Commander Jennifer Baldric breathed a sigh of relief as the Away Team headed back to the shuttle after an hour of talks with the Grand Chancellor. They had gained as much as could be expected from the xenophobic species, an agreement to leave the area on good terms and post a series of bouys around the ion cloud warning passers by not to enter.

Dropping into one of the rear seats in the shuttle she watched quietly as the rest of the team settled in an powered up the shuttle, easing it out of the shuttlebay and back towards the Sunfire. From what she had gathered, a shield had been raised around the weapons platform during their meeting 'for their own protection' supposedly, she imagined that hadn't gone down too well with Commander Kerr and wondered how he had reacted to the situation.

Commander Savar and herself had conducted the majority of the talks, with input from both Lt's House and Durnell - who had managed not to get themselves into too much trouble during the proceedings. She had heard a rumour about Lt Durnell's apt ability to be 'clumsy in all things', although she was sure there was no truth to it.

The shield surrounding the platform powered down as they approached, and was raised a few moments after they had safely passed through, a testament to the bristly nature of the species known as the 'Phobe'. Phobic by name, and phobic by nature apparently.

With a sigh she looked forward to a glass of wine and a long hot bath before writing her report on the meeting.
