Physical Description		Canaan's green eyes are like two emeralds sparkling in the sunlight. They are bright and piercing, yet also warm and inviting. Their vibrant green hue changes depending on the light, sometimes appearing more teal and other times more forest green. Overall, they are truly captivating and define Canaan's appearance. Canaan's hair is long, with a natural dark brown color that adds depth and richness. However, Canaan's love for self-expression through his hair leads him to dye it in various bright and bold colors frequently. Canaan's hair is dyed in an eye-catching blend of purple and pink, with subtle hints of black that give his hair a unique and edgy look. Despite the length of his hair, Canaan takes great care in maintaining it, ensuring it is always healthy and shiny. While this can be overwhelming initially, it's easy to see that Canaan's heart is in the right place. He is a true friend who is always there for his friends when they need him. Canaan has a very dominant personality, meaning he often takes charge of situations and tends to be the leader in his friend group - this is both a blessing and a curse, as it can sometimes lead to clashes with others with strong personalities. However, Canaan always manages to find a way to make things work and is usually able to bring everyone together in the end. One of Canaan's most admirable qualities is his loyalty. Personal History		Canaan was the only child of Matilda Benoit (née) and Gregory Serine. His parents worked as veterinary pathologists and ecologists with the inland fisheries and wildlife department, and he was raised in the north woods of Maine, near the Moosehead Lake region. From an early age, Canaan accompanied his parents on their expeditions and learned about nature in a practical, hands-on methodology. These excursions instilled in him a genuine fondness for exploration and discovery while teaching him to appreciate the natural order of things. Although proficient in other subjects, Canaan excelled in the natural and environmental sciences and biology. His grades were of such high caliber that he was invited to attend college-level courses through the University of New England. During this time, he also applied and qualified to participate in the Starfleet Academy Preparatory School in Paris, France. During his time in school, Canaan had to endure a rigorous schedule of academic coursework, drilling, practical education, and physical training, all of which helped him prepare for life at Starfleet Academy. Despite the school's demanding environment and exceedingly high expectations, Canaan thrived and respected the strict regimen imposed upon him. After completing prep school, Canaan progressed to Starfleet Academy, where he studied the sciences with a concentration in xenobiology. After completing his academy education, Canaan was assigned to serve aboard the USS Sunfire for a five-year tour as a junior officer in the science division's biology department.
Service Record		A graduate of Starfleet Academy, Canaan is commissioned the rank of Lieutenant (JG) and assigned to the USS Sunfire as a biologist specialist with the ship's science department.
