Thinking of You

Posted on Fri Nov 25th, 2022 @ 4:51am by Lieutenant Thomas Haldeman

Mission: *CD*
Location: Dinosaur Planet
Timeline: Night One

Tom had enjoyed his meal provided by Kit, the consideration of Kit and the warmth of the meal made him even more determined to help this crew and for them not to be a footnote in the pages of history.

Before they settled down for sleep and he began his watch, his mind drifted to Alie and Amanda. He hoped they were safe and that someone was looking after them especially with Alie being pregnant ad while Amanda knew what to do, he felt better knowing Sarah was out at the camp with them.

He checked on the disaster beacon and it was still sending it's automated 'help" message, whether someone was listening was another story. As he walked back to where the others were going to sleep he thought on Alie and Amanda more Alie, she was his wife and his best friend, lover and confidant. They had been through hell on the Jungle planet. Ten years of hell that saw their toddler son killed before his eyes. Alie had hated him but through hard work they reconciled and now they were stranded again. "Alie." He whispered, "I love you. I love you so very much. Thank you for sticking with me. I'll come back to you. You just keep yourself, the baby safe. Let Amanda help you as much as possible." As he finished, he thought of a song he had once seen when ages ago and he softly sang it.

Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight
Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishin' on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky
Somewhere out there, if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishin' on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky
Somewhere out there, if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true
