Savar stood in the middle of neatly packed boxes each marked with the contents contained therein.

"I believe that is everything Aurora." He said to his wife who stood next to him cradling Sidak in her arms, who looked about contently.

All their possessions had been transported from the Liberty and now the task of redecorating their quarters could begin in earnest.

“Question is where do we start?” Aurora looked around. “I guess Sidak will be in with us for a little while, I can’t honestly see his parents leaving him with us for any longer than is necessary.” She couldn’t help but feel attached to Sidak, she was going to be very unhappy when she had to let him go.

"I would say we start with Sidak's room. Get his crib up, so he has a place to sleep. Then we can begin work on our room and the rest of our quarters." Savar proposed.

Aurora nodded. “I’m glad one of us is clear headed enough to be organised” she offered a smile. “Let’s do that then I can put this little one down and help you.”

"You had more pressing matters to deal with Aurora." Savar observed as he felt himself growing more attached to Sidak. "Now so Sidak will have a place to sleep, I suggest we begin to organize his room as we want it."

Aurora nodded and smiled. “Let’s do that, what bothers me is that I don’t know how long it’ll be before I have to let him go. The longer he’s with us, the more attached I’ll get.”

"I would say for the sake of saving yourself unneeded stress that you take Sidak being here with us day by day and enjoy each day he is here to the fullest Aurora."

Looking down at the baby now sleeping in her arms Aurora smiled. “I will do that, I’ll be the mother he needs.”

"I have no doubt of that Aurora. You are already proving to be an excellent mother by bonding with Sidak and providing emotional stability to him." Savar pointed out.

“Thank you Imzadi” She smiled warmly. “So how long do you think it’ll take to put that cot together? Maybe I should just dig out the Moses basket for now?”

"I would estimate 30 to 45 minutes. However to be safe. Yes, have the Moses basket ready." Savar answered as he headed for what would be the baby's room.

Looking around Aurora soon found the basket, clearing it from its spot she placed it safely nearby and gently placed Sidak in it to free herself up to help Savar.

"Bring Sidak into the room, so he can watch us work and it will increase the bond between us." Savar suggested.

“He’s asleep at the moment” Aurora smiled, “but I’ll bring the basket near the door where we can watch him.”

"That will be most satisfactory Aurora." Savar replied before tackling the putting together of Sidak's baby cot.

Smiling Aurora looked around, hopefully she and Savar would have a child of their own in the nursery one day. For now it was Sidak’s for however long he would be with them.

Savar began assembling the cot while Aurora kept him company and an eye on Sidak. He had to admit the baby had captured Aurora's heart. Even he was feeling a growing attachment to the infant.

“I’m glad we brought a good collection of baby things now, they’ll come in handy for our own children one day.” Aurora smiled warmly. “I am sorry if I pushed the limits of our relationship with my decision to keep Sidak.”

Savar put down the tools he was using at looked at Aurora. "Aurora, we are husband and wife. Our relationship as you call it is built on love, honestly and respect. You have not done anything you need to apologize for not to me or anyone else. You have acted as a loving mother to Sidak. In point of fact I apologize to you if I made you feel uncomfortable in your decision to keep Sidak."

Aurora smiled. “Thank you Imzadi, I’m glad we’ve had chance to talk about it. It puts my mind at rest.”

"You are my wife, you make me complete. I love you very much Aurora. I apologize to you for not telling you that more often. You are a most extraordinary woman." Savar replied.

“You don’t have to tell me Imzadi” Aurora smiled warmly. “I can feel how much you love me, I love you too with all that I am.”

"You are most kind Aurora." Savar told his wife and then did a most unVulcan action. He leaned towards her and kissed her fully on the lips. "I feel some us time is needed." He replied simply.

Aurora would have quite willingly enjoyed more of that, as she returned Savar’s kiss. “On that I quite agree.”

"Excellent. Perhaps later we can arrange for some." Savar returned suggestively.

Aurora nodded. “A babysitter? I think that can be arranged.”

"Yes, a babysitter. Do you wish the sitter to come here or take Sidak to the sitter, so our time together is not interrupted." Savar asked.

“I guess we take him, but we’d have to figure out who to take him to.” She smiled. “Plus I’m not sure if I’d spoil our time worrying about him.”

The Haldemans have a teenage daughter who may be well suited for this task Aurora." Savar suggested.

“Or perhaps the Captain? It would be good practice.” Aurora smiled.

"Aan excellent idea Aurora." Savar replied. "This would be good for the Captain."

Aurora smiled. “Then I guess we just need to ask her.”

"A most astute observation Aurora." Savar agreed.

“First let’s get this room finished, then we can set out and ask her.” Aurora smiled.

"The baby bed is almost complete Aurora." Savar informed his wife. I estimate ten more minutes then Sidak will have a bed to sleep upon."

“Well done!” Aurora smiled the biggest smile yet. “This is so much fun!!”

"Indeed Aurora. I believe this is what is called family time." Savar answered as he continued to put Sidak's baby bed together.

“It is indeed” Aurora nodded. “Precious time together.”

Quite right Aurora. These are the moments where memories are made."

“So does this mean you’ll be wanting me to spend more time being mum, than being a Counsellor?” Aurora studied Savar curiously. “I plan to continue with my career, I just need to figure out the best way.”

"An interesting question Aurora, one I confess I had not thought of until you mentioned it. However now that you have, I believe it would be in the best interest of Sidak and our own children when we have then that you concentrated on being a mother. So a reduction in hours of being a counselor would seem appropriate."

Aurora nodded yet frowned. “How will I keep my position as Chief Counsellor if I’m not on full duty hours?” The thought bothered her, she’d worked hard to get where she was. “I’ll have to work it out.”

"I am sure you will come up with an equitable solution Aurora." He paused and looked at her. "Sidak's bed is finished."

“Excellent!” Aurora motioned to a soft blanket that lay nearby. “Would you lay out Sidak’s blanket for me please?”

"Of course Aurora." Savar answered taking the blanket and laying it out as Aurora asked.

With the blanket laid out Aurora gently placed Sidak down in his crib with a small teddy for company. “Awww he looks so peaceful.”

"He looks very content." Savar admitted. "I believe he feels as he does because he feels safe and protected when he is around and with you Aurora."

Aurora nodded. “I’ll protect him as any mother would, even though he’s not mine. I just wish I had more answers than I do about Sidak.”

"I know you would Aurora. You are extremely kind and compassionate and when a child is involved you are even more protective . All of these are outstanding traits. We will continue to look for answers and hopefully they will come soon." Savar answered.
