Freya stood at the viewport in her quarters, her gaze transfixed on the streaking stars that raced by as the USS Sunfire traversed through warp space. Each shimmering point of light reminded her of the vastness of the universe, yet the familiar hum of the ship's engines, usually a source of comfort, now felt unsettlingly distant. A soft chime from her PADD interrupted her thoughts—a notification indicating that her transport to the nearest starbase was ready.

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Freya activated her personal log, her voice steady yet laced with emotion.

"This is 1st Lieutenant Freya Score, Commanding Officer of the Sunfire Marine Division. I'm back on board after an extended leave due to a family emergency that needed my attention. Thankfully, the situation has been resolved, and I’m hopeful it won’t arise again, but only time will tell if that’s true. Now, as I prepare to rejoin my fellow crew members and our Captain, I can’t help but wonder what new challenges and adventures await us. I’m eager to find out what they’ve been up to in my absence."
