
The guard took hold of the rope and began pulling on it, tightening the noose around Kira's neck and lifting her off the deck.
Kira could do nothing as she was hoisted crudely from the ground, the rope restricting her air supply and causing her to be light headed. She was silently calling their bluff - if they wanted information, she couldn't give it to them if she were dead.
The guard lifting Kira off the deck began to laugh as he pulled on the rope. A few moments later though, he suddenly arched his back, a surprised look, and let go of the rope, allowing Kira to career back down onto the floor.
Joran looked round at hearing the noise, not understanding why Kira was back on the deck, a guard lying prone next to her.
"What the..." he began, but was cut short as he was felled by a phaser burst. Tolan to had turned at the sound of Kira hitting the deck, and looked with dismay as Joran fell forward having been stunned. He half rose from his seat but that was as far as he got before he to was hit by phaser stun. The last thing he saw was the second guard, kneeling, pointing his phaser at him.
The second guard rushed forward to Kira and took the rope from around her neck thus allowing her to breath normally. Untying her hands and ankles, he helped sit her in an upright position against the bulkhead.
"Captain Kira, my name's Ka'L'sen, I'm with Bajoran intelligence. Please stay here till I get back, don't leave the bridge" he said.
He was gone about five minutes then returned to the bridge and to Kira.
"I've taken care of the other one, they'll be out for a while" Ka'L'sen said. He could see the look of confusion on Kira's face so he carried on "Sir, Bajoran Intelligence received word that there was a Cardassian cell on DS9 and that they'd been genetically altered to appear Bajoran. We had the name of one, Tolan, so I was sent in under cover to try and infiltrate his cell and work out who the others were. Slowly over time I did and I got to find out their plan was to kidnap you. Joran appearing on the station kind of moved things along a bit quicker because he had got in contact with Tolan and set this kidnapping up. I had to play along till I knew the whole set up of their plan, and when I did, I acted. Don't worry, none of then are dead, just stunned, but they'll be out for hours. I suggest we get this ship back to DS9 where they can be put under arrest.
The two Bajoran's took the infiltrators a placed them in the hold, ensuring it was shut and properly sealed before turning the ship around and heading back to DS9.
The shoe was going to be on the other foot when Joran woke up...
