Captains Log - Supplemental

We are holding position within an ion cloud near the Wormhole in the Gamma Quadrant following a game of cat n mouse with a number of Cardassians. The USS Patterson was also at this location for a short period of time before beaming some of the Cardassians off their ship and leaving the area. I can only assume that they had their own orders and would adhere to the conduct of Starfleet.

This left us in a tricky situation, two Cardassian ships are still present, and we are in the process of rescuing those aboard two Bajoran ships the Cardassians were attacking. Their motive is still unclear and I hope to uncover more once we safely retrieve all the refugees and tow their ships out of the ion cloud. Part of me thinks there are still old scores trying to be settled under the cover of mercenaries and renegades, perhaps on both sides. I will be keeping my eyes and ears open in the meantime in case hostilities erupt again. We sustained minor damage during one of the altercations but nothing the Engineering team can't handle on our way back to DS9 to drop off the Bajoran.

Hopefully soon we can move on with our mission of ascertaining the current state of the Dominion within the far reaches of the Gamma Quadrant.
