Return of the Away Teams

Mission: Gamma Quadrant
Location: Bridge

Captain Kaylen Rhenora forced herself not to pace the bridge, remaining instead in her command chair with her legs crossed and a determined expression on her face. The Away Teams had made progress with most of the refugee's now safely on board and the teams preparing the carriers for travel. The plan was for one to be towed, and the other to follow using a remote navigational device.

She forced an out breath, still unnerved from the discovery of the bomb on the first ship along with the questions that remained to be answered there. Who had placed the bomb and why? If it weren't for Commanders Kerr and Savar it would have exploded and taken everyone on board with it. The second team were putting the finishing touches to the remote unit and making sure the engines were functional enough to keep up. As soon as everyone was back on board it would be one last quick trip back to DS9 to drop the Bajoran ships and refugee's off, then hopefully into the Gamma quadrant for a few months.

She had a dinner planned with Remal tonight, a bottle of springwine and a good meal hopefully after a good workout to burn off the crazies. Exercise kept her mind sharp and her body in decent order for her age - something she was determined not to let get away from her. Fatigue was beginning to become a constant companion and she fought the urge to balance pushing through it and allowing her body the time it needed to rest. The tightening in her uniform around her lower belly reminded her of the duality of her situation. First eat, then exercise - she amended in her mind, then she could relax with Remal for the evening.

Hopefully they would get the remainder of their mission complete without any more mishaps or interruptions. She had a funny feeling a certain small member of the family would not wait for such things.
