Weaknesses: Can be stubborn at times, and finds it difficult to work with a team, as he's usually the lone physician or medical officer. Reluctant to take a real leadership role.
Ambitions Continue to see the galaxy, discover and chronicle new approaches to medicine in regards to culture and evolution, and push the boundaries of medicine and technology.
Hobbies & Interests Technology as it relates to evolution and the merging of organic, cybernetic and positronic assets.

Personal History ((If bio doesn't fall in-line with fleet lore, please let me know and I can edit.))

Born in Philadelphia, a hub of technological innovation on Earth for the past 100 years, Roman’s parents worked as consultants on the development and advancement of technology for a variety of clients, including Star Fleet. He was drawn to medicine and science early in life, particularly how it worked, and how far it could be pushed. The only thing more thrilling than the medical field was Roman’s love of adventure.

Star Fleet Academy was a natural choice for Roman, despite his parent’s objections. Working for an off-world consortium couldn’t fulfill Roman’s desire to see the galaxy. As one of the top medical prospects in Star Fleet Academy, Roman’s career track was to some day be a chief of medicine.

During his residency at Starbase 42, Roman fell in love with an heiress to a large shipping empire, based in a distant area of the Alpha quadrant, where the Federation did not have ties. With the promise of marriage, Roman resigned from Star Fleet to follow his love into the furthest reaches to prove his loyalty to her family. The arrangement fell apart after a year.

Roman spent the next two decades drifting around the back-waters of the Alpha quadrant, working on freighters, corvettes and the occasional space station. While this wasn’t the glorified Star Fleet type of adventure he had hoped for, there were good times, as well as times of struggle. During his travels, he experienced his fair share of hardship, heartache, and triumph.

The death of his parents brought him back to the Sol system. Once he settled their affairs, a chance meeting with an old Academy mentor introduced him to a Star Fleet program for officers and enlisted personnel looking to join Star Fleet. The accelerated curriculum, where prior learning experience is considered, was designed to bolster Star Fleet’s ranks by recruiting experienced candidates for doctors, scientists and engineers in the post Dominion War era.

Having gone through all the testing and being granted a reinstatement of his Academy status, Roman spent the past year in this program getting refreshed on Star Fleet medical protocols. Although he’s starting over, Roman’s uniquely qualified to begin his Star Fleet career, using his experience on the fringes of space as a guide to find his purpose.
