Diagnostics

Mission:
Once Upon A Time on Risa.
Location: Engineering
Cameron could’ve been on Risa, but had decided to stay onboard in order to pursue his latest romantic interests and work on a vintage car program he had for the holodeck. The decision was one that he was quickly starting to regret as the day dragged on in engineering.
Routine diagnostics were the only thing he had worked on all day and it was boring him to death. He sighed as he input the next sequence to run on the plasma injectors, but his attention was diverted half way through as one of the more attractive engineering officers walked by. He returned his focus back to the console, his mood having improved by seeing something more striking than the dull injector analysis, not realizing that his hand had slipped and entered an erroneous error.
A few hours passed and Cameron’s shift was almost over. He took the stack of diagnostic reports which he had gathered and headed to Tassk’s office to turn them in. Cameron thought about doing a quick review of the results before he handed them over, but he was confident in his work and figured everything was fine. Plus he had places to be and engineering wasn’t one of them.
“Here’s the diagnostic reports Chief,” Cameron set the reports on the desk with a charming smile. He knew that charm never had much of an effect on Taazk, but it was worth a shot at getting out of engineering a few minutes early to pursue his hobbies.
"Very good now way don't you polish my boots while you're at it?" Taazk grunted, looking up from his console.
"I'm sorry Chief, what?" the young engineer asked.
"Are you looking for an extra few credits? Are you aiming for promotion? Do you want my job?" Taazk stood up looking into the young officers eyes. "You have done all these diagnostics while all the other youngsters are enjoying themselves on the pleasure planet? If you want extra work I can always sign you up for a double shift?"
Cameron held his hands up, "no, I'm good thanks Chief. In fact, I have another engine to get my hands on, just as good look as the Sunfire's."
Taazk sat down again, suddenly very interested in the petty officers life away from the Sunfire.
"Well sir, it's like this............"
