Personal Log - Lieutenant Archer

:ON:

Andrew walked along the relatively quiet corridors of the USS Sunfire. The lights were dim, a routine most starships adopted throughout Starfleet if a ship was docked. Why waste power if there was hardly anyone onboard?

Turning around a final corner, Andrew found himself on the scientific unit of the ship. All types of laboratories could be found here. Everything from molecular science, to warp functionality tests, to exobiology, and everything in between.

Andrew felt a great rush of pride wash across him as he reminded himself that he was the Chief Science Officer on the ship. He was in charge of the science departments, and even had a seat on the bridge. He smiled to himself as he entered Science Lab 1.

"Good afternoon, sir." a relatively young looking Vulcan ensign welcomed. "My name is V'Kir - am I to surmise that you are Lieutenant Archer?"

Andrew looked at the man. Vulcans were always incredibly hard for Betazoids to read. Vulcans had emotions, that was for sure, but they pushed them deep down within themselves and shielded them from others. Betazoids could eventually peel back the layers of suppression, but it would take a while. Too much time than Andrew has at the moment.

"Yes Ensign, I'm Lieutenant Archer." he stepped into the room and looked around before focusing on the Vulcan's teal uniform, "Are you a science officer yourself?"

V'Kir raised an eyebrow, "Indeed I am, assistant science officer. I transferred from the USS Brighton two weeks ago. To serve on the Sunfire was a good opportunity for me to expand my career experience."

Andrew laughed, "A Vulcan with a career plan; how refreshing!"

V'Kir again raised this eyebrow, and cocked his head slightly. "Tell me sir, when will we be underway?"

"That's a good question," Andrew admitted, "I'll see if that Captain has come aboard yet. If he has, I'll try and find out what our plans are."

The Vulcan nodded his head slightly, "Very good, sir."

Andrew turned and left the science lab - hoping he would be able to find the Captain at some point. Now, which way as the nearest turbolift?
